“That girl there,” she pointed at Feng Yu. “She insulted me and my escort. Leave an arm and she can go.”
“Excuse me?”
It was at this point that shit, very poetically, hit the fan.
****
“E-Excuse me?” Zi Yu looked behind her with a look of shock. She even began to tremble as she asked.
“You heard me,” the woman said without missing a beat.
“No, I didn’t,” Zi Yu started to pick her ear, wanting to wipe away any earwax arrogant enough to occupy her ear canals.
“Could you say again? I seem to have an ear thing at the moment,” she asked as she finished ‘picking’ her ear.
“Have ‘HER,’” she pointed at Feng Yu once more, “leave an arm as a price for her ignorance. Weaklings should never offend the strong.”
This b***h was crazy.
“You…!” Zi Yu was almost about to lose it.
“And him,” she then pointed at Jia Yan. “Have him leave an eye behind. I allow no man to look at me without my permission. He’s lucky I’m merciful enough to leave him with an eye.”
“Anything else?” Zi Yu stopped trembling at this point. This was way beyond that point.
“Now that you ask, you can also pay up 150 spirit stones and we can put this matter behind us,” she said finally, feeling smug.
Don’t let the fact that Long Di dropped that one million spirit stones earlier at the auction take away from the fact that spirit stones are cheap.
They are a commodity whose necessity knows no bounds.
“Does it have to come from her and him?” Zi Yu asked with a smile.
“Do you want to pay up in their stead?” the woman asked. “I don’t care. Leave an arm and an eye along with the spirit stones or don’t even think about staying in this region!”
“Do it!” Feng Yu said, extending an arm.
Zi Yu gave her a side-glance filled with apathy, “understood.”
“Senior-apprentice si-”
“Shut up!” Feng Yu scolded Jia Yan for speaking up. “Take the eye too,” she advised.
Zi Yu said nothing in the face of this. Her cauldrons silently materialised behind her just as they did before.
Then…
Fwhip!
ZI Yu snapped her fan shut before anyone could react.
Pu Ci!
Blood erupted like a fountain as the arm fell to the ground with a thud.
Shu!
Feng Yu herself looked to the arm on the ground with widened eyes, but before she could look back at Zi Yu, the fan was already curving through the air as it took the eye next!
Plop!
“A-Aaaahhhh!”
As it fell to the ground, a bloodcurdling scream bellowed out!
Zi Yu curtly shook her fan to cast off the blood that stayed behind. She looked at the youth that was now missing an arm and the woman that was missing an eye.
“There’s your eye and arm,” Zi Yu coldly announced.
She then looked to Feng Yu saying, “while it was admirable to take your junior apprentice brother’s place. Never accept punishment for something you don’t deserve, especially in the place of fools. My father taught me that we demons must always retain our pride. We cultivate to live in dignity.”
‘Cultivate to live in dignity,’ As Feng Yu whispered these few words to herself, her heart shook at these words.
“Aaaahh!! You B***H!!” the woman shrieked.
“The pot’s calling itself black, I see,” Zi Yu fired back.
“You’ll pay for this!” the youth shouted in rage. He was losing a copious amount of blood for each second that passed. No matter what he tried, he was unable to stave off the blood.
However, this wound would prove to be a great impediment to his cultivation path. After all, only those in the realm of Quasi Destiny Venerate and above could regenerate body parts using their own power.
If one had enough resources at their disposal, they could ‘build,’ an arm, but certain limitations and /or complications would have it that the replacement would never be as good as the original. This would especially be the scenario in the case of special grade physiques.
The youth was severely enraged because he was not a big character in the Nether Immolation War Temple. So the capital and accruement needed for something like limb replacement was not something he could get his hands on.
“Hmph! You’ve just wounded the eighth concubine of Savage Taitan!” the youth said.
Upon hearing this name, Zi Yu’s eyes widened in shock! “Savage Taitan of the Boundless Plains!?”
“Hmph! It’s too late for regrets!” he snorted.
Zi Yu then looked back at the woman, who was now able to stem the bleeding. It was obvious that her cultivation base was higher than the youth’s.
“No wonder you dare to act so arrogant. It’s not only because you’re from the Nether Immolation War Temple, but it’s also because you’re also a plaything to that brute!” Zi Yu spat.
“My beloved will rip you to pieces!” she shrieked.
Zi Yu was shocked for a moment before her calm returned. “Let him come. We’ll be waiting for him,” she said with a smile.
The woman was taken aback by her courage and apparent fearlessness.
What did she have to be afraid of? Long Di was a freak of the cultivation world who was able to match anyone. Plus, she was travelling with Yaomu Shou. One was someone who no one from the younger generation should logically be able to match and the other was someone who no one from the demon region can defy. What did she have to be afraid of?

