A cultivator on a rooftop who was observing the battle asked. “What do you think young noble?”

“I believe Master is needed to take this person down.”

  ****

Long Di effortlessly held up the Ten Worlds before his arm trembled.

  Vrrrm!

Suddenly, a force travelled up his arm causing the Ten Worlds to explode!

Zhanshi Yong flew back while coughing up a mouthful of blood.

He was driving the technique while it was pressing down on Long Di, so he was connected to it. When Long Di destroyed it as he did, Zhanshi Yong suffered an equivalent backlash.

Zhanshi Yong struggled to get back up, but his injuries rendered this task nigh impossible.

  Shu!

Long Di suddenly disappeared before appearing, stooping down beside Zhanshi Yong. He placed his hand on Zhanshi Yong’s head.

“Are you alright?” Long Di asked him.

Zhanshi Yong who was still unsteady from the earlier blow merely nodded confusedly. “A-A little…”

Long Di nodded. “Understood, let’s fix that.”

Before anyone could react, Long Di grabbed Zhanshi Yong’s head and slammed it into the ground with extreme prejudice.

  Bam! Bam! Bam!

Without waiting for anything else, Long Di continued to matchmake Zhanshi Yong’s face and the ground.

If nothing else, it was a match made in heaven.

Everyone went silent as Long Di continued to brutalise Zhanshi Yong.

  “Stop! Stop!”

A roar from afar echoed out, and everyone parted, allowing a powerful elder followed by a group of experts to come forward.

  “Junior, I said to stop!”

The elder bristled in anger as even when he said stop, Long Di was still slamming Zhanshi Yong’s face into the ground like it was going out of style!

  “Come again?” Long Di asked.

  Bam

  “I said stop”

  Bam!

  “I slipped…”

  Bam!

  “Stop!”

  Bam!

  “You!”

  Bam!

Long Di refused to give a damn since he had none to give. He was a true pauper where this was concerned.

After a final smash, he inspected Zhanshi Yong’s face, and it was hardly recognisable at this point. Long Di went to town on Zhanshi Yong.

Only a whimpering sound escaped this once arrogant cultivator.

Long Di released his head, allowing it to fall listlessly to the ground.

The elder’s body trembled in rage when he saw how Long Di ignored his earlier command.

“I am the Enforcement Elder for Golden Lion Gate! Since you are someone who refuses to abide by the rules of our city, you leave me no choice but to take action and suppress you!”

An invisible formless wind manifested showing that this elder was about to subdue Long Di.

“You’re not qualified to suppress me.” Long Di uttered coldly.

“Did you think I didn’t sense it? Your people are all over this place and as such you saw the conduct of Zhanshi Yong, but I’m guessing that since he’s an ‘esteemed immortal…’” Long Di propped up air quotes at the last few words, before continuing, “you deemed Sun Zixin expendable, watched as his treasure got stolen, stood aside when I spoke up for a mortal, and only acted when I bodied this unimpressive piece of   faeces.”

“Lies!” The elder denied Long Di’s accusation. However, as Golden Lion Gate was the host of this event, the matter of security was left up to them.

For there to be enforcers deployed all over made perfect sense, and seeing how the Enforcement Elder himself only came when Zhanshi Yong was on the receiving end of a whoop-ass, lent credit to Long Di’s claim.

The Enforcement Elder naturally saw that everyone else didn’t necessarily believe him and his face reddened in embarrassment.

  “You!”

“Call Wei Yun over.” Long Di commanded, sending the Enforcement Elder into shocked silence. “She is the one who invited me to this place.”

However, when he heard the latter part of Long Di’s words, a sneer made its way onto his face.

He then composed himself and placed his hands behind him. “So you’re just a genius whose lust forced him to lose control. I should have known.”

Long Di’s brow rose in response while Shen Ling’s expression darkened. Mina smirked at this Elder’s naivete.

  Long Di? Lust?

What was next? Common sense in all cultivation novels in the world? Ha!

Xiannu Liang couldn’t pay attention since she was still focusing on healing Sun Zixin who had luckily been brought back from the brink of death

“Lust? You believe I was influenced by lust?” Long Di asked.

The Enforcement Elder smiled and answered. “What is it if not lust? You attacked and wounded a fellow cultivator under the guise that it is for a mortal? A mortal that somehow got his hand on a spiritual treasure? Who would believe this?”

Long Di was aware of what the Enforcement Elder was doing. He was embarrassed at being found out before by Long Di and the latter exposing him in front of everyone.

So to remedy this and save face, he painted Long Di as a lustful youth who acted because he was enamoured by one of Golden Lion Gate’s guests. This way, everyone would forget about his earlier folly.

