As soon as Ye Qian and Yuan Meng rushed into the kitchen, what they saw made their eyes widened with disbelief.
The glass was shattered on the ground with water spilt on the floor, while the little girls were tightly hugging each other as if they have seen a ghost.
And a few feet away from them was something that would make any lady frighten and jump a few feet off the ground.
Yes, there was a brown coloured cockroach which has its back on the ground.
Ye Qian sighed in relief and shook his head, he had thought that what he had thought would have happened but to his surprise, the little girls were afraid of the small cockroach and clutching each other as they were on their knees.
Meanwhile, after seeing the scene Yuan Meng had her eyes widened as well but she ran behind Ye Qian.
Ye Qian didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
As the little girls saw him they cried out.
"Papa, see there is a cockroach!"
Little Jai pointed her finger at the small creature who was still struggling to get back on his feet but to no avail.
As she cried she was trembling and didn't dare to look at it.
"Don't cry Butterfly and Little Jia Papa is here."
Ye Qian tried to move forward and took the broom in the corner.
"Papa will pick it up, don't cry ok."
"Hmm."
Little Qiqi nodded and didn't even look at him.
Ye Qian was about to walk towards them when he felt someone pulling him from behind.
Ye Qian turned behind and saw the shaking and afraid Yuan Meng was tightly holding the hem of his shirt.
"Can you let me go Mengemeng, or the girls will be more frightened?"
Ye Qian asked calmly.
Yuan Meng nodded and released her grip while letting go of his shirt.
Ye Qian picked up the cockroach and threw it out of the window and closed it.
As soon as he turned he saw the little girls running at him.
They were tearing up and sniffing.
"Papa, Qiqi and Big Sister were so afraid of that cockroach."
Little Qiqi said as she hugged him tightly.
"Hmm."
Ye Qian nodded and patted their head.
He glanced at Yuan Meng and walked to her.
"So you are still afraid of those tiny beings?"
"Who... who is afraid of those tiny things I was just afraid that something happened to the girls."
Yuan Meng stammered while her face turned red with embarrassment as she continued.
"I felt that the girls were injured or something."
"Jia, are you and Qiqi fine?"
Yuan Meng turned to the girls and asked in worry she had seen the shattered glass pieces and was worried if they were hurt.
"Aunt Meng Jia and Qiqi are fine, when I was filling the water the cockroach ran in front of us, I threw the glass at it and the water spilt everywhere."
Little then Jia continued
"We were afraid and shouted, sorry we made Papa and aunt Meng worry."
"Hmm."
"Don't say that, we love you we will always be worried about you."
Yuan Meng smiled and patted them.
As she was about to wipe the water off and clean the broken pieces Yuan Meng heard someone running in.
"Ufff ufff."
Ning Wie came while panting as her chest moved up and down as she breathed heavily.
"Wha...what happened why did you cry, Jia?"
__________
After Ning Wei and others arrived in front of the door when she heard that he would go to receive Little Jia after her school she couldn't control herself anymore as tears dripped from her eyes.
She was a mother and she had always thought of giving all the happiness Little Jia would ask for but she was not able to provide a fathers love to her nor was she able to accompany her when she came back from school.
She didn't think much of father love as she knew there was no one who would love Little Jia more than her own father, but the thing that she would never be there when Little Jia would come back from school made her sad the most.
Which child would not want to get his or her mother or father to come to get him back home?
She had many a time received a call from Little Jia's teacher that Little Jia would often cry after the school release while others would have their parents waiting for them but there was no one to ask for her, this was like a knife stuck in her heart.
Unlike Little Qiqi Little Jia would not go to the old age home, but Yuan Meng had insisted Ning Wei make her go there so that Little Jia would not feel so much lonely with the old and Little Qiqi with her and in fat she would even feel good and the old people would also like to have such an adorable child to care for.
But Ning Wei wanted Little Jia to get herself strong but with time Little Jia turned more fragile and she never had the way to make up for the things she missed.
Now with the growing need for money, Ning Wei would always stay late at night and do some other jobs to have some more.

Unlike Yuan Meng she also didn't have her house; she was staying here with rent so it was even harder for her to adjust things properly.
At most, she would spend time with Little Jia while she would help her with her homework and teaching her.
She quickly washed her face and wiped it when she heard Little Jia's cry.
She suddenly felt her heart tighten, as she quickly opened the door and ran to the kitchen.
'Why would Jia shout so loudly?'
'Are they here?'
__________
Ning Wei ran to the kitchen as she knew the cry came from it, only to see the glass pieces lying on the floor and Little Jia and Little Qiqi were near Yuan Meng.
"Wha...what happened why did you cry, Jia?"
Ning Wei asked as she continued to gasp for air.
"Mom, there was a cockroach."
As if in response Ning Wei's eyes widened as soon as she heard Little Jai utter the word "Cockroach".
Ning Wei jumped a foot high.
Ye Qian was standing beside the door as she ran to him and rightly hugged him.
Ye Qian's was unable to say a word as Ning Wei embraced him.
"Mom, Papa threw the cockroach away."
Little Jia exclaimed as she saw that her Mom was embracing Ye Qian.
Yuan Meng's eyes were wide open as she stared at Ning Wei.
She glared at Ye Qian with narrow eyes.
Ye Qian smiled wryly noticing Yuan Meng's glare and said.
"Ahem. Sister Wei."
Ning Wei didn't seem to care to whom she was embracing but soon she sniffed and smells Ye Qian's scent.
She didn't want to look like a pervert and quickly let go of him quickly and turned her back to him.
Her face turned red like a ripened tomato.
"Umm Sorry, I am afraid of cockroaches, I am sorry if I did something unacceptable."
Ning Wei was embarrassed as she continued to apologise and didn't dare to look at Ye Qian.
Her face was already burning hot as she thought how intimately she hugged Ye Qian and that too right in front of Yuan Meng and the girls.
'Huh, what am I thinking, I won't hug him even when alone.'
Ning Wei felt her heart speed up as she thought of such reasons.
"Hehe, Aunt Wei is red like a tomato hehe."
Little Qiqi giggled looking at Ning Wei.
Ning Wei felt she needed to find a hole to bury her face as Little Qiqi teased.
"Cough."
"Qiqi don't say such things."
Yuan Meng coughed a bit and glared at Little Qiqi.
"Ok, Mumma."
"Sorry, Aunt Wie."
Little Qiqi apologised to Ning Wei.
Ning Wei smiled wryly and turned to Yuan Meng.
She had completely believed that this time Yuan Meng would have been angry with her for sure.
But as she turned to Yuan Meng with an apologizing look, Yuan Meng gave her a convincing look and nodded.
"Sister Wei, take Little Jia to change clothes we will be waiting in the hall."
Saying that she held Little Qiqi's hand and walked out.
Ning Wei stared at her back a little bewildered.
'How is she not even slightly angry, or is she accepting me?'
Ning Wei shook her head and tried to deny the idea.
How can a woman accept her husband for having another woman, this was totally out of the norms?
Ning Wei turned to Ye Qian who was smiling wryly and took Little Jia's hand and walked to that other room.
While she walked she still thought of how she hugged Ye Qian and how much at ease she was, she didn't feel any worry, any sadness, any regret and not even the stress she felt for so many days.
