“Greetings, my name is Long Di. Going forward, could you stop putting your neck in the way of my Saber, please? I’m not a sadist, and you are not my type.”

  ****

Putting his neck in the way of his saber!? Was this brat serious!? Since when did he try to seek such suffering for himself!?

He was only going for the girl on the bed when the saber came out of nowhere and blindsided him!

“You little brat, do you have any idea who I am!?” Tai Ren was absolutely livid that some small character from a backwater village dared to attack him.

“A human trafficker?” Long Di innocently asked.

“A human traffick… What the hell is that!?” Tai Ren had no idea what Long Di was talking about.

“Oh, it’s someone who deals in the illegal trade of humans, but since this is a nymph, should I call it nymph trafficking? Somehow, it doesn’t have the same ring to it.”

“Enough! Get out of my way, and maybe I’ll… what is that?” A flash of bronze lit up his peripheral vision before it became clear what it was once more.

‘Did I truly wander wrongly?’ Was the thought that streaked through his mind.

  Boom!

A cross block was the only type of defence he managed to erect before he was sent flying once more.

When he stood up once more, both Tai Ren’s arms were cracked, but oddly enough, there was no blood that flowed. He seemed to be completely made up of an earth-like substance, similar to clay.

  Vrrmm!

The lines that covered his body were reflected on the ground, and soon after, the earth energy present flowed along the lines and into his body. As this took place, the wounds that covered his arms healed at a speed visible to the naked eye.

  D-D-Dum!

When Long Di saw that Tai Ren could heal, he immediately got annoyed and revealed his cultivation base, causing his cauldrons to burst into existence! They spun furiously as the two Star Cores flashed like stars in the night!

When Tai Ren saw the cauldrons, an overbearing pressure bore down on him. Whatever grade they were was something that defied common logic, and he was blown away by what he sensed.

“This human brat is a two Star Core Martial Master!? Impossible!” Tai Ren’s face was twisted in anger. The appearance of such a genius who was also human infuriated him!

Most demons hated humans, and the mere fact that there was such a young genius amongst them was something that he needed to have corrected by eliminating Long Di!

“Ah! It’s you again, you once half-dead human trash! Why are you still he-”

  Pa!

Zhen Paohui had started to curse at Long Di when a backhand landed cleanly on his cheek!

Long Di hated young masters a lot, and had he not been whisked away by Uncle Tian Lu back then, he was sure that this Zhen Paohui wouldn’t be before him today.

However, when he encountered Zhen Paohui once again, he couldn’t keep his hand from moving on its own. The feeling of slapping a young master was even more exhilarating than simply reading about it!

Truly, reading ten thousand books is not as good as travelling ten thousand miles.

Zhen Paohui was shocked! From the day he was born, no one dared to strike him, but this human felt he was empowered to do so!? What fresh hell was this!?

  “Human trash! You dare to-”

  Pa!

Another slap landed on Zhen Paohui’s face. The power behind this slap, however, caused the skin on his face to split open as it sent him flying away. The blow was too much for him to take and as such, he fainted mid-flight.

When Long Di had slapped him before, he had reigned in his power, but when Zhen Paohui kept on talking, he ‘accidentally’ used more power as a result.

The third elder was enraged when he saw this. “You little beast! Do you know who you’ve slapped!? Immediately ap-”

  Boom!

The giant bronze saber fell to the ground with a resounding crash, shocking the third elder into silence. Long Di merely offered him a side glance with a simple request. “Can you stop talking?”

Tai Ren took the momentary distraction caused by the third elder to charge towards the Nymph once more.

  Shu!

Long Di shot off towards him, brandishing the sabre! Feeling the suppression that came from above, Tai Ren looked back, then up, only to see Long Di descending with an overhead slash!

  D-D-Dum!

Tai Ren’s cultivation base erupted as a unique type of somatic essence spread out in every direction!

Ten red cauldrons, three inlaid with a glittering star core each, quickly materialised as well.

The shock-wave slowed Long Di’s descent, giving Tai Ren enough time to react. He slammed both palms to the ground, and the lines on his body appeared on the ground in a wide area, giving rise to a massive wall!

  Krrsssh!

Long Di didn’t hold back on the power of his strike, and even augmented the bronze saber’s destructive potential with lightning!

  Rumble!

He crashed into the wall with a destructive force that tore it asunder! Tai Ren was knocked back from the point of impact with shock plastered all over his face.

He couldn’t understand why Long Di’s physical strength was so overbearing! By the time Long Di landed, he saw where Tai Ren had created a long ditch on account of the force that knocked him back!

  Bang!

Not giving him any breathing room, Long Di shot towards him once more, unleashing a flurry of slashes with the saber!

The elders were all shocked at Long Di’s combat prowess. There were some areas that needed work, and his technique was horribly unrefined, but it was actually getting better as he fought!

According to the disciples, Long Di was capable of unleashing an attack that could kill this Tai Ren quite easily. However, he didn’t use it. He only brought out his saber.

When they saw how Long Di corrected certain mistakes he made that caused openings to appear, and how he kept modifying his stances during specific attacks, they all sucked in a cold breath of air!

  ‘Overbearing!’

This boy was actually using Tai Ren as a live-practise dummy! It was known to all cultivators that battles were not only the best way to increase one’s cultivation; it was also the best way to refine one’s techniques.

Of course, this was easier said than done. During a battle when one’s life was on the line, a single mistake could spell disaster. After all, who would hold themselves back during a battle of life and death!?

However, this was exactly what Long Di was doing at the moment. Lightning danced along the length of his saber as he continuously unleashed blow after blow at his opponent.

Tai Ren felt suffocated and incomparably angry! This human brat before him wasn’t allowing him any breathing space to retaliate.

