Yaomu Shou saw this and commented, “Oh sh*t!”
Long Di’s eyes immediately flashed open.
****
Several things were considered ‘not a good idea’ in this world. A few things fit this description, things such as drinking water from the tap, slapping a horse’s ass whilst standing directly behind said ass, telling your wife that her dress made her look fat, or farting while someone’s face inexplicably passed in the line of fire.
However, there were things that belonged in the category of ‘oh sh*t,’ and not to be the bearer of bad news, but touching Shen Ling was one of those. Not to mention that Long Di was VERY protective of his friends, doing something that could trigger someone who could very well qualify to be clinically insane just didn’t seem to be something that a straight-A student would do.
In addition, anyone who spent a bit of time with the group could tell that Shen Ling had an interest in Long Di. Grabbing someone of the opposite sex by their wrist was quite an intimate act and not something to be done lightly. This was especially the case if the person doing it was quite literally drooling all over the place with lust screaming its name through their eyes.
Now Long Di had all the emotional maturity of a five-month-old sociopath, but Shen Ling didn’t want even the slightest doubt in his eyes that she would tolerate any other man touching her.
“I would advise you to take your hands off of her,” Long Di said calmly to the Iron Body Forge Sect disciple.
At this point, Pang Renwu Er and Jia Yan stopped their skirmish. The latter didn’t see himself overcoming the cultivation gap between them anytime soon, and the former was too embarrassed to continue.
When the disciple that grabbed Shen Ling heard Long Di’s voice, the look of intoxication left his face only to be replaced by one of scorn.
“Brat! Shut up!” he barked at Long Di.
Hearing this, Shen Ling started to circulate her spiritual qi as the stars in her eyes dimmed, causing her aura to wildly flare.
The disciple naturally felt what he assumed was her resistance to escaping his grasp.
“Are you sure you want to offend a disciple of the Iron Body Forge Sect?” he said with a cocky smile.
Suddenly, the circulation of spiritual qi fell and the ‘stars’ in her eyes brightened once more.
Sending this, the pride and cockiness of the disciple rose once more. His partner, not the one that fought Jia Yan, but the one that watched the fight with him, cursed himself for not acting earlier.
If he had, it would have been he that conquered such a beauty!
Shu!
A gust of wind kicked up and before anyone could react, a young boy with emotionless eyes stood between Shen Ling and the disciple from the Iron Body Forge Sect.
The disciple was shocked by Long Di’s speed, but as a disciple from the Iron Body Forge Sect, he was quickly able to collect himself.
“What? Is she your woman? Too bad! Trash should stay away from treasured pearl!” After saying this, the disciple’s free hand swung in an arc toward Long Di’s cheek.
Another hand intercepted this hand deftly whilst another one snaked its way past to inflict…
Fwhip! Pa!
Everyone from Long Di’s group remained unmoved, whilst everyone from the disciple’s group stood stunned.
The disciple from the Iron Body Forge Sect, in particular, stared wide-eyed at Long Di. The glaring bright red mark on his face was the lone evidence and reason for his current conduct.
“Language.”
This word, spoken so carelessly and impassively, was the one that broke the silence that would have inevitably summoned the rolling tumbleweed. Not wanting to deal with it, Long Di chose the one word that went along with what he did.
Shuddering in rage, the disciple looked at Long Di for a moment, before asking, “W-What did you-”
Krrrsh!
Pa!
Another slap echoed out, one that caused the face of the disciple to cave in before it sent him flying!
Boom!
He smashed into a large rock by the mountainside with a loud crash. He remained unmoving, and so his life and death remained unknown.
The other disciple that saw this pointed a shaking finger in Long Di’s direction, “Y-You… how dare yo-”
Crack!
A fist crashed into his neck, breaking whatever it was that held it together. This disciple fell to the ground dead and Long Di stared at him with unforgiving eyes.
He then turned his attention to the last one that fought Jia Yan in the beginning. His stare caused Pang Renwu Er to pale in fright. When he saw Long Di raising a finger in his direction, he turned around and fled.
Krrrsh!
Lightning crackled along the length of Long Di’s arm before they gathered on his index finger.
Boom!
