Saibus POV:

'I see nothing, only darkness as far as the eye can see. Am I dead? Did Caranthir manage to kill me? I don't think so. I remember cutting off his arm before he took a portal to escape. Then I passed out from a large amount of magic I used to protect myself from the White Cold's bastard wave.'

His spell was weakened when his concentration wavered, but the portal where the White Frost came from could still resist. White Frost is a dangerous thing. If the Wild Hunt wants to bring it back to Earth, we must protect the planet by preventing the White Frost from coming or stopping it when it is already here.'

As I think about these things, the darkness around me slowly begins to dissolve and give way to light. I take control of my body, and my arms and torso ache. I am lying on a bed, and above me, I see a wooded ceiling. I protect my eyes from the light by putting my right hand in front of my face.

I remain in this position for about ten minutes, the time that my eyes get used a minimum to the light passing by the window in front of me. Then, finally, I recognize the room I am in or more. I realize the style of the room. I am in one of the Order's treatment rooms. The reinforcements called by Maryanne had to create a portal to bring us back to the base in the kingdom of Nilfgaard.

The room is classic, with a bed, a window, a wardrobe, a small desk, and runes on the floor around the bed. The runes stabilize the patient and call the doctors at the slightest deterioration of the patient.

Moreover, the runes have probably contacted their twin runes in the center because a doctor opens the door.

The man or woman wears a khaki dress with gray buttons for training. The doctor wears long leather gloves to protect his hands. A belt tied around his waist serves his clothing and allows him to fix leather bags. Finally, the person wears a pearly white plague mask.

"Hello, Saibus. I see that you have regained consciousness." The doctor spoke to me in a female voice, leaving me to assume she was a woman.

"Yes, doc, my arms, and torso hurt. Can you tell me what happened after I passed out?" I asked as I got up and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Yes, your arms are not broken, but you almost suffered chest injuries. So I recommend that you do no missions, training, or physical exercise while recovering. I will send your file to Novigrad. I want you to be examined by a doctor there every week. Ah, and no is not an answer that doctors accept when it comes to the life or recovery of our patients. However, you should know that if you refuse to comply, you risk aggravating your injuries, and I will be obliged to ask the Elders for an injunction to forbid you from doing anything", the doctor replies with a firm tone.

She makes it clear that I have no choice.

"No worries, doc, I trust you. You're the one who researched to cure people, not me." I answered quietly.

"Well, now that that is settled, I would like to state that I am surprised you accepted this so easily, I was expecting resistance and would force me to administer a dose of tranquilizer, but it looks like I won't be needing it." As she expresses her thoughts to me, the doc puts away a yellow liquid syringe. She is careful to store it in a small case to protect it.

"Know, doc, that although I have a reputation as an assassin who does all the missions. I also know how to rest and the importance of a good recovery." I retort to the doctor with a slight sigh of pain.

"Perfect, in that case, we can move on to your final recollections of the event that led you to this state." the doctor states as she takes a sheet of paper and a holder from her pouch. She takes the pen and ink from the desk and settles into the seat. She swings her right leg over the other and stares at me.

"Well, describe to me your side of the story. We had Maryanne's, but as you may recall, she left to get back up when the Wild Hunt arrived." the doctor tells me.

"Well, I was sent by the Council to search some elven ruins, as I'm sure you know. My ruin had or still has a prototype megascope and a portal communicating with the ruin explored by Maryanne and her team in the kingdom of Nilfgaard." Questioned by the doctor, I summarize my mission and the arrival to Maryanne without elaborating too much on the subject.

"Yes, that is indeed what Maryanne stated to me. Please continue." the doctor states as she jots down a few words in her notebook.

"After Maryanne fixed the gate, I entered it and came to the ruin Maryanne explored. She then gave me a summary of the situation, and we resumed the exploration. We eliminated the two elements that were preventing us from continuing. We then entered a room where the artifact that the Wild Hunt wanted was located. They arrived at that point. I asked Maryanne to go get help while I fought them."

"Eliminating Hunt's soldiers, one of Hunt's officers appeared, Caranthir. We clashed with each other. At the end of the fight, he used a powerful ice spell, forcing me to protect myself with my fire magic, but it consumed a lot of chaos. But he, too, had consumed a lot of chaos. We had a final clash where I cut off his left arm before he fled through a portal. I then passed out from the misuse of magic." I finish my monologue by withholding some information.

"Well, this is in line with what Maryanne told us but be aware that meeting one of Hunt's lieutenants is very dangerous. Nevertheless, Nevertheless, I will inform the Council of your reports. You will probably be called very soon." The doctor stands up and puts her notebook away. She walks to the door and opens it. She starts to walk out but stops in the doorway.

"Ah, before I let you rest, someone wants to see you. I'll call her and tell you she can come to visit you. You can chat with her while we prepare your things and return them to you." The doctor leaves after finishing her words.

