“Why did you have me stand down?” she finally asked him.

Long Di then directed his attention toward her. “Why did you want to kill her?”

  ****

“That was a Mofang Dao!” she said matter-of-factly with hands thrown up in the air.

Long Di stared at her, unmoved at this revelation. “You say that like it explains everything. Tell me what that was and I might actually care that she is a Mofang Dao.”

“IT!” she stressed this word as she refused to recognise the Mofang Dao as a person. “Is a thing that is to be wiped out on site.”

  “Oh, really now?”

“Yes, really!” Long Di’s lack of urgency in this regard seriously annoyed Yaomu Shou.

Long Di was poor and didn’t have enough Fs to give, but still advised her to explain.

  “Do tell…”

To make sure that Long Di was in the know, Yaomu Shou explained what warranted her behaviour in this situation.

A little over eight hundred years ago, the Mofang Dao were on a meteoric rise to power seemingly out of nowhere.

Their older generation was using cultivation techniques and martial techniques at the low-rank heaven grade!

One must know that only top-grade powers such as the ten great sects would have access to heaven-grade martial or cultivation techniques. Even then, they would only be at the low rank at most.

So for many members of the Mofang Dao to suddenly have such high-grade cultivation methods and martial techniques confused many of the powers present.

Eventually, the most powerful of the Mofang Dao came together and created an exclusive Mofang Dao-only sect, and this sect was practically unrivalled.

It was quickly approaching even the ranks of the ten great sects.

To make sure their power wasn’t put into question, they were extremely vengeful. Any Mofang Dao or, even worse, any members of the sect itself would incur swift retribution from the sect itself. This caused their members to be arrogant and unreasonable.

Mercy would bring a slow death to the offender, whilst a lack of such would result in clan extermination.

This ensured that very few powers would dare to stand up against them.

However, something unusual was soon spotted among the members of this rising sect.

Several powers received reports of their sects, or families’ defining techniques being used by the new members of this sect.

Unfortunately, these reports were being passed around by the chaff of the regular sects and, as a result, these reports couldn’t be brought to account.

After all, they were much too weak to seek an answer from the Mofang Daos.

Time passed and this oddity only grew as many of the Mofang Daos were using techniques of even more famous sects and schools.

This sparked outrage among the majority of the sects across the land. It was eventually discovered that the Mofang Daos had the innate ability to imitate any techniques and/or cultivation methods that they came across. Even if one required a special constitution to execute the method or technique, the Mofang Daos would be able to do so.

This meant that no secrets existed in front of the Mofang Daos and the powers could no longer stand for this.

Things reached a head when a particularly famous family had their clan’s defining technique used by a Mofang Dao. This was even worse when the future family head of this clan died to the Mofang Daos.

Shortly after this unnamed clan suffered this blow, one of the ten great sects led a charge composed of a majority of the regular sects to assail the Mofang Daos’ sect.

This was a war that shook the continent as genocide on a scale like this had never been carried barring the genocide of the Abyss Ghosts.

Mountains of corpses towered high while rivers of blood ran for miles. Realising the danger the Mofang Dao posed to the continent, an unwritten rule was passed for Mofang Daos to be killed on sight.

“Not gonna lie, the people in this world are really genocide-ish,” commented Long Di.

“Well, at least now you know why I acted the way I did.” Yaomu Shou said with a shrug of her shoulders. “That Mofang Dao probably assimilated those disciples’ techniques, and that’s why they were hunting her so doggedly.”

“But you don’t know that,” Long Di countered.

Yaomu Shou shook her head. “It doesn’t work like that. We don’t give them a chance to do this period. Those who are merciful to them can even find themselves blacklisted across the continent.”

Long Di’s eyes narrowed, “What does that even mean?”

“Hhmm,” Yaomu Shou innocently shrugged her shoulders.

“Y’all don’t even know what it means.” Long Di threw his hands up in the air and went on his way.

Yaomu Shou ran after him as they continued deeper into the core of the Spiritual Bingqi Realm. The closer they got, the thicker and richer the spiritual energy became.

They didn’t get far when they arrived at a rather odd sight. They found themselves before a massive plain filled with holes for as far as the eye could see.

The holes were about three ft wide and pitch black, as their depth couldn’t be determined.

  D-D-Dum!

Suddenly, Long Di’s cauldrons erupted into being and without warning he fired off a punch towards the opening of the first hole directly in front.

  Shu!

  Bam!

Inexplicably, Long Di’s punch landed on a blur that shot out from the hole!

The blur shot back and landed on the ground some distance away, kicking up a cloud of dust as a result.

Everything that happened took place within the blink of an eye and even Yaomu Shou found it hard to react in time.

By the time she reacted, however, whatever it was that Long Di punched was already charging toward them.

  “Squeak!”

Its cry echoed out and Long Di barely had any time to react when a furry fist came barrelling toward his face!

  Shu!

Long Di hurriedly shifted his head to the side, dodging the attack. However, another fist buried itself in his gut!

  “Ugh!”

The blow elicited a grunt, but that was it. Fortunately, the defence of his physical body alone could withstand the damage afforded him.

A quick analysis informed him that it would take hundreds or even thousands of such blows before they truly affected him.

Still, he was well aware that even given centuries or decades, even water could cut through stone, well… either that or a high-power propulsion system, but you get the idea.

Long Di wasn’t willing to take these hits lying down. Unfortunately, his assailant didn’t necessarily agree with him. To prove this, the creature that attacked him was well on him again.

All he could see was fur, fists, teeth, whiskers!

  Rumble!

The somatic essence in his body rampaged as he circulated the Foundation Forge Body Tempering Art!

  Boom! Boom! Boom!

Faint sounds of thunder could be heard as his somatic essence, which was baptised by tribulation lightning, stormed through his meridians.

‘Breaking Mundane Forging Heaven Technique, First Forging, Nine Tempers!

The flash of a hammer appeared before a flurry of strikes burst out!

  -C-C-Cla-cla-clang!

Most of the hammer strikes landed squarely on the unknown attacker in an instant, which sent them reeling back!

  Boom!

It landed with a crash, kicking up a cloud of dust as well.

This attack definitely did a lot of damage based on the fact that it didn’t start its assault this time.

It took a while for the dust to die down, but once it did, the view of the attacker made itself known.

Lying on the ground was a relatively large body. It was around nine ft tall and a little less than two ft wide. It was shaped like a butt plug and covered in pink fur from head to toe.

Two long ears atop its head twitched every now and again. There were also two huge buff teeth that jutted out from the front.

  A rabbit?

When Long Di and Yaomu Shou saw what it was that attacked them, they were both taken by surprise. It was a rabbit, a rabbit larger than any rabbit had any right to be.

“An Overly Bombastic Brawler Rabbit?” Long Di raised a brow after ascertaining the identity of this particular magical beast.