The arcs coruscated with blinding intensity and their power tore the air apart, causing thunder to boom all over!
Obviously, the rise in his cultivation level increased the power of his lightning qi. Even though this was normal lightning qi, this was still the element with the most destructive potential compared to the other elements.
Long Di’s spiritual force gushed out and forcefully restrained the lightning qi before moulding it into a long spear-like object.
Long Di willed it to take the form of the spear that he created when he attacked the tribulation.
‘How can I turn this into a martial technique?’ He thought to himself. He put little thought into the spear when he used it in his tribulation.
Thinking of this, he closed his eyes and entered his mental space. After thinking for a moment, a thought came to him and he put it to use as a test. He continued to use his spiritual force to carve out the spear.
As this took place, the pressure intensified and everyone here could feel it. Yaomu Shou, especially, was terrified by what she saw.
Maybe no one else here was aware of the significance of Long Di’s actions, but she was. However, she remained silent and watched with rapt attention.
Its appearance as a spear solidified, and its length increased. This appearance nevertheless unsettled Long Di because it made him seem like he was competing for the title of the man with the longest fingernail, a record he had no interest in holding.
With that in mind, he guided it to the centre of his palm. He already had an attack born from his fingers and he needed variety. After all, this is a man of class we’re dealing with.
As of now, Long Di couldn’t bother to further build on it since that disciple was tearing up the road in a bid to escape from this reaper of lives.
Long Di impassively took aim at an opponent that was no longer visible to everyone else. After a slight adjustment, his arm went steady and the aura of the lightning spear stagnated.
Boom!
Eeeenh!
The spear blasted from his palm and tore through the air as it went. The void shuddered and in an instant, the muffled sound came from a distance away.

Xiannu Liang stared at Long Di in a new light when she saw this, “D-Did you ki-”
“Hold that thought,” Long Di interrupted.
Krrrsh!
Without any warning or preparation, the lightning spear materialised in his palm. His spiritual force took a dive before he fired the spear into the rubble where the earlier disciple landed before.
As soon as the spear arrived, Long Di clenched his fist, causing the lightning spear to burst apart.
Bam!
The spear exploded, blasting the rubble apart and whatever poor soul was buried underneath.
“D-Did you need to further desecrate his body like that?” Jia Yan asked, in an unsettled tone.
“That was the problem,” Long Di answered. “I don’t care much for bodies. I prefer a corpse.”
Hearing this, everyone was relieved. This meant that Long Di wasn’t going overboard, but was rather finishing off an enemy that was still alive. After all, they would never leave him, but travelling with someone who mutilated his defeated opponents’ bodies wouldn’t sit well with them.
“Why did you stop me from acting?” Shen Ling finally asked.
Shen Ling was referring to the time she was circulating her spiritual qi to wreck the sh*t of the disciple that held her wrist.
At that time, before anything further came from it, she simply held herself back. However, this was due to Long Di telling her to back down.
Taking out a handkerchief, he began to explain, “I would rather you use your abilities when we’re under less… observation.”
Yaomu Shou reddened with shame when she heard this. “I-I would ne-”
“You have nothing to feel bad about, and it’s not you I’m having reservations against. It’s your babysitters, they’re a tad heavy-handed if nothing else,” he explained.
“They won’t act carelessly like that again,” she quickly explained. “So you can do as you like.”
“Still…” he turned his attention back to Shen Ling as he wiped her hand clean with the handkerchief. “It seems that anyone with historical knowledge will take you for an Abyss Ghost, so maybe lay off on the moves that are… I dunno… abyssal in nature, maybe?”
“Okay…” she shyly whispered as a blush coloured her cheeks. Luckily, the veil was there to block this reaction.
“Uhm, why are you wiping my hands?” she mustered the courage to ask after a while.
“Because the living embodiment of sheer stupidity and what I can describe as ‘basic’ touched you. Now, based on my previous observations, I have no reason to believe that stupidity is a pandemic, but considering how widespread it is, I’m not taking any chances.”
After saying this, he let her hand go and urged everyone to board their furry transportation and move on.
After collecting the disciples’ storage rings, they climbed atop Lord Whiskers Furryback The First and went on.
Shu!
