Chapter 9: Ch.9- Speech :(

Hello guys, is your girl Aglaya, and for today's blog I'm going to discuss the importance of having a mentor.

Now, before you say something, let me tell you that I know what you are thinking. Why would I need one? The truth is that if you don't have one already, you probably should consider finding one. Mentors can be very helpful in many different ways. They can provide, after all, advice on how to navigate your career or help you avoid silly mistakes along your way.

That's why I'm cool with school, on a rational level...but my heart, my heart hates it! With all my being, I declare that school sucks and the only reason I'm going to go to this academy is because I want to see the story unfold before my eyes.

At this moment, I'm on Dr. Pekkanen office. Who, you ask? I'm talking about the handsome headmaster of this academy. Have I already said that he's fucking handsome? Because holy, he's good-looking.

 Anyway, I'm with Migni and the good-looking guy, and we are talking about how I shouldn't get cocky cause there is a big difference between new Archmages and old Archmages...I mean, he didn't say that explicitly....nor implicitly, but it felt like that.

"In this academy you will learn from the best of the best, from the Emperor of Magic to the Wizard of the North, we will craft you into the best person you can be"

Who? Ah right, those guys. I remember how my ex-teacher taught me about them, I forgot they even existed. Mmm? Migni look hella surprised right now. Girl, you alright?

"Tomorrow will be the opening ceremony, as the representative of the first year  'S class', you will give a speech, so make sure to be prepared"

Uh? Me, speech, uh? Oh no, oh no OH NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOO...Not again, the Vietnam flashbacks...Ahhhhhhhhh!

Good morning everyone one! Today is a good day, and I'm sure it will stay that way! I'm so excited to make my speech that maybe I'll vomit from emotion!

I'm in my new room on the academy, it's situated on top of the tower where students live, the views are incredible~ Let's start the day by eating breakfast! 

When I arrived to the dining room, the food was already made, as expected of my maid, always so reliable! Cannot even make it late for one day, uh....Well let's start eating, slowly...very slowly.

"Miss, if you eat that slow, you will miss the opening"

Oh? I see....silly me.

"Miss, your uniform is ready, when you finish eating your meal, we will start preparing, I hope you already did your presentation"

"Yeah, I did (Noup)"

"Good"

"...Is there a need to be in such a hurry..."

"YES"

"...won't my illness be a problem?"

"No one will approach you in my watch, plus now that you are ten, people being just close to you isn't a problem anymore, if they don't touch you it will be alright"

"..." Damn...

After finishing eating, I take a quick shower and brush my teeth while Migni combs my hair. Then she helps me put on my uniform. It's pretty much your standard school uniform but this one is version rich. It's black with a long skirt and stylish shirt. It sticks with my aesthetic, not bad.

Once Migni finishes getting me dressed, I leave the room and go down the building using an elevator that works with magic, I think this elevator is reserved for special people like me because I don't see any other students here. How nice of them, preparing this for me~

After arriving to first floor, I saw a hell lot of students with blue, red and purple uniforms. Does everyone have a different uniform color depending on their class? I see, fufu, I'm special after all, because I'm black! Yeah, my uniform is black.

When I stepped out, the atmosphere suddenly turned tense. Is because my black uniform, or because it's me? I hope that it's because of me, because if it's because of the black uniform...it will say a lot about society.

Ok guys, stop looking at me that much...I don't need more pressure, I already have a speech to do... Ugh, let's get this over with. 

I and Migni begin to head towards a large building where the opening ceremony will take place. Along the way, I see a lot of students of many different races. Humans, and elves are the most numerous, but I also see some dwarves, gnomes, orcs and centaurs. It makes me wonder how they got accepted in the academy, aren't orcs stupid...or I'm being racist?

Whatever, the most important thing right now is that I haven't seen any black uniform apart from mine, so that makes me pretty special, doesn't it. Of course the speech is important but my individuality in superior to collective so...what does that even mean?

After arriving, we enter a big hall and some security guys escort us to the backstage, there I see familiar faces. There are 10 people with black uniforms just like mine, aww...I'm no longer special? 

Between black uniform guys, there are elves and humans, and also one...dryad? Interesting. 

Well, where did I see them before? Mmm...Oh? No way, are these guys are the senpai of the main character... I remember them! If they are here, that means that the main story still.......5 years away from starting. 

NooOooOooo! 

Wtf!? Belgus!!! Shouldn't you meet the protagonist after your homeland gets destroyed!? I saved the kingdom of crap from destruction, what were you doing the next 5 years!? Bitch, you made me misunderstand. Ugh...I'm so pissed off!

"Nice to meet you, I'm-"

"Piss-off"

I'm so mad, I- Oh? Did someone talk to me? Oops.

"Miss..."

"Tsk! Don't get too full of yourself" A human boy with red hair and piercings that had around 13 years old told me with an exaggerated angry expression.

Oi! Calm down, it was just a reflex...whatever, he already left to speak to other guys. It seems that everyone heard what I said to him, cause no one approaches me anymore... Genial! Now my school year is decided, no friends and no main story, brilliant.

Ugh, I hate school...

"Good to see you, young lady.

Your time has come, please get on the stage and perform your speech"

Oh? Hey Dr.Pekkanen! How are you? I just ruined my school life for the next 5 years, have, how is your day going?

"Good luck miss"

Thanks Migni, always with me...let's get this over with.

Slowly I get on the stage, the  'S class' guys, follow me from behind. Once I arrived, the director of the academy, Dr.Pekkanen, gives me some type of microphone, the inevitable moment arrives...

I didn't prepare any speech, so what do I say? Since my school life is already ruined, might as well just say something badass....like.....for exemple...

GOD DAMMIT! Why does this happen to me! I don't want to be here! Ugh! I hate this world, everything is too unrealistic!

"So, uh, about the speech..." 

Shut up headmaster! I'm taking my time. 

Ok I got this! Let's just go with....something like 'we need to get along. Don't get in the way of other's liberties for a peaceful school year'. That sounds cool, Ok, here we go.
