Chapter 12: Order

Saibus and his uncle Ezio wandered the streets of Novigrad. Ezio showed him various places, like the blacksmith, the tailor, the marketplace, the different bars ... As he walked, Saibus looked at the city and looked for differences from the modern cities of his past life. While you might think that modern cities and Novigrad are different, it just depends on which modern city you take. They are different if we take a city from a rich country or a country in the North, but if we take a city from a developing country, it looks the same, especially if we take the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The district in the city of Novigrad is where the rich and the poor live. Except for Rio, it is the opposite. The favelas are on heights, and the beautiful neighborhoods are near the Atlantic Ocean.

"Come on now. I'll show you one of the places where you can get information besides the guild," Ezio said.

Saibus nodded and followed his uncle toward the red light district. While walking in the red light district, several women offered their services to Saibus and Ezio, but both refused or ignored them. Finally, they walked to an establishment, a brothel. When entering, Saibus read "Cat the Crippled" on the sign. Ezio led him to the bar where the landlady was.

"Hello Alexia, I would like a haircut," said Ezio

"Ezio, what a wind brings you to my establishment," Alexia asked as she served Ezio and Saibus a drink.

"I come to present the city to my nephew."

"Ok, come see me if you are looking for information or a girl to relax or comfort you," Alexia said, smiling at Saibus.

They stayed there for a while before leaving.

"So, what do we do now?" Saibus asked.

"Now, I'll take you to the guild to start your assassin training," Ezio replied.

Hearing his uncle, Saibus smiled, thinking he would finally become an assassin.

Ezio drives Saibus near the city docks. On their way there, they saw drunkards and women offering their services for money—guards patrolling and guards near the braziers in an attempt to warm up. Night had fallen, and a wind was blowing. Arriving on the docks, Ezio walked towards a staircase leading down to the sea. He went down towards the wall at the end of the stairs. He turned and smiled at Saibus before activating a stone, saying.

I usually should only be trained for a year or two before becoming an apprentice, while apprentices become one when they are ten, but since my dad trained me, I am ahead of the rest.

I got out of my room and started heading toward the practice hall. The guild is divided into several Halls themselves divided several rooms. A Hall represents a domain, a bit like the different schools of magic at the Fort Winter Academy. There is the Training Hall with various rooms where trainers give training to children before becoming apprentices. The Hall of Magic were assassins who used magic research. The Hall of Intelligence, where all the assassins who enter are the best at gathering intelligence. In the Hall of Medicine, the medical assassins work there. Then there is the Hall of combat with the rooms of melee combat, sword, spear... It is the largest Hall because of its many rooms—a research hall where research is done on various topics. The Hall of Monsters specializes in monster slaughter. The Hall of Assassination specializes in assassination and murder. Here are all the Guild Halls. After becoming an apprentice, you must choose a Hall that will be your specialty. However, you can still specialize in other areas as a secondary specialty after becoming an assassin.

I arrived in front of the training hall where I saw my uncle giving a lesson to the young people. After waiting a few minutes, the study was over, and he walked over to me.

"Yes," I replied.

My uncle smiled and led me to the council room. The council gate is vast, several meters high. It was arcane wood, the most robust wood in the world and one of the strongest materials, both magically and physically. The color of the wood is dark black with some reddish effects on it. Many legendary figures of the assassins were on the door, such as the Order's founder. My uncle opened the door, and I found myself in front of the guild council.
