A wave of relief crossed Mia's body when she saw the silhouette of the vampire and the werewolf who had come to rescue them from this catastrophic situation. Zerkan was calm, ready to change into a wolf at any moment to fight, and was simply waiting for his opponent to signal the start of the fight, but Vassili got ahead of them by throwing himself on the Vila, green with rage. The professor had told them that he had lost his human wife during the genocide and that he had a score to settle with the warrior. It was not complicated to understand that Solomon must have been the murderer of his beloved.
Vassili had charged with a long, thin dagger that Solomon countered easily with his two sickles. The vampire wore his magical creature face, with his emaciated features, his grayish complexion, his sharp nails, and his canines ready to tear the flesh. Seeing his comrade launch the assault, Zerkan transformed into a majestic brown-furred wolf and took advantage of the warrior's defensive position to bite him on the arm. Solomon grumbled, but a powerful blow from both arms was enough to push his attackers back. The duo spent the next two minutes dodging all the blows as the Vila kept trying to impale them with his sickles. As if his power alone was not enough, his weapons were particularly lethal and he knew how to handle them perfectly. Even in two against one, he managed to put his opponents in difficulty.
"I'll go get Oz," Arry said, getting up.
Andrei advised the young woman to stay safe on the sofa, but the stern look she gave him dissuaded him from insisting. Now that their two enemies were occupied, she was just waiting to sneak into the room in which her totem animal was being held as a prisoner. Luckily, it was one of the rooms opposite the entrance, which would allow her to access it without having to approach Solomon. She would pass by Ethan and his mother, but the two were far too busy with each other to bother with the redhead.
Andrei wanted to follow her, probably to help her open the door, but changed his mind when a detonation echoed in the tower, followed by a return of flames whose heat came to lick the body of Ethan who was fighting not far from the hallway. The wizard focused on Impervia instead and decided to help the Vila by preparing his quicksand spell to try to block her in place. Before he could even finish reciting the few words that served as his incantation for his spell, Impervia leaped up and the palm of her hand crushed on his chest to send him waltzing powerfully against the wall next to the two remaining young women.
"Ouch," Lily reacted for the first time.
She got up immediately when she heard the young man's body slam against the stone and then fall heavily to the ground. Mia, shocked to see the wizard totally stunned – he had passed out from the shock of the impact – also approached him to make sure he was alive. As the fighting raged around them, Lily's hands moved over the wizard's body to feel his pulse and then generate a magical diagnostic to make sure the damage wasn't too great.
As green light shot from her hands, a sign that she was focused on the young man's body, Arry rushed to their side upon seeing her ex-boyfriend on the ground. Oz had jumped up with her and immediately started growling at the wizard remembering what he had done a few weeks ago. However, the animal ended up calming down when he saw his mistress kneel beside the magician and direct her worried eyes toward the fairy.
Ah, she hasn't moved on yet, mentally noted the blonde, unable to prevent a small smirk from appearing on her lips at the irony of the situation since her friend was certainly worried about the wizard.
Whether she forgave him or not was up to her. Mia would be happy no matter what her friend chose, as long as she was happy. Assuming they made it out alive, of course. Her gaze swept the room to quickly learn where the various fights that could not last forever were heading. Zerkan and Vassili were gradually managing to injure Solomon, judging by the few more or less deep cuts on his skin and the drops of blood that were beginning to stain his clothes and his complexion. Gradually, they were able to corner him enough for the warrior to come to a serious fight and let his inner Vila take control, which eventually brought the fight back into balance. The more the duo coordinated and worked their timing together, the more Solomon gave free rein to his raw strength.
Not far from the trio, the fight between Ethan and his mother was not what one could call balanced. For this reason, the Vila did not want to fight against his mother. He wasn't stupid, he knew he didn't stand a chance. The fight was clearly not to his advantage and his lack of experience was felt by the decades of his mother's life and his years of war ingrained in her muscles and her brain.

When she grabbed Ethan by the neck and slammed his back against the wall lifting him into the air, Mia stood up, worried. The Vila's claws dug once more into the skin of her mother's arms, but she was unfazed by the pain, or rather, she ignored it altogether.
"You defended yourself well, but it's time to say goodbye," she announced, firming her hold on her son's neck.
Mia didn't think twice when she saw her soul mate in mortal danger. She hesitated for a single second between throwing the vial of sleeping powder or using her revolver, but Irina's voice reminded her of the reality of the situation.
You must not hesitate to shoot.
Without trembling, in a total concentration that surprised even her, her hand slipped under her jacket which concealed the holster, and her fingers closed on the handle of the revolver. While the two enemy Vilas were busy and paying no attention to the poor human she was, she positioned the weapon at eye level, both hands steadying the revolver. Aiming at the woman wasn't complicated since she wasn't moving and she was offering her back to the blonde without worrying about what was happening behind her, but Mia couldn't quite place her heart. If she didn't mortally wound her, Impervia would surely not let go of Ethan, even in surprise.
One last breath before firing, and her finger squeezed the trigger. A detonation sounded followed by a cry of pain from the Vila which completely dropped Ethan in astonishment. The son collapsed on the ground bringing his hand to his neck marked by the grip of his mother and trying to catch his breath. She turned sharply, her face flushed with anger as her white shirt stained with her vital fluid.
I missed, she sensed, preparing to fire a second shot to make sure she couldn't hurt Ethan again.
Before she could pull the trigger again, a wounded Solomon lunged at the shooter at a run, ready to lay down his life to defend his mistress. He was way too fast for the young human, and it was obvious he was going to block the blow and land one back before she could finish off Impervia. Did she still have time to shoot the Vila? Her body experienced the scene almost in slow motion, her eyes watching the warrior charge at her as she struggled with her limitations to change her firing path fast enough.
It's over, he's too fast.
