Meanwhile, in the taxi.

Yuan Meng tightly held Ye Qian's arm around her while her body was subconsciously wanting to get into Ye Qian's.

It almost made one feel that she was trying to force herself into Ye Qian's body.

But that was understandable, just a while ago, she had seen something that had frightened her to the core.

In fact, when Ye Qian had told her that there was a high possibility that the thing was after her, she was not worried as much, but after seeing the figure just a while ago.

It had cast a sense of immense fear in her mind and heart, as if even just a moment more it would have been there then she would have lost everything in that darkness which she sensed back then.

Meanwhile, Ye Qian could not help but sigh seeing Yuan Meng so much afraid.

In fact, he didn't doubt in the least that she might have feared anything to this degree till today.

But then thought that what they were facing was just something the most inconsequential that would be present in the Cultivation world, Ye Qian knew that he had to let her understand and see by herself that the thing which she feared right now was just a minuscule of what they might really encounter in the great world of cultivators.

They had not driven for more than 4 minutes since they saw the dark figure flash in front of their eyes.

All this long, Ye Qian had been trying to gauge the possibility of what they had encountered.

'At most, that person is at the early stage of Golden Core, but the worrisome thing if the fact is the Corpse Qi surrounding it, if not for that then I would not have cared much, but Corpse Qi can have a very bad effect on Mengmeng.'

Ye Qian sighed as he looked at the shaking Yuan Meng who held her head close to her chest.

"Qian'er we will be fine right?"

Yuan Meng could not help but ask.

Before she was not worried since she had full faith in Ye Qian, but right now, no matter how much she believed him, this thought could not help but come to her mind.

What she feared the most was not being harmed, but that she would have to lose her family which had united again after so many years.

"Everything will be alright, I will not let anything happen to you."

Ye Qian nodded as he stroked Yuan Meng's hair.

Meanwhile, he nodded at the driver.

Just as the driver nodded in response, all of a sudden a dark figure once again appeared in front of the car light.

But this time, the figure didn't seem to have any thought of moving out of the way.

Yuan Meng had her eyes closed subconsciously while the driver gnashed his teeth and didn't try to apply the brakes even in the slightest.

In fact, much to contrary, he sped up even further as if wanting to smash the figure that was obstructing their way into smithereens.

As for Ye Qian, his eyes were squinted as he stared at the figure.

He could see that the figure that was about a hundred meters away from them had its face and everything covered by a black cloth.

Although at first glance Ye Qian also thought that it was black coloured clothes that the person was wearing, but after a moment Ye Qian frowned.

That was because the black colour on the clothes had not appeared because they were of that colour, in fact, the colour had developed on it after it had started to decompose.

With Ye Qian's eyes that could see easily at hundreds of meters away at ease and with great detail, he could see that the clothes that the figure wore were not tattered or looked to be worn down, but in fact, were very old and had been decomposing for all this long.

If not for the fact that Ye Qian could see all this, even he might have thought the same as Yuan Meng as well.

But as Ye Qian saw all this, his face didn't seem to be eased even in the slightest.

It was because there appeared one another thought in his mind.

"It's a Living Dead."

If Zombies were considered mythological undead beings by people, then the Living Dead were not in anyways similar to the Zombies.

In certain ways, Zombies could be said to as Undead beings, but Living Dead were completely different from that of zombies.

Unlike Zombies who would not have a sign of consciousness in them and would only act on the basic instincts left in them after their deaths, the Living Dead were different.

Although cultivation would enhance one's strength and increase their longevity and vitality, but one would still die when their life period was to come close.

One could just say that the average age of normal people was about 80 or so, but when one entered the Early stages of Chi Gathering their lifespan would be increased to that of more than a hundred.

And with each growth in the cultivation of that person, they would get an increase in lifespan.

But even if that was to be done, a Chi-Gathering cultivator would be able to live for more than 100 years, but they would be worn down and unless they were to reach higher cultivation they would only accept their faith and continue living like this till they reached the end of their lifespan.

And the same went on for a cultivator at the Golden Core Stage who would have a life span of about 300 years, but even then, unless they reached the Nascent Soul Stage and were close to crossing 300 years of their age, then they would only be waiting for their death.

But the living dead opposed such laws which would be against the natural laws where one would have to die even if they were to cultivate and gain more lifespan.
