Chapter 26: Blacksmith

Two months after Saibus's first contract with Trinity, he left the house with Trinity for Novigrad to maintain his equipment and tour the League market. Saibus is in his room, preparing his equipment and looking at which parts need to be repaired. Although he takes care of his equipment, some armor pieces start to have a few cracks. The features he must present to the blacksmith are his forearm guards and leggings. This is understandable because Saibus uses its legs a lot to kick. As a result, his forearm guards are often deflected or ward off blows when he cannot do so with his sword.

Oddly her chest armor is like, even though she's taken some hits. Saibus came down with casual clothes: black pants and a black doublet. In the living room, Trinity is reading by the fireplace. She saw Saibus get off and close her book. She is in her casual clothes, dark blue pants close to black, and a red shirt with her sleeves rolled up.

They both leave the house. First, Trinity activates the barrier that hides and protects the home. Then, they head towards Novigrad slowly, taking advantage of the trip to discuss Saibus training and everyday life.

They quickly arrive at the small village which surrounds Novigrad. They cross the town and walk towards the Dock gate. The guards at the entrance ask them for their papers. After a light check, Trinity and Saibus enter the city.

"What should you do in town and the league?"  Trinity asks.

"I have nothing to do in town. But, on the other hand, I am going to the League to repair my forearm guards and leggings. How about you?"  Saibus replies.

"I'm going shopping in town and walking around a bit. I'm thinking of going to the Guild afterward to see how it's going."  Said Trinity.

"Are you planning to do your old job? Are you okay?"  Saibus asks with a surprised look.

"What do you mean by that, young man? I'm doing my job, just asking others for a little help."  Trinity retorts.

"Hm"

Trinity and Saibus go their separate ways following this exchange to go about their business. Saibus heads for the docks where one of the Guild entrances to Novigrad is located. Saibus arrives at the docks and enters the Guild. After entering, Saibus heads straight for the Hall du Commerce. The Hall of Commerce does not have a hall, unlike the other Halls. It is just a huge market.

Saibus walks around the market, he looks at the stalls, but nothing catches his attention. He is now standing in front of one of the many blacksmiths in the market. The storefront is black wood with nothing else. There are no details on the storefront. He walks into the shop. The interior of the store is as simple as the exterior. There is just a counter in front of the entrance with a display case on either side with a few weapons inside. Saibus presses the bell on the counter because no one has come from the backroom when the doorbell rings.

Shortly after ringing, an older man comes out of the back room. The older man is tall and strong despite his age. He has a long white beard. He wears a long magician's robe, which is contrary to the profession of a blacksmith. (AN: Gandalf)

"What do you want, young man."

"Hello, sir, I have come to repair my equipment,"  Saibus said, remaining polite.

"No, I'm not a kid's blacksmith. Go home, novice."  The man answers dryly.

"I don't think so. I'd be fine to see another blacksmith than an older man like you who doesn't know good manners and is better than you, but my mentor told me you are the best blacksmith in the League.  . Of course, I don't believe her. "  Saibus said calmly.

Saibus may sound insulting, and that is the point. He wants to press on the man's pride so that he accepts his request.

The older adult looks at Saibus and wonders who could have told him where to find him. Only anyone in the League knows he is here. These people are, of course, the members of the Council. The older man works for the Council but can refuse some of their requests.

"Who is your mentor?"  Ask the older man.

"Trinity."

The older man said nothing for a few seconds before taking the equipment from Saibus and going to the back room.

"Come back in an hour, kid."

Saibus leaves the store but wonders about the relationship between Trinity and the older man to change his mind like that.

Saibus is taking advantage of the coming hour to shop. He buys ingredients from an apothecary for his alchemy and meat from magical or physically powerful creatures for Regiis in a pet store. Saibus also take some clothes because some of his clothes are starting to get small. He also takes the opportunity to buy rare materials for one of his projects, although he cannot find all the materials he wants.

After his shopping, Saibus returns to the store to collect his equipment. Then, he walks into the shop and waits for the older man to arrive.

The older man arrives a few minutes after Saibus arrives. He holds the protections of Saibus, which are like new.

"Hold on, kid."  Said the older man, trying to protect himself.

Saibus takes his wards and inspects them. Then, checking which are refurbished, he turns to the blacksmith.

"How much do I owe you ?"

"100 crowns"

Saibus gives the crowns to the man but does not leave the store.

"What do you want? I fixed your armor."

"Simple, Trinity told me you were a great blacksmith and a great sorcerer. I wonder if you take apprentices."
