Chapter 10: Getting to Novigrad

Along a zenith road, we can see two people walking in silence. They were walking with the sun behind their backs. The lead person was a young man in his early thirties. He wore a hood that hid his face. He was tall and seemed to be muscular. His equipment was special. He gave the impression of being an adventurer. He held a bottle of wine in his hand and took in sips. The person behind him was a young boy who appeared to be still a child. He was very handsome, and when he grew up, he would be a lady killer. But his gaze was cold. It was not the look that a child his age should have. From their appearance, they seemed to belong to the same family.

They had been walking for two months in the direction of Novigrad (AN: I don't know how long the journey from the forest where it was to the north of Temeria and Novigrad takes, so I made it up.)

They could see the houses outside the city and the surrounding camps, the taverns ..... As they passed, some people nodded to the person in front. Finally, they arrived at the south gate and lined up to go through the check-up and enter the city. They waited a few minutes then their turns came.

"Identity paper," asked the guard coldly.

The young man takes out the identity papers and says

"Here is, and I would like to make the papers of this young man."

The guard looked at the papers and handed them back to the man. "Go see my superior at the barracks."

They entered through the outer gate and passed the bridge. Arriving at the main south gate, the actual entrance to the city from the south, they made their way to the barracks. When they introduced themselves, they were directed to the registration room. There the superior of the guard was present and took care of the paperwork. They explained the reason for their visits.

"Perfect, Last name, First name old profession ....."

"Di Vine Saibus, eleven years old, traveler ....."

"Ok, Di Vine Saibus, eleven years old, traveler, apprentices ...."

"Here are your identity papers. You will be asked for them each time you want to enter Novigrad, so don't lose or give them away."

"Thank you"

Saibus and the man got out and went into the streets.

"Come, I will show you around. Then we are going to the brotherhood."