I wait in the room for five minutes before the door to the room opens. Standing in the doorway was my mother.

"My little assassin." She picks me up and hugs me tight.

"I thought you were going to join me. And I don't want that to happen now. You're still too young for that. You are foolish. You know how much I worried about you when you left to face Caranthir." My mom yelled at me about my actions.

As weird as it is to be argued with as an adult, seeing my mom get a rise out of me both warms my heart and hurts it. She is the only mother I have ever had. She is embedded in my heart forever.

I return her hug and comfort her. We talk until someone comes to bring me my things and lets me go. On the way out, we pass Maryanne, with whom I chat for a few moments. She invites me to come and see her in her house in the kingdom.

My mother and I take a portal to go to Novigrad. Arrived at the base of Novigrad, we went out. We walked for several minutes talking. Then, I created a doorway out of the city and at the edge of the forest around the town. My mother walked through it without question, and I followed her.

Narrator POV:

Saibus and his mother have returned to Saibus' ancestral home in a forest north of Temeria. The house has changed somewhat since Elana last lived there, and she has noticed.

"The layout of the ground floor is much better like this. I wanted to change it like this, but you know your father is very stubborn. He refused to let us change the house's interior," says Elana as she walks around the house.

"I can understand him, but yes, this layout is much better," Saibus follows her.

"But come on, Mom, I have someone to introduce you to." Saibus points to the back door leading to the garden with his left hand while he takes his mother's hand with his right.

"Oh, my darling will introduce me to his lovely wife. I hope she treats you well and isn't just here for your money, or she'll have me to deal with," says Elana as she lets her son take her away, though she has a predatory smile.

Saibus opens the door. The first thing in sight is a beautiful flowering tree dotted with purple. Below the tree, sitting on the ground, protected from the sun by the tree, is a lovely woman with long black hair. The woman with lilac eyes reads a book while resting on the tree trunk.

The woman looks up because of the noise of the door. She sees Saibus and smiles at him, but her face expresses shock when she sees that Saibus is accompanied.

"Yennefer, officially meet my mother, Elana. Then, mother, meet Yennefer Di Vine, my wife," says Saibus introducing the two most influential women in his life.

"Hello, Yennefer. I'm happy to meet you as a family member officially," says Elana with a maternal smile.

"Yes... me too." Yennefer, in shock, answers mechanically with a moment of doubt.

Yennefer looks at Saibus with questioning, doubt, and fear.

"Yes, she is indeed my mother, no, she's not a zombie or anything, and no necromancy has anything to do with her situation." Saibus knowing his wife answers his questions without even asking.

"How?" replies Yennefer instantly.

"Well, that's a long story. It's better if we have it in the living room, " Saibus said as he entered the house with his mother. Yennefer follows them shortly after.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Saibus, Elana, and Yennefer have been talking in the living room for two long hours. As the conversation progressed, Yennefer and Elana warmed up the leftover food from the night before, and the three ate dinner at sunset.
"Well, now that the story has been told. I'd like you two to tell me about your lives," Elana said, looking at her son and daughter-in-law curiously.
"Let's start with you, Sai," says Elana.
"If you wish. After the sack of the Hunt, Uncle Ezio took me to Novigrad to do my assassin training. There I met many people I became friends with, including Desmond, my best friend, and Trinity, my mentor and adopted aunt. Along with my Assassin training, I trained my magic and mainly my elemental magic." Saibus begins, recalling parts of his training.
"Then I became an Assassin around the time I turned 18. For this, I assassinated the king of Nazir. He tried to kill one of our assassins working in his capital. He wanted to teach the League a lesson. Too bad for him. Later, I found Yennefer, and we lived here. I also discovered the origin of our ancestors and met Seaia." continued Saibus.
"Now we have our private island with a beautiful grandmother to guard and protect it. After that, I helped people, did missions, that kind of thing until I got married to Yen, " said Saibus with a smile.
"Well, I want you to tell me more about this island and your father's ancestors. He never really told me about them. And you, my dear, how did you grow up to be this glorious young woman?" Elana turns her attention to her daughter-in-law.
"Well, I don't have much to tell. I went to Aretuza to learn magic. I was taught by the headmistress, Tissaia de Vries, who spotted my potential and ability to use chaos. I spent years learning magic and became a certified magician when I was 13. Yet I continued to stay in the academy until I was 17 to learn as much as possible." Then, Yennefer begins the abridged version of her evolution.
"I then left and eventually joined Saibus. After that, I continued my quest for knowledge. I met many people, like my best friends, Triss Merigold and Isabella. Finally, I became the youngest wizard to join the Wizarding Council." finished Yennefer with a proud tone in her voice.
"Well, I am proud of you, my children. In the short time I have left, please tell me everything you have experienced. But this time, no summary. I want to know everything."