“You know, I can feel your gaze burning a hole in the back of my head. I’m flattered but I’m not interested. You’re far too crass for my taste,” Long Di said offhandedly.
“Screw you!” was the only remark to greet him. Unsurprisingly, this came from Yaomu Shou, who was staring intently at Long Di, sparking his earlier remark.
“What’s on your mind?” he asked, not troubled by her outburst.
She took a minute to calm down before asking, “What you were doing earlier, that spear thing; was that a martial technique you created?”
“Creating,” Long Di corrected. “What I was doing requires the use of a gerund.”
Yaomu Shou was shaken to her core upon receiving confirmation. She was there for the conversation between him and Feng Yu and heard him say several times that he was able to create a cultivation technique for her, but knowing Long Di, that could have very well been code for something either profound or infuriating, there was no middle ground with him.
However, at the end of the day, she didn’t think that he was even remotely serious. You need to understand that cultivation techniques are not a subject that just anyone is qualified to talk about, much less create.
It took the great sages of their world, hundreds, or even thousands of years, to create one.
Uncle Tian Lu spent countless years trying to modify the Breaking Mundane Forging Heaven technique and the Foundation Forge Body Tempering Art, and what he ended up with in the end were leagues worse than what he had previously. Though modifying an existing technique was harder than creating one, the nonchalantness of Long Di’s tone should never exist for this topic.
Yaomu Shou was further ahead than everyone here about the wider cultivation world and as a result, only she could properly react to this heaven-defying action. This reaction was to sit there with mouth agape and wide-open eyes like she drank a mouthful of nightmare fuel, but it was the only acceptable reaction.
Long Di gave her a moment to process this since he was pretty sure that his existence was gonna cause many to go through the same thing.
Once again, the rising temperature was clearly felt, and it caused Xiannu Liang clear discomfort. Her origin as a Nymph made her extremely susceptible to the rising flame fluctuations in the environment. This was felt even through the qi shield that Long Di constructed for the group to protect them from the buffeting winds.
Suddenly, another shield encased her that drastically lessened her burden. She noticed a slight movement from Long Di and was moved that he would do this for her.
She was only at the Cauldron Forging realm and, as such, she didn’t have the ability to erect a solid qi manifestation outside her body like Long Di. This was a skill available to those at the Core Formation realm and above.
The Core in the Core Formation realm was a pearl made of spiritual essence that was then placed in the groove of one’s cauldrons. Reaching this level allowed one to apply the ability needed to create a pearl to other things as well, such as their spiritual qi.
It was this ability that Long Di used to create his several crystal dantians. However, Long Di made no move to retrieve a thanks from her, so she didn’t try to give it. She could only place this in her heart and repay him when the moment came.
“Jia Yan,” Long Di called out.
“Y-Yeah?” Jia Yan was a little shocked as he was absorbed in the rumination of his earlier battle.
“Good job on that cauldron. Impressive,” Long Di had to give credit where credit was due and Jia Yan’s cauldron grade was worthy of that credit.
“O-Oh! T-Thanks!” Jia Yan scratched his head in the face of that praise. It dawned on him that Long Di didn’t praise them much, so the recognition of his efforts was a welcome feeling.
“Your casting cauldron pills helped a whole lot,” he confessed. This made sense, as there would be no other way that he would have been able to forge a cauldron to that high a grade in such a short time. So the pill’s use along with his Zhong Level Earth Grade physique made this possible.
“Do you need to forge it to a higher grade or are you gonna break through to the Second Duan?” asked Long Di.
“Higher grade,” Jia Yan admitted with an embarrassed smile. “I was able to peek into the mysteries of the higher grade and I could feel it would require an inestimably large amount of time.”
Long Di nodded, “I see. Do you want us to get off here to facilitate your breakthrough?”
“Meow!”
Lord Whiskers made a sound to advise that they were here.
“Already?” Long Di was ecstatic even though none but Shen Ling and Jia Yan could tell.
They stopped and, upon doing so, they sucked in a cold breath of air even though nothing of the sort was present here.
Yaomu Shou took a good look around and nodded, “Makes sense. Everyone, welcome to Cavern Flame Mountain.”
