Another search for information on classes yielded no new options. Amara did however find more information related to enchanting.
Amara stood on the observation deck and practised her marksmanship with a rifle on a no-longer pristine catalog, while restoring her mana.
So, enchantments can be used by anyone, as long as they know the name of the skill and supply a mental image if needed.
And the skill an enchanted weapon has, can only be one that the enchanter has learned. It seems that how efficient the skill is also depends on how well the enchanter had mastered the skill at the time of enchanting.
That means that enchanting might be quite limited, since you wouldn’t be able to enchant things such as class skills from classes you don’t possess yourself.
However, the benefit seems to be that you can instantly use spells and skills enchanted on the item. even if you don't possess them yourself. I don’t know how long it takes to create a magic circle as a magician, but without the class skill it really isn’t optimal for fighting. It takes far too long, and I’m able to use Mana Sight to see it.
The rifle clicked when Amara squeezed the trigger, making her realize she had forgotten to count the number of bullets as she was lost in thought. Amara sat down next to the ammunition box and began filling the magazine again while thinking.
Mana Manipulation was leveling rather slowly when I kept using Flame. I probably would have needed to use Flame to drain my mana hundreds of times for the last level, while it only took five fireballs.
I finally got the Mana Manipulation to the level where I can choose the magician class. But I’m still not sure what path to go when it comes to classes.
Is the enchanter class really the best option? I mean I can do everything that other classes can do with divine power, but still?
Amara had made several attempts at enchanting, both with mana and with divine power. Every attempt had resulted in failure. Whatever the class skill was that made items able to imbue mana, it was something she couldn’t reproduce no matter what kind of mental image she used.
Amara sighed before standing up again. She cast levitation on a new paperback and pushed it away from her before she pointed the rifle at it. She frowned as the loud bang hurt her ears as Amara pulled the trigger.
Amara was halfway through the magazine when she heard the sound of rushing wind and the flapping of wings.
“Champion.” (Sophelia)
Amara lowered her rifle as she turned around. There stood the majestic angel, with a serene smile on her face.
And a small, obvious red bruise on her forehead.
Amara twitched as she realized what the bruise was. Shit. Did I hit her by accident? I wasn’t even aiming towards the open air, even if I missed I should’ve hit the wall.
“Erm...did I hit you by accident?” Amara asked hesitantly.
Sophelia smiled as she drew her fingers across her forehead, pulling the strands of her golden hair behind her ear in the process. The bruise was gone after her fingers had passed over it.
“No need for concern. I was but a little careless.” The angel responded calmly.
Well yeah. I’ve no idea how I even could’ve hit you. Unless…
“Is that a weapon from your world?” Sophelia asked as she tilted her head.
Amara looked down the rifle in her hands before she replied. “Yeah. We call them firearms.”
“May I see it?” The angel asked with a smile.
Amara handed it over and instructed Sophelia how it should be used. Sophelia pointed the rifle towards the clouds of light and pulled the trigger three times, the angel’s eyes seemingly following the flight of the bullets that were too fast for Amara to see.

Sophelia lowered the rifle before handing it back to Amara. “Do you know how it works in greater detail?”
Amara furrowed her brow as she received the rifle back. “I don’t know all of the details, but I know that there’s some kind of powder in the cartridge that is ignited when you pull the trigger. The gases that are formed by the ignition are what propel the bullet forward.”
Sophelia’s smile grew ever so slightly. “Marvelous.”
The angel suddenly turned her head quicker than usual as she turned her eyes towards the clouds and watched something in the distance in silence. After a prolonged pause Sophelia spoke again. “You appeared to be troubled when I saw you.”
Amara frowned and turned to watch the clouds of light. “I just don’t know if I should get the enchanter class or not. It seems the best option as I think I can achieve what all the other classes do with divine power, but it also seems limited.”
“Then may I ask what you chose as your keys? How do you intend to fight, both in regard to how you will fight personally, and how you will face Ryc’zamul’s army?” Sophelia asked calmly.
Amara contemplated. “The modern weapons from Earth changed history once invented. I was thinking that maybe I could create even better versions with enchanting. If I could get the mortals on Teyrin to use that kind of weapons, I suppose it could even the scales.”
Amara sighed as she continued. “As for how I will fight personally, I don’t know. I suppose my main choice would be using a mix of magic and enchanted modern weapons, and close combat as a last resort?”
“Sound strategies.” Sophelia blinked slowly as she turned her eyes to Amara. “Then hesitation is your greatest obstacle. The enchanter class is what is most useful towards your goal.”
“But the class I choose is permanent, isn’t it?” Amara countered.
Sophelia turned her eyes back into the distance. “For any planted seed, the most important thing is to grow while the season that enhances its growth remains. When a tree is finally fully grown, it matters little in which direction the first branch grew.”
Amara’s eyes widened. Does that mean what I think it means?
Sophelia turned to Amara with a gentle smile. “Thus you should not hesitate further, and keep on growing.”
“...I see.” Amara sank in thought as Sophelia walked over to the ledge of the observation deck. Before taking flight, she turned and looked back at Amara.
“Champion. Seeing the Artifactor as the cause behind your fate would be a mistake. He merely voiced the option that might have been inevitable. When you read a declaration that angers you, you do not blame the ink nor the paper that publicises it. Your anger is directed at the one who made the declaration.”
Amara frowned. “Are you saying that Morpheus wasn’t behind the idea?”
Sophelia looked into the distance but didn’t answer. Amara watched as the angel spread her white wings into their full twelve meter wingspan and took off with a violent beat.
Amara contemplated after she was left alone. Didn't want to answer that, huh. Oh well.
Did she mean that I can get several classes? None of the books mentioned it. In fact, they said it wasn't possible to have more than a single class.
Unless it’s so difficult to get to the point where you can get a second class that every mortal dies before they reach that point.
Or maybe it’s only possible because I can use both mana and divine power? Then that would make it part of the forbidden knowledge.
Anyway, Sophelia seems to know a great deal. I suppose I shouldn’t hesitate any further and get the magician class.
Amara navigated through her status page to select her class.
