In a cave amidst the vast mountains.
A middle-aged sloppy man sat cross-legged. He placed a spear against a wall to his side. He had been cultivating for a long time with his eyes closed. Finally, he opened his eyes and walked to the cave entrance to look around.
His name was Mao Feng. He was a Great Solar Godfiend from Archean Mountain. He was in charge of patrolling the surrounding 150 kilometers. Of course, he also had two demon servants as part of his team.
Everything seems peaceful today. Mao Feng picked up the gourd from his waist and took a sip of alcohol carefully. He unwillingly stuffed the bottle stopper back. “I only have half of a gourd left out of the three gourds of alcohol I brought. I need to conserve it. It will take half a month for Earth Net’s brothers to deliver another supply.”
Huh? Mao Feng suddenly sensed something and took out his token. A spot lit up on the token.
Demon monarch. Mao Feng turned around and picked up his spear. He ignored his living essentials in the cave and jumped out of the mountain cave. He descended from a quarter-kilometer height before rushing through the mountain forest.
Elsewhere, an armored ape demon servant took out its token and quickly rushed towards an unknown location.
Whoosh. A cyan-feathered bird spread its wings and flew towards its target.
A Patroller Godfiend and two demon servants were in charge of this region. They supported each other to reduce casualties.
Moments later, an elephant demon monarch’s corpse laid on the ground. A bloody hole had been pierced through its head. Mao Feng sat on the elephant demon monarch’s massive corpse and took a sip of alcohol happily. He looked at the cyan-clothed female avian demon monarch beside him and said with a smile, “Beauty Qing, you are really afraid of death. You discovered this elephant demon monarch ahead of time, but you didn’t dare to attack.” The cyan-clothed demoness snorted. “This is a third Firmament elephant demon. An elephant demon has immense strength and thick hide. I’m just an ordinary third Firmament bird. If I were to fight it head-on, I’m afraid it would have torn me to pieces long ago. I circled high in the sky and deliberately attracted its attention. I made it kill fewer people. Without me, I’m afraid dozens of people would have died.”
“Sister Qing, you are sharp with your words. It looks like battles still require Trispear Mao and me,” said an ape demon servant with a smile. “Thankfully, we came quickly this time. If we let it continue, it would have stormed into the village that houses hundreds of people ahead. Hundreds would have died. Trispear Mao, your spear arts are getting stronger.”
Mao Feng smiled. He repeatedly engaged in life-and-death battles due to his life as a Patroller. Due to this, his spear art improved quickly.
“Alright, disperse. Continue patrolling,” said Mao Feng.
“Disperse!” The cyan-robed demon servant and ape demon servant nodded.
Only by splitting up could they find demon monarchs faster. Just as they split up and rushed in different directions, ripples appeared in the void. A gray figure suddenly pounced towards Mao Feng.
Not good. Mao Feng instinctively swung his spear, stirring up a huge gust of wind. A large number of wind blades swept through the area. With a loud bang, a powerful, deep force passed through the spear. He felt blood rush into his mouth as his body was sent flying involuntarily. His palm was numb; blood from his ruptured palm dyed the spear shaft red.
The difference in strength is too great. Request for help. Mao Feng knew the difference in strength. It’s suspected to be a weak fourth Firmament demon monarch.
“Trispear Mao.” Upon seeing this scene, the ape demon servant immediately rushed over anxiously. The cyan-feathered bird in the sky immediately spread its wings and returned.
The blurry gray figure instantly closed in and attacked Mao Feng again.
Boom!
A red glow appeared on Mao Feng’s body. He used a forbidden Godfiend spell as he delivered an attack, fending for his life. At the same time, he shouted angrily through a voice transmission, “This demon monarch’s strength is several times greater than mine. You will be sending yourselves to your deaths if you come. Hurry up and leave.”
Bam! The spear was easily blocked.
A claw shadow struck the red glow around Mao Feng’s body. The red light trembled as it resisted the claw attack.
“A protective treasure? How long can it last? Nine seconds, fifteen seconds?” A hoarse voice sounded in Mao Feng’s ears. The gray figure rapidly attacked, and Mao Feng’s spear art was countered time and time again. Although he had the strength of a peak Great Solar Godfiend, he felt despair when he encountered a third Firmament demon monarch that was comparable to a Marquis Godfiend.

Boom! Boom! Boom!
