Armaros couldn't wait to be left alone with the baby. He had everything planned out.

"Are you sure the rest are not coming? I mean, I paid for a full party," Christopher's mother asked. Armaros grinned at her and showed her his adventurer's badge.

"As you can see, I am rank B. More than enough to protect your baby from boredom," the woman returned the badge and took her bag.

"Well, he does like you. I will be back in five hours. Help yourself to some snacks from the kitchen," and she was off. Armaros jogged to the crib and took the frog plushie that Christopher loved so much.

"Hey there, Chris. How have you been? I am an actual adventurer now, can you believe it?"

"Gu?" Christopher said, and Armaros handed him the toy. The boy clutched at it and gave it a kiss.

"Yes. And, I have a secret. I am a dungeon core. But don't tell anyone, ok?" Armaros had a hand to the side of his mouth. The boy began kicking his feet. "Christopher, if you tell, I will be in great trouble. I will go to a bad place and my children will be used for food."

At the tone, the baby stopped fussing and hugged the plushie tighter.

"Yes, it is all very dreadful," Armaros informed him, then, he smiled. "But don't worry your head over this. I am under the protection of the guild and presumed dead. I'll be fine."

"Gah!" Christopher exclaimed, looking happier.

"Now, do you want to see what I can really do?" Armaros asked in a sing-song tone. The baby began to fuss again. Armaros picked him up and then lowered him to the ground. "Watch."

And Armaros created a toy wagon on the floor. With animated horses. The horses began to attempt to graze on the carpet, and Christopher blinked.

"Oh," the baby began to poke the horses, who took off in a slow trot around the room.

"Do you want the pretty horses to give Mr. Frog a ride in the wagon?" Armaros asked, and he made to lower Christopher so that the baby could place the toy in the wagon.

"Ga ga," Christopher was having none of it. No one was taking his favorite toy from him.

"Ok, maybe not. Do you want to just watch the horses?" The baby turned its gaze up and blinked at Armaros.

"Gu?" Armaros chuckled. Babies were adorable. More so because they didn't understand a thing. Kind of like hamsters.

Armaros sat and placed Christopher on his lap. He then began moving the babies legs up and down.

"Chris, it is important that you get a lot of exercise. So, you can grow big and strong. Like Dorian and Morris," at the mention of the names, Christopher turned around to search for the two adventurers.

"Oh, they are not here," Armaros told the baby, and its bottom lip trembled. "I mean, they wanted to come, but they had quests of their own. We got roped in fulfilling another party's quota. But, do you know what? I am not angry or annoyed about it. Because I get to spend time with my best friend. Do you know who that is?"

Armaros tickled Christopher's little feet and the baby giggled.

"Yes, you. You little cherub, you. Now, do you want a story? One of my epic battles against the slimes of the sewer, perhaps? You know, my champion was a hamster named Pumpkin. He escaped his home regularly. Before that, I just used mana to block off the evil slimes. But with the brave Pumpkin, I could finally go to the offensive," Armaros boosted and the baby's eyes widened.

"Yes, Pumpkin is brave and strong. He had numerous children, but Leander...gave them boo-boos," the baby gasped, and Armaros was quick to clarify. "But they attacked him first. Granted, he came to take me away from my home. Oh, I can't really defend him, can I? Sometimes, I wonder why I am so attached to him. Why do I let him carry my dungeon core crystal around his neck?"

Armaros brought the baby closer to his chest and exhaled loudly.

"You know, being human is not that bad. They can walk around; have friends they haven't created. Friends that will live on after them, if something happened to them," Armaros murmured. He was glad that Leander had severed the connection between himself and Pumpkin. What with how Armaros was expected to risk his life and all.

"Bu!" Christopher said and Armaros smelled something in the air and chuckled.

"You had your meals, huh? Let us see if it was just a fart, or if you need a change," Armaros carried Christopher to the changing table and untied his diaper. It was slightly yellow and wet.

"Ok, the old diaper goes to the washing hamper," Armaros took the diaper and placed it in the hamper, which was empty, so, he figured that he would need to wash the diaper later.

Then, he took the heated water that had a fire rune in its basin, and washed Christopher's behind. After that, he dried him, put on the powders, and got him into a clean diaper.

"You wait in the crib, now, Chris. I will be right back," Armaros placed the baby back in the crib and tucked him in with the light orange baby blanket. Then, he took the hamper and carried it to the bathroom. Where he found the special baby washing soap, and he began to scrub.

Little Christopher was staring at the ceiling. It was always nice when the brown-eyed one came. The rest of his friends didn't pay him much attention, but the brown-eyed grown-up always played with him.

The baby then looked at his frog plushie and hugged it tight. Mr. Frog had told him that the boy was nice, and Mr. Frog was never wrong. But, the brown-eyed one did not seem to be able to see Mr. Frog in truth. Or hear him.

"And the acorn rolled around, rolled around. On the ground, it rolled around," Mr. Frog sang, and Christopher giggled.
