Chapter 2: 2. Apolcaypse Causalities.

Apocalypse not only came with Zombies but with many Natural disasters. Corrupted elements in the air made people Zombies on the night of Red Moon but after that day the corrupted elements no longer affected people but affected abiotic elements of the environment.

Living organisms, be it plants, animals, and humans or even microorganisms, birds, or microbes, All defected to various degrees. Past studies became useless in front of the variations occurring in the current era.

There were many mistakes made by the people while fighting the apocalypse which even Yu base made. Yu Lijuan was extremely involved in studying the variation of space and time and elements which mutated. Yu Liling had dual abilities of Thunder and air. He was a combat genius and was involved in solving Zombies who could be dangerous. Yu Liwei's ability was sound, he could tame mutated animals. He made a team of Mutated animals protects many normal people. He also solved the Mutated or Zombified animals that caused problems. Yu Lirong on other hand with dual abilities of Space barrier and electricity became a well-known walking electric power generator. He was interested in information gathering and Yu Liqin, As a person with 5 Unique or uncommon abilities was a well-known Hero. He was Yu's base leader because he wasn't interested in research or whatnot, He was only loved new and creative things and the apocalypse was new and creative stuff.

The Mistakes mentioned above were, Low Female population. Among 300 million people only 15 thousand were females when looking it might not look grave but actually, it was a grave number.

Female population in apocalypse mean low rate of children in next generation. But the problem didn't end here. 

In Apocalypse Year 5, the people found that Females couldn't become pregnant. Scientists tried to make them become pregnant artificially but they didn't succeed. Male surrogacy was suggested and after 2 years, they made an artificial Zygote and introduced an artificial womb in the Male body but they failed. After many tries, they found that pregnancy even in males had failed. This caused panic in scientists. No pregnancy means no regeneration of next-generation and as a result Specie extinction. 

But the problems were not less but more, Zombie virus needed a vaccine for normal people. Among the remaining, 300 million people 200 million people were normal people which were vulnerable to the Zombie virus, so Scientist divided their attention to two topics, pregnancy and vaccine.

Another ignorance made by humans was resource depletion, they were so busy fighting Zombies, saving people, and protecting land that they ignored the resources. Water resources became corrupted and only water ability users could make water. The Pacific Ocean became a Big Glacier and Endless blizzards occurred in that region of the world.

The Fertile land was depleted of minerals by mutated plants, Amazon Forest became a barren and wilted place. Drought appeared in Europe. Oxygen amount depleted in air. Metals corroded with time.

Food became less with time, Even after 10 years, people were helpless but not hopeless. Humans in every era and every time were tenacious. Their will to survive was harsh from the beginning of the World. 

Lucy named Yu's base Momento, To remind humans of their glorious past and Warn them for the future.

Right now there are 9 people who are involved in base management.

Apocalypse Year 10, Momento base, HQ, Meeting hall:

All 9 people were present and had excited faces. With a Grand plan in Mind, the 8 people came to Base Leader Yu Liqin with a suggestion.

Yu Lijuan started with a cough.

"Xiao Qin, We developed Zombie Vaccine."

As soon as he said this everyone looked at Yu Liqin, whose expression was as bored as ever. He yawned and said.

"Well done brother, But we developed it 6 months ago, What are you telling me for?"

Yu Lijuan nodded and continued.

"Yes, We did develop it 6 months ago but Xiao Qin, we are in a stalemate with Zombies. If Zombies can be wiped out that is great but if not that is problematic because we still have no result in the childbearing department, If this goes on humans will become extinct in no time."

Everyone once again looked at Yu Liqin who though was lazy, became a bit serious making others nod, Ok, Everything according to plan.

Yu Liling also added.

"And Zombies are also evolving, Level 8 Zombie can almost perceive emotions, and have vivid memories, So the level 9 Zombie will be almost near humans and level 10 Zombie will be on par with Humans, With memories, emotions, and ability to speak and evolve and they regenerate too!"

Base vice Leader, Ivan Yanovich spoke now.

"Also, The natural resources are also depleting, We need to find another source."

Here they started the bait.

Yu Liqin raised his eyebrow.

"Another source for resources?"

Ivan Nodded. At this time Ehsan spoke.

"We have a small plan but we need your help Boss."

Yu Liqin thought and asked.

"What's the plan?"

"Xiao Qin, We found a way to fuse two worlds, Though it is only one side use Gate, that means only our people can go in the other world and come back. The world we found to fuse is...um unique, It has many dangers and needs to be made stable before we can plan anything else. But we can't migrate in that world, Firstly, The world will reject our large population, Second we are already mutated and evolved humans, We can't give birth to the next generation and so we can't take the risk of migration. Thirdly, this is our World and that is a parallel World. We can't go there."

Yu Liqin glanced at everyone in the room and asked.

"What do you all need from me, Speak clearly."

Yu Liling cleared his throat and said.

"You go in that world, Get some resources and um, Find the Pregnancy fruit or whatever they called it, Anyway, We will keep in contact with you from an Artificial System. And you-"

Yu Liqin stopped him with a palm.

"Wait, Wait, Why am I the one who needs to go?"

Everyone: "You are powerful, that place is dangerous."

"...Then why am I the only one going?"

Everyone: "We are busy and you are lazy."

Seeing that he agreed, Cheers broke out in Meeting Hall, Yu Liqin glared at them all and they quieted down.

Ehsan said with excitement.
