The sound of bright laughter echoed in the mirror halls.
“Hahaha! Teehehehe! Not like that you fool!” Ezme giggled as she sat on the floor, striking it with her palm while she held her stomach.
Amara smiled and rubbed her forehead. “You told me to use my head next.”
“Not literally you nitwit! Hahaha!” Ezme burst into another fit of giggles.
Amara’s lips twitched. “If you didn’t mean it literally, you should have said it in a different way.”
“Oh my, whatever do you mean? The meaning should be obvious. It looks like I overestimated the intelligence of mortals.” Ezme grinned as she teased.
“And here I thought that the high-and-mighty angels of heaven would know the basics of socialization.” Amara retorted. “I suppose maybe mortals are the only ones, and the heavenly messengers are socially incompetent. How ironic.”
“Insolence! Such insolence!” Ezme exclaimed and smiled wryly. “Prepare for divine punishment!”
“Oh divine paragon, show this mortal mercy!” Amara begged exaggeratedly.
“Now that’s how insufferable mortals should behave!” Ezme smiled triumphantly.
A month had passed since the armistice was declared. Since then Ezme had stayed with Amara, other than when Amara took breaks to sleep or bathe. But Amara soon noticed, she needed no sleep - she could, but it was becoming increasingly difficult. In order to even have a chance to feel tired enough to fall asleep, she’d have to spend hours of training.
Lying in bed to try and sleep instead made her restless. The eternal day in heaven didn’t help either, with light streaming in through the windows uninterrupted. So instead she laid to contemplate in silence, discounting the whispers of the incoming prayers.
When Ezme excitedly returned, she would always bring up new ideas for Amara’s training; stolen goods in hand.

It had become a routine.
Amara let out a long sigh. Ezme’s sadistic tendencies were flaring up again.
Ezme would try to trick or bait Amara into doing different things. And follow up with jokes about mortals’ inferiority. And the occasional insults.
After they had returned to her chambers from the meeting on Teyrin, Ezme had picked an empty room to use for training.
There she taught Amara new skills, and Amara began learning them.
Like she was now. This time she was training how to use her divine body enhancement skills.
When Amara’s body started to become strained, it would be subconsciously enhanced by her divine power.
The skills Amara was now training were ones Ezme had helped her create that maximized the flow of divine power above what the subconscious could. Like class skills would, Ezme explained. Amara had recently been training the skill Divine Punch; concentrating the divine power into her shoulder and chest down to her fist while limiting the divine power elsewhere. After the last punch Ezme complained about her stance.
When Amara had asked what was wrong with her stance, Ezme had contemplated after exclaiming ‘I know! Try using your head this time!’.
Amara had suspected it was another of Ezme’s baits. The long hours of training would make Amara restless, mentally if not physically. Ezme’s playful diversions would lessen the tension, so Amara played along.
The end result, being the laughter that could be heard which eased Amara’s heart. And a new skill.
