Chapter 40: Gifts for the Trio

Going back downstairs, Nox and Haruhime face the jealous gaze of Lili and the proud gaze of Aisha.

'She got ahead of me!' The pallum thought with frustration.

'As expected of my little sister, she grew up so fast and got a man all by herself!"

The amazoness thought, shedding a tear of pride like a proud parent seeing her daughter getting married of to the love of their life.

*cough**cough* Shiki choughed twice to bring everyone's attention to himself.

"As I'm sure you both noticed Haruhime and I are now dating . . ." But just as he started Haruhime added another sentence from the side.

"But do not worry, so long as you prove yourselves, you too may be blessed with the privilege of becoming danna-sama's wifes!" She said with her eyes shining, already intending to draw to two girls before her into the pit with her.

Lili just froze not knowing what to say and this time, even Aisha was surprised with the swords smoothly coming out of Haruhime's mouth while Nox just facepalmed at the situation.

'Going from darling's genuine reaction, this is all Haruhime. I never expected that shy girl that would faint at the sight of slightly exposed men would come out with these words . . .' Aisha thought to herself.

'Still, this way I don't have to feel guilty about stealing my little sister's man!' She thought while "hungrily" licking her lips.

Meanwhile, Lili who had rebooted thought to herself.

'This thieving fox! She sure hid herself well . . . I was too preoccupied with the amazoness harlot and let her slip by undetected. Damn!' She reprimanded herself while cursing Haruhime.

'Well, at least she doesn't intent on monopolising Nox-sama at all and is fully willing to share. In fact, she even seems to encourage it. This is good but somewhat frustrating as well . . .'

'Although it means she won't block my approaches on Nox-sama, it makes me feel inferior since it was quite hard for me to accept there would be more . . .'

But then Nox brought all their attention away from the matters of the heart to more material ones.

"Aside from by relationship with Haruhime, my ability to strengthen you all as also improved so let's take care of that now shall we? Please uncover your backs so I can access your statuses."

Both Aisha and Lili were curious and wanted to ask questions but just decided to follow his request and show their backs. They would naturally find out what it was afterwards.

Checking both of their statuses, Nox found out that unfortunately, Aisha did no possess any more spell slots other than the one her own original magic occupied.

As such, the only thing he could do was upgrade it. Fortunately, unlike Haruhime's Uchide no Kozuchi this was a rather simple task.

It seemed Aisha needed to use it through her weapon so Nox got rid of that limitation and eliminated the chant, the spell was a red shockwave slash like a shark fin cutting through water so taking from that theme, Nox changed the spell around a bit more.

Hell Kaios: Released a red shockwave that travels through any surface including the air, tracking its target, slashing and parting any obstructions. Power and trajectory can be controlled by the user and multiple shockwaves can be released at once.

His work done, Nox had Aisha get back up and explained the change in he made to her magic. To say she was shocked by the facts that he could modify her own magic through one of his skills would be a huge understatement.

But, being the thot she was, Aisha immediately threw herself onto Nox saying she would "thank" profusely for this gift in a very suggestive tone.

Alas, Lili who was still waiting for her own upgrade, would not be letting this "gratitude" happen for now and Nox once again got to work.

Lili had two slots with one of them being filled by her original magic. Nox had no intention of making her magic focused so the spell should be a type of enhancement like his Berserk.

First things first, Nox upgraded her magic Cinder Ella. He removed the chant first, even if it was a very short one, in battle, every second counts.

He then removed its greatest limitation which was the fact Lili could only transform into something of similar size and mass. This however greatly increased the Mind cost the greater the difference in size between her and her desired transformation.

For the second slot, after a bit of pondering, Nox decided to make it a continuously active curse based on his Berserk but with different conditions.

Berserker: Curse that increases all the user's abilities by converting damage from attacks into power. Blocked attacks still charge the curse to a lesser degree. It has an active trigger to unleash the stored energy thus granting its boost and temporarily bestowing the development abilities Healing Power and Spirit Healing.

After making this curse for Lili, Nox was already thinking about making changes to his own Berserk magic but he would leave that for later as he addressed all three of the girls.

"Alright you three! That was a bit of sudden inspiration but let's get back to the matter I originally wanted to speak to you about. I'm sure you've guessed it already."

"Our weapons~?"

"Our weapons!?"

Aisha and Lili said in tandem while Haruhime had not guessed at all since didn't really pay attention to those sorts of details.

"That's right!" Nox proudly replied.

He then properly explained each weapon's effects to their respective wielders and asked for their honest impressions.

"So how do you like your new tools of destruction?"

Aisha was the first to answer.

"To be honest . . . These are weapons fitting for a top level adventurer rather than a bunch of Level 1s, specially since they're yet to be seen magic sword hybrids. It almost feels like a waste for us to use them . . ."

She was uncharacteristically negative but soon changed her tone.

"But I'll just consider them the enormity of darling's love for us!"

For once, Lili was in full agreement of Aisha's words, both her negative first opinion as well as her second, more positive and affectionate one.

Haruhime on the other hand was simply over the moon. Not because she received a powerful staff but because she received a gift personally crafted by her dearest husband.

"Before you test these out in the dungeon tomorrow, let's take them to the Hephaestus familia first so that they can check them out." Nox said.

"Nox-sama, are you sure It's a good idea to reveal these weapons to others?" Lili worriedly asked.

"I have to agree with the chibi on this one." Aisha seriously commented.

"Why? Isn't it good for danna-sama to get recognition for his work?" Haruhime naively asked.

"Not when his creations caan make him the target of a lot of Orario's factions!" Aisha explained.

"Well, considering Nox-sama's familia, even if these were revealed few people would try anything on the surface but there's no telling what kind of dastardly tactics they may use in the background." Lili considered out loud.

"Darling's familia? Now that I think about it, darling never got to tell me and Haruhime what familia he was in . . ." Aisha said as she turned to Nox for an answer, Haruhime listening by the side.

"I'm in the Loki familia." Nox casually said.

"Lok-!? I see . . . then you do have a good layer of protection against most factions' possible bad intentions." Aisha said.

"There's no need to worry about that though." Nox assured them.

""Why not?"" Lili and Aisha asked while Haruhime just took his word for it, ever the obedient wife.

"First of all, I'm close with the Hephaestus familia's captain and the goddess herself so they wouldn't spread that info around unless I want them to . . ." Nox started.

"Secondly, we're actually close enough that they would also protect me in addition to my own familia in case of any problems occurring . . .'

"Thirdly, I'm actually pretty tight with the Hermes familia which are definitely one of the most well informed familias in all of orario, possibly the world. So if anyone tries to plot against me, they probably won't be able to hide it for my knowledge for long."

Lili and Aisha were beyond shocked at the sheer amount of high level connections Nox had while the sheltered Haruhime didn't quite understand what it all meant but Nox still had one thing left to say to the three girls.

"And finally . . . It's not like I don't have my ways of dealing with such . . . Nuisances . . ." He said with a chilling and ominous tone that promised endless suffering and despair.

Haruhime just thought the villainous Nox was just as charming as the heroic one.

Lili became much less worried since she knew Nox wasn't the goody two shoes type that would fall for schemes of others.

As for Aisha . . . Nox's words and aura just got her unbearingly hot, she couldn't wait to be ravaged by him as she suggestively held her own body while "hungrily" licking her lips like usual.
