"Take care of them. They will be weak for a while, but I should be back before an hour is up. Do not leave the manor, no matter what, and do not open that door. I can go up and over. If there is a concern, get into the storage room. It's solid stone, and not easily entered." Aila gave her orders, went to the top of the manor wall and disappeared.
"Be careful, Master." Ellie and Elena both said at the same time.
Aila thought and searched carefully for a light core. In this area, a dark core was possessed by a dark panther, so that was an easy thing to find. Other spirit beasts that liked to be out in the sunlight, were more likely to contain flame cores.
There was only one exception in this realm. If it was a higher realm, it might be easier to find, but in this realm, she had to go into a completely dark area, and find a night pearl. Usually, these were held, not in the sea, or the water, but in a damp environment, with lots of plant life.
The pearl itself was the source of all the light for the cavern, while it was on the slimy tongue of a carnivorous fleshy land oyster. The oyster would use the light to grow plants, which attracted herbivores that loved the taste. If they get too close, the oyster eats the herbivores.
Any spirit beast that dies in the cave is taken to the oyster so it can continue to live. Also, just like a plant will turn sunlight, water, and nutrients into food, the oyster, through the pearl, will process dark elements, and turn them into their light.
The only other way for Aila to acquire a light core would be to find a harpy. Harpies are notorious for being carnivorous, and easily the most dangerous rank three creature in the forest. Not only do they have the claws of a razor hawk, and have equally keen eyesight, they are like the sirens spoken of in the old Greek tales. They lay three eggs each year, bare only female children, and target humans to mate with. After they mate, they eat the male humans in order to feed their voracious appetite after sex.
Aila was unsure of which direction she should go in to find a harpy, but that is when she found such a mating event. Though the action she witnessed could be considered tame on Earth, she was still a virgin, and had not been able to go onto those sites while in the hospital.
When the human male had his fill, and came to his senses, he quickly tried to run off. The pitiful cries of the harpy female were designed to tug at his heart strings, so any attempt was quickly overcome by their cries. Even when he felt her sharp teeth bite down, he could only see her tears.
"It's too bad I can't wait for you to bare your young." The harpy hissed as Aila made her presence known. One thing that harpies hated were attractive human females. That didn't matter to Aila though. Her sword sheared the harpy's head from it's body, and she cut open the featherless breast to get the core.
"If I didn't know how savage you were, seeing these well shaped breasts might make me hesitate." She did shiver a little as the all too human skin was cut, pulled open, and the core pulled out, but she also could smell the scent of bird droppings. Though harpies were a mix of human and bird, somehow a mix between a razor hawk and a human, they were still spirit beasts. They were smarter then animals, but not reasoning like humans.
Aila threw the body to the ground, along with the human male's body and his head. The flame wolves would eat the rest.

"There you are." Aila took out her ax. Now that she had so much control over her life element, finding the wood nymphs wasn't as difficult as it once was.
Her ax easily cut through the tree, and the nymph blending into the surface to hide. In order to not unbalance the area, for every one she found, she left two alone. For each tree she chopped down, she sucked out it's life, dissolved the stump, and put a new seed down. She used her life element to encourage it to sprout, and grow tall enough to survive any natural pruners like deer.
She had to harvest ten rank one wood nymphs as each core was quite small, and her hunger didn't abate until she had the tenth, including the first one a week ago.
"So punishing. I will not need to eat another of your kind." She said with a soft voice, and put the life core in her pocket. "Do not stray near to my place, and I will treat your kind with kindness." She said to the forest around her, as she saw where each wood nymph was located.
"It may not appear to be kindness." She held out her palm and generated a large amount of flame elements. "But believe me when I say that it is." She left the area, and the nymphs shivered. They believed the human, and could feel nothing but chaotic elemental essence from within her. If they didn't have to fight to stay alive, they would have chosen to run.
The harpies were fortunate that the light core didn't require her to eat one in order to form one. She absorbed enough light elements alongside the flame and life elements to form her own core.
All she was missing were the lava, ice, and lightning cores. She already had the death, life, and metal cores.

Though she had these desires to collect all the beast core types, she had no idea why.

"Master!" Ellie said and eagerly went up to her when she came inside.
"Ellie." She didn't see the flush come over the girl's face, or her slight squirm as the warm energy washed over her consciousness. Aila wasn't even aware she did it with the call of their names, and the girls were still too embarrassed to ask if she knew.
"They are fine, Master. They still sleep, but their skin color is much better now." Ellie said.
"I'll go look in on them. Did you eat yet?" She asked. Ellie shook her head. "I thought I asked Kaala to prepare supper."
"You told her to prepare supper, Master. You didn't tell her to serve it, or eat it. Or tell us to eat." Ellie said. Aila groaned and rolled her eyes.
"I forgot that you were slaves a long time. Sorry, Ellie. Come. Let's go see Kaala and get her to serve supper, as well as eat so she doesn't fall over." They went to the back kitchen.
"Kaala, is supper finished?" Aila said. She noticed a little jerk of Kaala's legs.
"Y-yes, Master."
"I should have told you to allow people, including yourself, to eat when it was ready. Did you add vegetables, and salt?" She came over and saw the stew.
"It's for slaves, Master." Aila turned towards her.
"Kaala, this is for all of us. Me. You. Your sister. Ellie, and Elena. And the two who are still recovering. We eat the same food. Stew with salt for taste. Vegetables for our health. Cheese for the mineral that makes bones strong. Do you understand now?" Aila asked her. Kaala bit her bottom lip to prevent it from trembling.
"Am I in trouble now, Master?"
"No, I just corrected your viewpoint." Aila said with a soft smile. "I purchased you, and freed you. You are now my servant, and deserve to be treated well." On a strange whim, as she had never been the type to hug other people, Aila hugged Kaala firmly. "You are one of my people, and are important to me." After she released the hug, she stood back a step.
"M-Master!" Kaala teared up.
"Get your sister, or one of the twins to help you peel potatoes, and carrots. In the meantime, cut some cheese, with some bread, and have a snack to hold your bellies while the stew finishes off. I have to go look at our two girls." She sighed.
"I will worry about them until they are healthy, and walking around freely."