…
Yaomu Shou, who was in the distance, gave a sly smirk when she saw this. It was obvious at a glance that Zi Yu was acting with the knowledge of Long Di and herself being able to rectify the issue for her.
“Sneaky little bastard,” Yaomu Shou said to herself with a smile.
“What happens if I kill one of them right now?”
A lazy voice sounded behind her that caused her to jump in shock.
“G-Geez! Don’t sneak up on me like that!” Yaomu Shou quipped when she realised it was Long Di, “and what do you mean killing one of them? What are you planning?”
…
“You’re not afraid of the Nether Immolation War Temple?” the woman asked, a bit confused.
“I’m not afraid of your Savage Taitan,” Zi Yu corrected.
“M-Milady, I-I need to get treatment. May we return to the sect?” the youth asked as his attempt to stop the bleeding failed. At most, he could only slow it down. This was why he was able to last this long.
He didn’t dare return without her, as that would mean possibly facing Savage Taitan on his own. He wasn’t sure he could survive the experience on his own.
However, she didn’t pay him any heed and continued to converse with Zi Yu. Though she was extremely enraged, she wanted to know the enemy’s trump cards before anything else.
Zi Yu herself couldn’t be anyone too famous since she didn’t recognise anyone, and she couldn’t focus on the other person who was farther away since she didn’t want to move her focus from Zi Yu since she didn’t want to lose another arm in a moment of carelessness.
“Useless,” she spat at the youth as he stared at the ground.
“I hope you can remain as arrogant as you are now when Savage Taitan finds you,” the woman stated.
“Oh, we will. Run along now,” Zi Yu waved her off.
“You…!”
“What you?” Zi Yu asked. “If you keep delaying, your little boy there will die of blood loss. It doesn’t look like he can win against the density of my somatic essence,” Zi Yu pointed out.
When she looked over and saw that the youth was swaying back and forth like he was readying himself to practise the drunken fist, she gritted her teeth in irritation and relented.
“Urgh!” stomping her foot in frustration, she took off in a hurry compelling the youth to follow after her.
Before long, Zi Yu could hear several steps behind her and looked back to see Yaomu Shou, Shen Ling, and Xiannu Liang approaching.
“How’s Tie Lang?” Yaomu Shou asked before anything else.
They all went over and the sight was a bit sickening to look at. Tie Lang’s hands were extremely mutilated.
Of all his fingers, only the pinky was left, and even that was only hanging by a piece of skin.
Yaomu Shou’s expression turned unsightly when she saw the extremity of his injuries.
“Where’s Long Di?” Zi Yu asked when she saw Shen Ling and Xiannu Liang but not the dead-faced boy.
“He went to deal with something,” Yaomu Shou replied, answering Zi Yu’s question.
Focusing on Tie Lang, she asked, “Does he have any special physique?” she fished out a dull red medicinal pill from her storage ring as she came closer.
“What’s that?” Shen Ling asked when she espied the pill.
“It’s just a medium-grade bone-forming blood siring pill,” she said offhandedly.
“Oh.”
When Zi Yu heard the name of the pill, however, she nearly tripped over herself in shock.
“Your h-”
“Hold your tongue!” Yaomu Shou halted her from saying anything more.
She then looked towards Feng Yu. “Does he have any special grade physique? I don’t think anyone of you travelling with Long Di is normal if I’m being honest.”
She was right to think this, Long Di was a freak, Shen Ling was an Abyss Ghost (maybe) and the children's cultivation speed didn’t speak well for them having low talents.
“Well, Long Di said that Tie lang is a Yu, erhm, a Y-Yu… what was it again, junior apprentice-sister Shen Ling?” Feng Yu asked Shen Ling, not quite remembering the name.
“H-He’s an… uhm…” Shen Ling mumbled into silence, not wanting to say anything more.
Yaomu Shou knew what was happening here. The elders from before were going to kill Shen Ling before anything else when they heard of her race.
Obviously, she didn’t want to say anything about Tie Lang that would put the latter in danger, as it did her.
Yaomu Shou took her hand in hers, “I won’t allow him to come in contact with any danger. Trust me. I’ll protect him as I did you. But I need to know as much as possible if I want to help him.”
When Shen Ling saw the look of genuine concern in Yaomu Shou’s eyes, she decided to speak up.
“Senior brother Long Di said he’s a Yu Lang demon.”
Yaomu Shou’s eyes widened in shock, “What!”
Boom!
“Little miss, allow me to take him from here!”
One of the elders watching over Yaomu Shou descended with a crash in a kneeling position with a look of extreme shock and surprise.
“Yes, take him! Don’t worry about anything else!” Yaomu Shou ordered in a rush!
“Wait, where are you taking apprentice brother Tie Lang!?” shouted Jia Yan as the old man took Tie Lang before he could react.
“Hush child!” the old man disappeared with Tie Lang before anyone could react.
