As he called out a warm feeling gushed into his heart.
"How long has it been since I called her?"
Thinking of this he felt sore in his nose and his eyes turned moist.
This was one of the few things which he always thought would turn out to be true someday and now it was happening.
He was calling for his mother to open the door and would see her just like how he would come back from school when he was a child or from work when he did his job.
"CLICK."
The door was clicked open as Grandma Yan's voice sounded in Ye Qian's ears.
"Ohh Little Qi, what took you so long?"
Even before she opened the door, Grandma Yan's caring voice sounded.
"Ahh what happened to you, my child?"
Grandma Yan was shocked as she quickly pulled Ye Qian into the house and placed both her palms on his face.
Her face was full of worry as she saw moisture in her son's eyes.
"Did anyone bully you, dear?"
A wave of slight anger flashed in her eyes as she asked with love.
No matter how old her son had become, she was still her small child, seeing his eyes were moist, Grandma Yan's heart was filled with worry.
"No mom, I just missed you calling like this."

Ye Qian smiled as he wiped the tears welling in his eyes.
"Pah."
"What are you, you are so old and you still cry for your mother, what will people think if they see you like this?"
Grandma Yan slapped his hand away and carefully wiped Ye Qian's face with her muffler.
But though she seemed to be annoyed at Ye Qian there was only a gentle smile on her face.
"When are you going to understand my child, we are getting old, how long can we be with you?"
She slowly walked towards the sofa and made Ye Qian sit by her side as she pulled his head on her lap.
"Mom why do you say that, you aren't going to get old, I promise you."
Ye Qian looked at her face and said while holding her hand as she fondled his hair.
They continued to talk and Grandpa Xiao who was also on the other side of the sofa seemed to be smiling but he carefully hid his face with the newspaper in his hand.
While being in this sudden comfort, Ye Qian didn't even understand when he felt dizzy and soon fell asleep.
As they say, a mother's lap is the most comfortable place for her child to sleep without any fear or care from the world.
For the last thousand's years, Ye Qian, the Venerable Ye, who could conquer and destroy planets with just his power, but had rarely fallen into a sleep that might make him completely unaware of the surrounding had finally fallen asleep without even a thought in the lap of his mother.
Seeing the smile on her son's face as he slept peacefully on her lap, Grandma Yan's eyes were filled with gentleness.
'I know Little Qi, you might have gone through a lot, but now that you are with us, I won't let anyone or anything bad happen to you.'
A mother's heart was still a mother's heart, no matter how powerful Ye Qian was, she might still think that Ye Qian was weak and would need her protection.
Grandma Yan slowly pecked Ye Qian's head and continued to pat while turning the volume of the TV low so as to not disturb her son's peaceful sleep.

She had seen Ye Qian when he was sleeping on the sofa in the dawn, seeing him like this pained her heart.
It was not that because Ye Qian was sleeping on the sofa and thus Grandma Yan felt bad for him.
But her mother's heart told her that there was something that made Ye Qian feel sad and guilty.
She obviously couldn't see her son like this.
With that, the old couple stayed in that position for a few hours.
No matter how long Ye Qian was sleeping on her lap, Grandma Yan didn't seem to have feeling sore in her lap.
It was as if Ye Qian didn't have any weight and it only made her feel happy while see the calm and peaceful smile on her son's face as he slept on her lap after so long.

Meanwhile, after finally finishing off their lectures, Yuan Meng and Ning Wei came back to the staffroom.
"Ahh this time it's going to be hard for us, I think the council of education is going to make strict rules for exams."
Yuan Meng breathed a sigh as she sat by Ning Wei's seat.
"Sister Wei, how was it for you?"
Yuan Meng asked seeing that Ning Wei appeared to be completely exhausted and worn down.
She had to do 3 lectures non-stop today and thus was almost drained, but no matter how much she felt tired, after a few moments of breathing, she would feel more energetic.
She knew that this might be because of the Spiritual Energy in the air.
Ye Qian had told her about the Spiritual Energy which was the source of all of the magic and energy which made him so powerful.
She was also told by him that given her level of so-called Cultivation, she won't need a lot of Spiritual Energy for her.
But the consumption would also be the same.
She quickly understood that right now she was like a small tube and according to what Ye Qian had said, along with her cultivation, this pipe would start to get bigger and stronger and thus the so-called Spiritual Energy would still be the same which would enter in her body and be used up by her, but the main difference would be that her powers would also exponentially grow.
