Amara had finally trained Realm Gate and Filch to the point that she was confident that she would be able to bring items over from other realms.
With Ezme’s guidance, Amara was able to see the world she had known as her home. Seeing it had felt surreal, and caused a spike in her emotions.
Amara had once again wished to go back in time to be with her parents. Even her foster parents who she despised didn’t seem that bad of an option anymore.
As Amara had begun to weep uncontrollably, Ezme had draped her arms and wings around her.
Normally, whenever Amara began to show signs of emotional distress, Ezme would run off to Earth and bring back smoothies or something else. It had made Amara irritated, even if she appreciated the gesture.
But Ezme was finally there for her without running away.
“Tell me what troubles you.” The angel had said as she held Amara. Amara would have burst into laughter if she hadn’t been overwhelmed by her emotions.
Damn angels are socially inept sometimes. Amara had thought.
“I miss home.” Amara had finally managed to let out with a broken voice. The home that she had experienced with her parents was what she truly missed. Her true home.
“...I’m sorry.” Ezme eventually whispered. She would repeat the words while pressing her warm wings against Amara’s back.
Amara had wrapped her arms around Ezme’s small frame and wept against her shoulder. A part of her wanted to be angry at Ezme, but as she heard Ezme’s voice break too, Amara realized that she truly cared.
Ezme hadn’t wanted to make a mortal the champion. They were both victims in a larger game.
Although Amara couldn’t see Ezme’s face nor hear her weep, she was certain that she too was crying.
“You're not alone. Things will work out.” (Ezme)
Even through the broken voice that carried the words Amara could tell that Ezme meant them. Ezme believed things would work out.
But it had still taken a long time for Amara to calm down.

Amara began to put her master plan into action.
However she had to be fast, and cast her filch through the portal as soon as it was finished forming while keeping her eyes on the item she wanted to bring with Farsight.
The concentration it took to do all those things at once was considerable, but as a result her Willpower had increased.
[Thump!]
Her first choice had been books and other things that could be considered less fragile. Amara’s bed had also found itself used for a new purpose, other than rest and relaxation.
Namely, as a cushion for the things Amara brought through.
You know, I never felt like stealing anything before. I always thought that I should earn the money needed to buy what I wanted.

But now, I think I deserve to get the stuff I want. It’s not like I can pay for them anyway, and I’m not going to spend a millennium in boredom. And I need to get stronger too.
Amara smiled as she climbed onto the bed and looked at her latest catch. It was a laptop, stolen from a warehouse.
Though one could consider that the losses to the company that the laptop was stolen from, would be greater than one computer. Amara’s Filch spell had caused the shelf to topple over.
Amara had chosen to disable her Farsight before she witnessed the end result.
I hope nobody gets into trouble for that. Would be a shame.
Amara inspected the cardboard box and read the details before she sighed with a smile on her face as she held it to her chest.
Brand new. Good specs. And didn’t even cost a penny. Aah, finally things are looking up in my life. Baby, we have so much to catch up on.
“You mind wiping the drool off your face?” Ezme’s unamused voice came as Amara was holding the cardboard box to her chest.
“Are you jealous?” Amara winked.
“Certainly not! But you look unsightly!” Ezme pouted. “Like a pervert!”
You have no idea. You wait for it Ezme, you’ll find out the meaning of the word eventually.
After unpacking her new laptop she set it up on one of her tables.
“You know it’ll be pretty useless right now, yes?” Ezme asked with a cocked head as she sat on the same table as the laptop.
“I know. Babysteps is the way to go, I’ll get it to work as I want it eventually.” Amara replied with a smile.
Amara picked up the voltmeter she had stolen.
Now then, to create a new skill.
“Ezme, if I wanted to create an electric current, then I’d have to use the Creation skill, right?” Amara asked.
“Indeed. What about it?” Ezme looked at Amara curiously.
“What if I wanted to have a creation skill solely for that purpose? As I’ll have to reuse the same one often?”
“I see. You can simply think of wanting to make a new skill as you invoke the Creation spell. That’s how we angels use stuff like Holy Fire anyway.” Ezme explained.
Alright then. Let’s see if the system can be as helpful as it sounds.
Amara’s body heated up as she activated her divine power, and imagined the flow of electric charge.
Creation: Electricity!