Mao Feng tried his best to execute his spear art. Even though his attacks were countered over and over again, he continued to stall for time.
The red glow around his body dulled.
Swoosh.
A beam of light flashed across the distant horizon; it was like sunlight. In a flash, it pierced through the gray figure’s head. The gray figure stopped in its tracks and revealed its appearance. It was a gray-fur leopard demon monarch; it had fur all over its face. Its eyes were filled with ferocity as its body disintegrated with a whoosh. It turned into dust that dispersed.
Mao Feng stared blankly at this scene.
“I’ll leave the demon monarch’s items to you.” A voice sounded in his ears. Mao Feng immediately turned his head and saw a midair figure standing in the distance. He nodded slightly at him before disappearing.
“A reinforcement Godfiend.” Mao Feng was overjoyed. He bowed respectfully and said loudly, “Thank you, Senior.”
“So fast? It’s only been six seconds, and a reinforcement Godfiend arrived?” The avian demon monarch landed, astonished.
“Perhaps he happened to pass by.” Mao Feng smiled. He looked at the ground beside him. The leopard demon monarch didn’t leave behind a corpse, but its treasures remained intact. “The senior showed pity on me. He gave me all the third Firmament demon monarchs’ items.”
Mao Feng immediately checked his spoils of war happily. “A storage bag?” Mao Feng revealed a look of delight. “This is great. I can bring more alcohol with me.”
Cough. In his excitement, Mao Feng couldn’t help but cough out blood.
“You were almost killed just now. I’ll bring you back to the city to recuperate,” said the cyan-feathered bird immediately.
Meng Chuan was indeed fast when it came to reinforcing others. Although he had been nearly 500 kilometers away from Mao Feng when the battle had started, he had arrived 50 kilometers away in just six seconds by using the Bloodblade Disc. To prevent any accidents, he released one Bloodblade from afar, which killed the leopard demon monarch. Meng Chuan hadn’t been confident that he could kill the rather powerful leopard demon monarch with Quintessential Essence threads from 50 kilometers away.
He destroyed the demon monarch’s corpse to wipe out any traces of how it died. The wound made by the Bloodblade would attract the attention of others. Thus, it was naturally better to destroy the corpse.
Patrolling Godfiends live out in the wilderness. Every demon monarch they kill might result in an ambush by cunning demon monarchs. Meng Chuan sighed inwardly. This world required patrolling Godfiends since a large number of demon monarchs hunted mortals all over the world, and he couldn’t be everywhere at once. Humanity could only rely on a large number of patrolling Godfiends to hunt the demons. In fact, one patrolling Godfiend and two demon servants were usually enough to deal with second Firmament demon monarchs and most third Firmament demon monarchs.
Only when the occasional powerful demon monarch appeared would they need help.
Many times, Meng Chuan arrived too late to save them. For example, Mao Feng only had 15 seconds before he was killed. Although Archean Mountain gave every Patroller Godfiend a life-saving treasure, Archean Mountain couldn’t afford to give them the best. After all, there were just too many patrolling Godfiends.
However, Meng Chuan was now extremely fast. Almost every request for help within 2,500 kilometers of Meng Chuan was assigned to him.
Deep in the sea, inside a small grotto-heaven.
Demon Sage Nine Abyss and four other demon sages gathered here. There were two additional figures. They were Demon Sage Deep Profundity and Demon Sage Fire Dragon; they had just infiltrated the human world. Of course, these two were only fourth Firmament demon monarchs now.
“Deep Profundity, Fire Dragon, both of you have joined us,” said Yellow Oscillate with a smile.
“We’ve been here for more than half a year. You’ve been out traveling the entire time, searching for world membrane connection points. You only came back after Nine Abyss summoned you,” said Fire Dragon with a chuckle.
“More and more demon sages have come to the human world,” said Yellow Oscillate with a chuckle. “All of them have confidence that we will win the war.”
“As long as we win the war, we will at least be able to obtain a Spacetime Dominion Map,” said Deep Profundity. “The River of Spacetime is vast and boundless. If we blindly enter, we might end up getting lost or accidentally entering a perilous zone. We might even offend some powerful existences. However, Spacetime Dominion Maps have always been controlled by the Imperial Lords.”
“Yes.” The four demon sages nodded.
They wanted to travel the River of Spacetime, but if they went blindly, it was extremely lightly they would die. With a Spacetime Dominion Map, their journeys in the River of Spacetime would be much safer.
