"So what did you want to talk about?" asked Aisha. They were all sitting at the dining table eagerly looking towards Satvik, who had called for an emergency family meeting to discuss his departure.

He has already discussed it with Dhruv but now was the time to put it forward before Aisha and Vani. He was not looking forward to the discussion or more of an announcement situation but he knew it hasy to be done sooner than later.

"Mum, I wanted to tell you something important. I have to go to the Medini Academy" said Satvik while fidgeting with his fingers. He already knew Aisha wouldn't let him go that easily. He was ready for the fight that will follow the announcement.

"Okay" replied Aisha nonchalantly.

"It's not wha..." Satvik was about to give further explanation but he stopped mid-sentence.

'Did she just say okay? Did I hear it correctly' Satvik thought while staring in shock, mouth open and eyes wide.

Her expression turned somber, the shock on Satvik's face made her sigh and she said, "I know it must be hard for you to stay in this town ever since people look at you with resentment and suspicion. People around here are afraid of the fact that if you stayed here, more trouble would come for them" she finished and small beads of tears started rolling off her cheeks.

Satvik came next to her and gave her a tight hug and said, "Sheesh mum! You've become such a crybaby." Satvik had known there would be anger and then tears, but Aisha had directly jumped to the tears.

Vani also came next to her and started caressing Aisha's back with a sad expression.

"Sati Bhaiya will you never return to this city?" asked Vani, looking with a wide eyed concerned expression at her brother.

"What are you talking about? Of course I will return, this is where my family lives, this is where my home is." said Satvik reassuring her while ruffling her hair.

"Hehe" giggled Vani.

"And you don't have to worry mum. By the time I return, I would be strong enough to handle bitch of patience and humility, easily" said Satvik while flexing his right arm bicep.

This made Aisha giggle a little but soon with concern she said, "Don't use such words before Vani."

"What are you talking about woman, you always use that word in front of her while cussing those Priestesses" said Dhruv in a surprised tone. He has heard his mother curse those priestesses several times a day in front of Vani.

Sometimes a routine thing would go wrong and she would blame the either one of the priestesses.

"I was just telling her the reality. One should never be ignorant of reality" said Aisha.

"So about the fee of the Aca..." Dhruv hesitantly tried to mention about the Academy fee but Satvik stopped him mid-sentence.

"You don't have to be worried about the fee, dad. Haldi owed me enough that he had willingly offered to cover my academic expenses" said Satvik.

People could either enter Medini Academy through talent or huge amounts of gold.

Although their family income has increased since black pepper cultivation, it was still not close to what a noble could offer for the same seat in the academy.

Furthermore, Satvik wasn't exceptionally talented in the field to get into the academy without any donation of huge amounts.

Vani's ear perked up when she heard that Haldi is going to pay for his brother's academic fee.

She looked at Satvik innocently and asked with a straight face, "So uncle Haldi is now your sugar daddy as well, Bhaiya?"

Satvik froze when he heard his sister's comment. He then remembered that she once asked why Haldi was always surrounded by young women and he explained her heavily censored version of gold diggers and sugar daddies.

"Hell no! He's just my business partner," exclaimed Satvik angrily, trying to control his urge to correct Vani and her understanding of a 'sugar daddy'.

"Sheesh! You don't have to be so angry about it" said Vani while covering both of her ears.

"What's a sugar daddy?" asked Aisha.

"It's nothing. You know how kids are these days, right mum?" said Satvik with a dry laugh.

After a few moments of continuous bantering, Dhruv raised a question, "So how are you planning to travel there?" Travelling so far all alone is not even an option, given the patrolling done by the Theocracy officials.

"A merchant column for the Academy City will be leaving soon. So I'll join them, to ensure my safe travels to the city" said Satvik.

Dhruv nodded with satisfaction. He knew very well when there is a merchant column moving out they always employ adventurers and guards to protect the Caravans.

This was the sole reason Satvik had used this opportunity to assure his parents about his safety and move out of the Doina City.

Satvik entered the building where he had spent most of his days during the past few months.

Inside the building, there was a reception where a person was sitting reading a book.

Satvik looked at him with a gentle smile and walked towards him. The person at the reception also noticed Satvik's arrival.

"So when are you leaving for the Academy?" asked Danny while closing his book.

"Within a week. The merchant column will be taking me to the city, safe and sound" Satvik said hesitantly. Although he wanted to tell his tsundere the truth but he knew if he knew anymore it would only endanger his life.

"Hmm, I will miss conducting our myth-research sessions" said Danny with a smile.

They had continued their research into old myths and legends without the extra thrill of adventures.

"I hope you'll keep on researching further about the other legends and myths as a researcher at the academy" said Danny while pulling out a book and handing it over to Satvik.

"Oh! You got me a farewell present?" said Satvik with a laugh.

"Something like that" said Danny with a poker face.

"Jeez, you have become so uptight. What happened to my tsundere?" said Satvik in a dramatic tone.

"So, this book is a compiled version of different demigods and demigoddess and includes information about most of the noble houses of Baimum Theocracy. I hope it helps you on your journey and prevents you from messing with the wrong people" he said.

As soon Danny ended his explanation Satvik froze. The weight of Danny's words hit him deep and he realized that his tsundere might know more than he let on.

"Haha, did you really think I'm such a fool. I don't know what your real plans are, but take care and always be cautious" said Danny while patting Satvik's shoulder.

Satvik just smiled gently and nodded.

"Wanna unveil one last myth before my departure?" asked Satvik.

"Well, I wouldn't mind. There's a perfect legend regarding some gold or silver axe. It's a perfect one and a quick one too" said Danny with a smile.

"Why have you brought me here, again?" said Satvik with a grim expression.

"Hey! It's already been 6 years since that incident. You don't have to be afraid anymore" said Danny while patting Satvik's back.

"Afraid and me? Who was covering in fear after we returned to the town after the last incident" said Satvik looking at Danny with a smug.

"Damn! Your mother was so furious when her little princess got bit by a gorgeous fish. She came at me with a scythe, like death itself for my soul" said Danny with a sneer.

Satvik didn't say anything and looked away. He couldn't deny that Aisha's reaction was quite uncalled for.

Others were only talking about him being lucky enough to not only see a mermaid but getting a hickey from one. But for Aisha, all that mattered was the fact that his child was bitten by some monster.

"So as I was telling you, this is completely a myth" said Satvik while ignoring Danny's previous comment.

"How can you say that without even trying?" asked Danny.

"I just know it" said Satvik.

He knew this because he had heard the similar story when he was young, in his previous world, the story of a lumber and river fairy.

"We have to try" said Danny and then threw the axe in the stream.

Satvik shook as he knew that nothing was going to happen but Danny was waiting patiently.

Soon some bubbles started coming from below and soon a body popped out from the river but it was just floating without any movement.

The boys got scared and rushed into action to try and save him. Danny dived in the water and pulled out the body and it was a fisherman from their city. They have seen him around the town and in the market several times.

After the pair got rid of water that had entered into his lungs the fisherman woke up. He then looked at the pair in surprise and tightly held onto his head in pain.

"What happened to you?" asked Satvik.

"I don't know. I was fishing some clams from the river bed and suddenly something heavy hit the back of my head and I passed out" he said.

Satvik's accusatory gaze fell on Danny which made the latter look away and whistle.

"Here take care of your fairy, I'm going home," said Satvik sarcastically while leaving the injured fisherman in Danny's care.

"Hey wait! At least help me carry him to the city, so we can get him some medical attention" said Danny.

"Sorry, this princess lacks one limb. Hence, she's unable to help lift heavy objects" said Satvik in a teasing tone while waving his left stump.