Long Di thought it was rather pathetic. All of this just to save face.

“Interesting how when I said someone asked for me, you said I was consumed by lust. By your logic, every time the sect master asks for you, your loins must be burning.”

  “Pfft!”

Everyone burst into a peal of laughter after hearing what Long Di said. Shen Ling forgot her earlier anger and laughed without regard for anything else. Mina was on the ground clutching her stomach guffawing uncontrollably.

Xiannu Liang pursed her lips as she tried her best to hold back her laughter, wanting to focus on Sun Zixin. Conversely, Sun Zixin coughed up blood and fell back unconscious when he awakened to hear Long Di’s words.

Sun Mei and Sun Kai were nearly deceased from the level of laughter they succumbed to.

The elder’s face was red from anger. The experts that accompanied him wore strange expressions as they were five parts consumed by anger and five parts dying with laughter.

  “Die!”

The Enforcement Elder rose up to kill Long Di, prompting him to prepare to draw his sabre.

“How about we all take a step backwards?”

A gallant and lively voice echoed out, drawing everyone’s attention.

The crowd looked over to see two people descending from a building top overlooking the fight. One was a woman who appeared noble and humble. Her hair was tied up in an elegant bun, which elevated her grace.

Her porcelain skin exuded a soft glow, and her eyes were both elegant and untouchable, like a phoenix. She was demure but not detached. Cherry red lips were upturned into a gentle smile that stole the hearts of anyone present.

The azure dress she wore set her off even more, making her appear like a true banished immortal.

As a result, many female cultivators in the crowd immediately felt inferior to her.

The other person was a young man. His bearing was heroic and confident. His chiselled features made him appear like a capable general meant to take the charge in the heat of battle. At the same time, his mien painted him like a dependable friend, a partner in life and death, an unusual combination that he somehow pulled off.

His long hair was pulled into a ponytail and kept in place with a simple hair ornament in the shape of a sword. He wore red dao robes that made him appear especially dashing. Also, a treasure sword could be seen on his back.

His eyes were calm and clear, however, much like the sword that was sheathed on his back they hid a terrifying sharpness that couldn’t be underestimated.

“That’s Mad Sword Haoran, one of the Seven Heroes!” One expert blurted out.

“Thank you, miscellaneous expert.” Long Di said to the person who spoke.

That person was surprised that Long Di acknowledged him. He had always been one of those people who just spoke whenever someone powerful or kind of important arrived but never had he been recognised for it.

  It felt good.

Nevertheless, Mad Sword Haoran was not someone to be taken lightly… unless you’re Long Di.

He was one of the Seven Heroes. This was an exemplary set of cultivators who were mainly from the ten great sects. Their cultivation, talent and prowess lauded them as one of the most gifted sets of cultivators within the human race.

They were billions, if not trillions of human cultivators in the world. For anyone to stand out in such a mass showcased how incredible they were.

“I see it’s Young Hero Haoran Jian.” The Enforcement Elder bowed and cupped his fist to this new arrival.

Even though his seniority was above Mad Sword Haoran, the latter was not only from one of the ten great sects; his talents lauded him to go extremely far, possibly becoming a True Star Sage in the future!

“Nonsense, Enforcement Elder Cheng is much too polite,” Mad Sword Haoran politely held the elder’s cupped fist before offering him one of his own.

He then continued. “Enforcement Elder Cheng is truly busy dealing with the issues of your wonderful city and must have been held up as a result. One as powerful as you needn’t stoop to the level of the junior generation. I wonder if you can give this young one face and drop this issue?”

The Enforcement Elder felt good at this. Not only was Mad Sword Haoran giving him a way to step down without losing face, but he also complimented him as well.

For a future True Star Sage to respect him this much was enough to satisfy Enforcement Elder Cheng’s pride.

Like a dignified elder, he assumed a stately bearing and responded. “Young Hero Haoran needn’t worry. I shall give you face today.”

After saying this, he cupped his fist once more and walked away in a ‘cool manner’ with the rest of the enforcement team behind him.

  “Is it the burning?”

  “Pffft!”

The Enforcement Elder nearly tripped and fell when he heard the leisurely voice of Long Di and the question he asked.

He turned back and glared at the young boy, and when he saw the slight touch of a smile on Mad Sword Haoran’s face, he wanted to run back and beat the ever-living daylights out of Long Di, but he held himself back.

For some reason, he couldn’t see himself retaining his dignity if he entertained this eleven-year-old child’s whims.

Many cultivators were still here, as it wasn’t every day that they had a chance to see one of the Seven Heroes in person.
