Chapter 16: 16 – Garden

"Come here kazuma-kun! This place is amazing"

The place has a garden so we wander around the to explore. If you ask me, it's quite large. From greenish plants that stretch as far as my eyes can see to kois swimming happily in a pond with a bridge over it.

"Look, look! They even have koi here! They're so big!"

I went to Mutsuki's to look at the koi, and they're incredibly enormous; each one is about the size of a ruler.

A strong blast of wind passes around our area, making Mutsuki's long, golden hair flutter beside her.

I'm now marveling at her figure with both eyes fixed on her. She's still as stunning as she was the first time I saw her.

"Hmmm? What's wrong Kazuma-kun?"

"O-Oh, it's nothing. It's just that you're so beautiful that I can't take off my eyes on you"

I blurted out what I had in my mind. 

"Ara~ That was unexpected but I'm really happy for the compliment fufu~"

Ah, I guess I don't regret saying it on purpose, I thought. 

"Then, I want you to take a good look and never take your eyes off of me."

 

 

 

We continued walking around at the garden, enjoying the scenery around us. Mutsuki is walking at my side with a gleeful expression. For some reason, she is in a good mood and I am happy seeing her in this kind of expression. 

While we were walking around, we found a wooden bench that. It doesn't have any dirt lying around and it's a sign it was well maintained by the people who were working here.

"Hey Kazuma-kun, should we sit there?" Mutsuki asks.

My feet is getting numb from walking around so it doesn't hurt sit for a while.

"Sure, why not? I supposed we could take a little break" 

The two of us went and sit at the bench while being each other's side. It feels like we're but we're not, unfortunately.

The weather is as clear with no signs of rain clouds appearing anytime. The sun is basking an orange glow, signifying that it's already late in the afternoon. It radiates a decent amount of heat but not so much as it could make our skin hurts.

Both of us are silent while we were sitting. No one engages a conversation so I have no choice but to stay silent.

I'll just gonna take a look around to kill some time I thought.

Eventually, the silence has been broken by Mutsuki

"You know Kazuma-kun, I am really happy that you went along with me. To be honest, I'm scared that you wouldn't accept my invitation."

"What makes you think that?" I asked.

"Because I thought that going with me makes you feel annoyed or you might think I'm a nuisance."

I've never thought of Mutsuki like that ever since we first met. Well, I sometimes do think that she's annoying but I don't see her as a nuisance.

I replied, " No, I don't think of you like that."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Really, really?"

"Really, really."

Really, really, really?"

"Really, really, really."

As she repeatedly said those, she's getting closer and closer and eventually leans onto my side. 

She's too close! I thought. I still can't get used to her being so close to me even though we've been at each other for a while now.

The silence has come once again after that. I still don't know what to say so there's no other things to do other than just remain silent. You know what they say, silence is the best answer to everything, at least in this kind of situation.

I take a look at the person that's been leaning in my shoulders and she looks like she's been sleeping as both of her eyes are closed. She's so beautiful even when she's asleep that it makes me want to pinch her cheeks.

No, no pinching is not good. How about just touching her cheeks then? It doesn't hurt to just touch it right? Right? Wait, why am I even doing this?

As I am having conflicts at my inner self, I slowly touch the cheek of the asleep Mutsuki beside me. Surprisingly, it's pretty soft and squishy like a marshmallow. So this is what a girl's cheeks feels like.

I'll just have to pray that I won't get caught by her I thought while still pressing her squishy cheeks.

"Hmm..."

Ah! She's awake!

"Kazuma-kun?"

"Y-Yes? I didn't do anything"

"Can we stay like this for a while?" Mutsuki asked me while looking at me with those bright, sparkling eyes. Can I even say no with that kind of expression?

"Uhhh... Yeah, sure." I responded with a hint of nervousness at my tone.

"You don't mind it?"

"I don't really mind if you're happy with it."

Then, Mutsuki proceeded to hug my body like I was a teddy bear. I can feel her warmth from her hug and a soft feeling coming from her chest. I am trying my best to contain my nervous reaction in order to not disturb Mutsuki.

"Heehee. You're so kind Kazuma-kun." say Mutski with a bright smile that could heal a man's heart. 

After that, we stay at our position and Mutsuki went back taking a nap at my shoulder. A few hour has passed and the sun is slowly setting down into the horizon. The sun's ray's is hitting us but it's not that really hot. 

"Hey Mutsuki, we should go back to our room"

"Nnhh..."

"Mutsuki?"

"Hmmm...."

"Come on, wake up or we're going to miss dinner"

Eventually, she slowly wakes up, turns around, facing to me.

"Nee, can we hold hands when we get back?"

"H-Huh!? Right now??"

What she said is so sudden that I can't help but be shocked. The two of us holding hands?? This is so sudden!

"Yes. Right now. Can I?"

She's making that puppy face again! Arrghh I'm so weak at that!

"You do really enjoy doing this huh?"

Both of us went back to our room, holding hands together. And I can feel that she's enjoying this moment. Well, as long as she's happy.

 

 

Finally uploaded a new chapter. School makes me busy but finally I can now add new chapter lol. Can't promise you that I can upload a new chap after this but I will try to do so. And Happy New Year to everyone and thank you as always for reading this!
