Chapter 1114: Origin·Crafting (Part 2)

“Hell no!” Sika refused Saleen’s request firmly, but quickly felt herself being too hard after she spoke. “Saleen, I’m just concerned that you won’t have any strength left for crafting equipment. We’re already half a month behind schedule.”

“Won’t have any strength left? That’s ridiculous! I’m a level nine sorcerer. Even if I fight a swordmaster up close and personal, there’s no certainty that I’ll lose!”

Sika’s eyes were wide open. “Well how about we have a match in who can take down the house faster then? You take the left and I take the right.”

Saleen was getting rather impatient. “What does this have to do with taking the house down? The last time we did it, oh yeah, that last time. Who was the one ended up asking for a break, eh? Was I the one getting exhausted?”

Sika could not help but chuckle. “Alright, Saleen, let’s get the equipment finished. We’ll do it your way after that. And man, you actually dare bring up that last time. You insisted on testing that mutated water type fossilization or whatever, and you almost got frozen instead.”

Saleen grinned and hugged Sika. “Alright, I was just messing with you. Well then, how do we go about this?”

The stone house had a Mute Enchantment set up. Nailisi came to the front door and took her golden dragon form, then stayed coiled up there, feeling rather frustrated. Master is going at it with Sika again, and they kick me out. But Sika… well, it’s best to not get on her bad side.

If her master dared do so with other women, she would swallow them alive.

Saleen and Sika stayed in the stone house for six days. A whole week passed before the Mute Enchantment was dispelled. Nailisi would never train on her own. She simply stayed in her golden dragon form coiled up before the door, spending all six days sleeping.

When she woke up, she had forgotten what form she had taken. She swiped her tail and took out half of the walls of the huge stone house.

All the others watched the scene, dumbfounded. They were all looking at the stone house; even Eleanor had gotten curious as to what happened. She was wondering what Saleen and Sika were doing in there, and if the scene would turn out to be awkward.

Thick water element burst from the rubble. The mist covered half of the valley in an instant. Saleen’s mist would not cloud his followers’ sight. Everyone other than Don was able to see what was at the center of the stone house. Thick starlight gathered at an retro-looking piece of equipment.

The triangular equipment was no longer a construct of bone. It was covered in lightning magic patterns and between them, constellation power pulsed, as if it was a breathing living being.

The equipment hovered in the air and both Saleen and Sika circled around it. Complex golden runes shot from Saleen’s eyes, which were etched on the piece of equipment. Green energy shot out from Sika’s eyes. Mystical shapes were hidden within the energy.

Nailisi turned around in a hurry and took her devil form, looking at Sika’s new equipment, which made her feel threatened. It was a feeling she had when her life was in danger.

The edge of the triangular thing was smooth. Powerful life force seemed to be imbued within, attempting to escape and devour someone.

However, Saleen and Sika simply continued to add power to the shell of the equipment. The thing hidden within gradually stopped rampaging. The pulse of constellation power mellowed out as well.

Sika was only able to let her guard down then. The trouble of her magic beast soul growing too quickly had been settled. If it had not been for Saleen’s help, it would have taken an untold number of years before the equipment was finished.

Saleen put his hands down. “Let’s name it.”

That triangle in the air shuddered for a bit, then circled around Sika in glee. A melodic sound was heard from the hollowed part of the triangle.

Saleen sensed everyone’s sight around him. “What are you looking at? Come get your gear!”

Nailisi was the first one to go. Her body shrunk in midair, returning to her imp form. Saleen seemed to understand something when he saw that. Nailisi would have probably been able to advance a long time ago if it had not been for her accommodating to his level.

He finally understood why there had been times where his soul bond with her felt as if it had disappeared.

“Nothing for you here,” Saleen said exasperatedly to Nailisi. He had given her the semi godly item that served as her shield, which was taken from the great head inquisitor. He was in no mood nor had any energy left to craft her more.

The equipment that Nailisi had on her person was probably second only to that of Saleen. The Grey Memory, the Sword of Rules, and the shield were made of materials above level 13. Saleen had yet to see a weapon as sharp or pointy as the Grey Memory.

“Hehe… I know, master. I was just checking the stuff out for them,” Nailisi looked on as she waited for Saleen to take out the new equipment.

“Sul, come here.” Saleen waved and took out a regular Qin eight-sided sword and handed it to Sul. The sword was a segment shorter than conventional Qin eight-sided swords, which fit Sul’s size perfectly.

Sul took the sword in his hand and immediately felt it to be different than any weapon he had wielded before. The sword was light, only half as heavy as the short sword that he was using.

The sword was also capable of holding ten times more sword aura than any piece of equipment he had used before. The greater the amount of energy an equipment was capable of carrying, the longer a warrior would be able to use it. The sword would last him at least until level 12.