Apparently, Long Di realised that Tai Ren needed a bit of time to use his abilities to manipulate the surrounding earth, which is why he was so relentless in his attacks!

  ‘There!’

Tai Ren saw an opening in Long Di’s chain of attacks and exploited it!

  Bang!

An earthen fist landed on Long Di’s chest, sending him flying away!

  “Ack!”

A mouthful of blood erupted from Long Di’s mouth. That last blow caused the blood inside his body to flip!

When he finally landed, he took a knee for a breather as he kept an eye on the enemy before him.

Tai Ren was surprised that Long Di’s injuries were so light. He had been accumulating energy during that last sequence of attacks and he unleashed all that he had stored in one blow. He was expecting bone-breaking injuries at the very least, but it looked like Long Di was only shaken.

The ten cauldrons that spun behind Tai Ren finally entered Long Di’s eyes.

“High grade cauldrons?” This meant that this Tai Ren wasn’t a normal character. For him to forge ten high-grade cauldrons meant that he had access to massive amounts of resources. Moreover, he was also a three-star core Martial Master, one-star core more than Long Di.

It was no wonder that his physical body was able to bear so many of Long Di’s attacks. This was a demon, one who focused solely on body cultivation. The pressure that he emanated was somatic in nature.

It made sense that Long Di was having trouble penetrating his defences. As a matter of fact, it was surprising that Long Di was able to perform the way he had against Tai Ren when all he had received from Uncle Tian Lu was the basic Marrow Chapter.

It showed just how extraordinary the Foundation Forge Body Tempering Art was!

“Tell you what, if you give me the girl; I will leave without further issues.” Tai Ren was surprised that Long Di was so hard to kill.

Based on his estimations, his body should be far above Long Di’s in terms of quality. However, Long Di had surpassed his expectations. As much as he wanted to kill Long Di, the nymph came first. If anything, he could always come back and kill Long Di later.

However, Long Di only raised his saber, using action to answer Tai Ren’s request!

Tai Ren was enraged! He was trying to give this human a way out and he spat it back in his face! “Since you want to die so badly, I’ll help to send you on your way! Landfall!”

He placed both his hands on the ground and the lines on his body released a dim light.

Long Di wasn’t going to give him time to execute this attack. With the saber in hand, he shot towards Tai Ren to strike him down before he could do what he wanted.

At this, Long Di had to thank Uncle Tian Lu for the upgrade to his base strength with the Marrow Chapter.

Without it, he wouldn’t be able to use the saber the way that he had. Even though he had to use the spiritual qi in his body to help augment his strength along with what the Marrow Chapter granted him, it at least made the use of the saber feasible in battle.

In addition to the Marrow Chapter, the reason why he was able to give Tai Ren so much trouble despite possessing a lower cultivation base, was because the speed and efficiency at which he circulated his spiritual qi far outclassed Tai Ren on account of his black cauldrons.

Combined with the suppression that his black cauldrons naturally exuded, and it made sense that Tai Ren was having as much trouble as he did. In truth, this suppression even existed when he fought with the multiple figures in the forest back then, but because he was being dragged down drastically by the weighted armament he wore, this advantage naturally disappeared.

  Rumble!

As he made his way to Tai Ren, the ground started to shake all around when suddenly, the land around Long Di sank down a few hundred metres in an instant!

Long Di was unable to do anything with this. This depth was not something he was able to clear with a single jump.

At the sight of this, Tai Ren released a sneer. “Now die for me!”

He closed the opening at the top of the pit up, and using his control over the earth, compelled the section that covered the pit to descend towards Long Di, intending to crush him into paste!

Long Di saw this and couldn’t delay anymore. He summoned the Destiny Scale outside of his body to regain use of the tribulation lightning energy he cultivated.

The only problem was that the divine nature of this energy was something that needed time to build. However, he didn’t need all of it, just enough to execute a certain attack.

Before anything else, the ceiling came down with a crash! When it landed on the Destiny Scale, its descent actually paused!

When Long Di saw this, he breathed a sigh of relief and circulated his cultivation technique to its absolute limit to prepare himself.

  Crack!

Suddenly, a creaking sound echoed out that jolted Long Di from his cultivation state. He looked to the Destiny Scale in a hurry and could see where the ground under the Destiny Scale and the area above it that held the descending earthen wall in place had multiple cracks!

  “Crap!”

Long Di was aware that the ground below him was hardened to obscene levels. This was to make sure that he would be crushed, and not just comfortably pushed into the dirt. However, the indestructible nature of the Destiny Scale exceeded the hardness of the walls, and as such, it stopped the descent of the ceiling.

But the force that drove the ceiling exceeded the hardness of it, and as such, the Destiny Scale was being pushed down into the ground while it was also piercing into the descending ceiling.

Long Di saw this and immediately shot to his feet and tried to hold the falling wall aloft to keep it from crushing him. Veins appeared on his forehead and arms as he strained to keep it in place.

Even his bones began to creak under the strain. Obviously, if he had not practised the Marrow Chapter, his bones would have already shattered and he would have been crushed already.

Nonetheless, whilst it had indeed slowed down, it was still descending. There was nothing in Long Di’s arsenal that he could use to stop this or escape!

  Dum!

  “Hm?”

Long Di realised that the descent had stopped! Something must have happened to stop Tai Ren from driving this ability.

“The elders!” Long Di quickly deduced that it was most likely the elders that were fighting at the moment to distract Tai Ren. That was the only explanation, but he didn’t know how long they could hold out for!

He didn’t waste any time. He immediately sat down and circulated his cultivation technique as hard as he could. He was sure that time was of the essence and he couldn’t afford to waste it!