Saleen then took out a garment and handed it to Sul. “Your way of the sword is quick and sharp, making heavy armor ill-suited for you. This is a piece of starline cloth armor made specifically for you. You can rest easy with the defense this thing affords you. You won’t lose fighting capacity when you face a holy master or whatever next time.”

“Thank you, my liege.” Sul took the armor, wanting to change into it right away, but there were too many women around him at the moment, and it would be rude for him to do so.

“Jola.”

“I’m here. I have Tears, my liege.”

“A pair of braces for you. They should give you some defense against prophecy spell-type divine spells.” Saleen handed the braces to Jola. Jola was an incredibly versatile warrior, capable of wearing any type of armor.

He was able to maintain combat capacity even if he wore heavy armor, but Saleen had not planned to craft armor for him.

Jola took the braces without saying anything. He put them on his forearms.

Jola was unable to do anything against prophecy spells. He had some defense against level nine ones, but the one that hit him aged him by decades.

The level 11 one that he had to deal with before almost cost him his fighting capacity after he was even caught in the aftershock.

“Eleanor, this is for you.”

Saleen took out a quiver and handed it to Eleanor. The arrows within were all crafted specifically for her.

Eleanor took the quiver and drew one arrow out. The lightning magic patterns on it hummed as soon as she clipped it between her fingers.

“Nice stuff, but just too precious!” Eleanor had spent the week learning to memorize. She had developed a rough understanding of lightning rules, but she was still unable to master it. However, she was able to tell how effective the arrow would be in dispelling magic.

She was still unable to use lightning skills, but she was able to shoot an arrow with offensive lightning effects.

It was akin to a magic scroll used by mages, adapted to archers.

Every arrow shot equaled to learning the skill of lightning attacks once, which was the same as a mage unleashing a scroll. Saleen spent most of his focus and energy on the lightning arrows. His foundation in lightning skills was shakyl.

“Nicholas…”

“My liege?” Nicholas had not expected Saleen to have something for him. Saleen should not have known much about his fallen holy arts after all.

“I have something for you.” Saleen took out a huge scroll. The scroll was nearly a meter long. Nicholas struggled to hold it, looking rather awkward.

“I can’t do much with divine spell scrolls, so I made a blank one instead. You can add skills to it yourself later.”

Nicholas extended his senses to probe the scroll and was overjoyed. While the scroll looked rather awkward in his hands, the material was like no other.

Saleen used methods not known to Nicholas to fill the blank scroll with ample power of faith, which was also perfectly balanced with the power of elements in it.

It was capable of allowing divine spells to be continuous added and stacked until the scroll was unable to take anymore. The blank could be stored repeatedly with over ten divine spells, which could be cast all at once.

While it was a one-time-use equipment and troublesome to use, Saleen had provided him with ideas to research further. His divine spells were able to be stored within the Scepter of the Fallen, which could be cast all at once. What it cost him was mental powers.

Saleen had a piece of equipment capable of enhancing mental powers. While Saleen would definitely not give Nicholas something like that, Nicholas could make a copy. Saleen’s methods would enable Nicholas to enhance his mental powers by two times.

“Isabella.” Saleen smiled warmly.

“My liege.”

Saleen took out a sharp and pointy metal spear and handed it to Isabella. “You’re equally exceptional in both martial arts and magic. The spear will serve as a magic staff, but also an equipment capable of storing sword aura. This is a set of starline armor. Take it.”

Isabella took the equipment Saleen crafted for her and nodded her thanks. While the things that Saleen had given her seemed to be the most common, they were the most suitable for her use.

Furthermore, she found that the level of the magic nucleus embedded within the short spear was ridiculously high. It would last her for a very long time, sparing her the need to switch weapons later.

“Don…”

Don was stunned. Saleen had him wait, so he did not expect to be getting something so soon.

“This is your personal Heaven Knight armor. I’ve used special materials to craft it. Defense might be lacking somewhat, but… you’ll know when you wear it. Here are ten sets of Heaven Knight armor for demons, which all differ somewhat from the schematics you gave me.”

Don took the Heaven Knight armor. One set was incredibly heavy, weighing over 55 pounds. Common mages would probably have a hard time carrying something like that, yet Saleen handed it to him with one arm.

The set was crafted by Saleen using fragments of the fossilized gods, which was capable of self-repair. Every single set was capable of providing power to another set, which was the basic principle of Heaven Knight armor.

Saleen recalled the Tribunal came up to grab materials in a frenzy, so he had the epiphany to try the fragments out. The fragments proved to be the ideal material for crafting Heaven Knight armor. There was no need to add anything else to it.

While it came at the cost of lower defense, when Don led armies consisting of thousands, such equipment would enable a large number of golden grand swordmasters to appear among the ranks of his army.

It would make them something like the golden-armored knights riding alongside the great head inquisitor.

Saleen drew a teleportation portal specifically linked to Daliang City after knowing that, writing to Lex to have her gather as many of the fragments as possible.

Even if she was unable to do so, she would screw up the Tribunal operations as best she could.
