Chapter 1123: Forced Falling (Part 1)

Over a dozen holy masters who stood behind the third great head inquisitor were thoroughly shocked. Their skills were all support types, which were capable of buffing up the all attributes of powerful warriors or holy masters over twice of their original parameters.

But if told to fight on their own, the holy masters were entirely helpless. In order to acquire powerful support powers, the holy masters paid the price by learning next to no offensive divine spells.

Saleen had no intention of leaving any potential devastating loose ends behind. While holy masters were incapable of attacking on their own, if they were paired with head inquisitors, Saleen would have a massive headache to deal with.

The third head inquisitor’s soul was wrapped in the ball of blood and had lost its way in the Endless Night. It was wrapped thoroughly by Saleen’s Water Shield, making escape impossible. The ball of blood was finally subjected to Thunder Shock attacks, dispersing it, and its remains were absorbed by the Water Shield.

Nailisi was stunned. Saleen had taken care of the third head inquisitor before she was able to do anything, which she was not used to. While Saleen had never been weak, every time he needed to make a move against anyone, he would need Nailisi to be the main attack force.

Saleen worked seamlessly with Sika, robbing Nailisi of any chance to do anything.

When Saleen grabbed the third head inquisitor’s soul, Nailisi came to her senses, throwing his soul into her Blood Soul Tower.

That Blood Soul Tower was hastily crafted, which made of inferior quality to the one destroyed. It was almost filled to the brim taking in only one soul.

The third head inquisitor’s bald head was blown up by Saleen, his remaining body fell. An enraged howl was heard from the holy light high above the sky.

Saleen calmly said to Nailisi, “Follow my lead.”

Saleen charged at the support holy masters while Sika charged below. The third head inquisitor’s Wings of Heaven were still flapping, intending to take flight. However, without instructions from the head inquisitor and the godly item not having its own autonomous spirit, it was no longer capable of taking flight.

The Wings of Heaven refused to give up when Sika came near. While the spirit within remained dormant, the godly item still flapped its fiery energy wings about by instinct, and attacked Sika.

Sika took out the ancient tree, and with a single shake, it burst to a height of over seven meters, bringing down the Wings of Heaven.

The Wings of Heaven crashed hard into the ground. Sika quickly caught up with the Wings of Heaven, whose flames were sprawling all over the place from the attack. She snatched the godly item with her bare hands and stuffed it into her sack.

The Wings of Heaven lost all power to resist within the sack. Its flames were extinguished, and it was turned into a small statue, which looked like a pure white demon. It was unknown what race the god was, only that it had bright red wings.

Nailisi flew faster than Saleen, and she charged into their midst before they knew what happened. Nailisi was already at level ten. Her Grey Memory easily targeted the holy masters around her, who were not a high level. Nailisi thrust away with her spear in a frenzy. The only thing that mattered was speed. The holy masters had no hope of catching up with her.

When Saleen finally reached them, there were only six of the holy masters left. Sika’s triangular bone piece had disposed of all six powerful knights, and it headed for the holy masters next.

Saleen unleashed an Ice Bomb Fireball. The remaining holy masters were taken care of by Sika and Nailisi.

The triangular bone piece headed to the ground and Sika caught it. She sniffed it for a bit and smiled, patting the bone piece. “Well done, but you can’t just go about eating everything you can find. The holy masters and whatever are dirty, after all.”

The bone piece let out a gleeful sound and Sika carefully sheathed it into a slot in her belt. She put away the tree and took out her staff, taking to the air again.

The holy masters watched the third head inquisitor getting killed. There was no other course of action for them to take. They would die if they went back to the Holy See, so they charged at Saleen instead.

Saleen waved nonchalantly, and over a thousand icicles were conjured, raining down his enemies.

The icicles were filled with lightning patterns. While they were incapable of doing lightning attacks, the patterns allowed them to break down divine spell defenses. Nailisi was startled enough to halt as the icicles fell.

The icicles differed from the War Drum of Fear in that they were incapable of telling friend from foe.

Saleen experienced the edge of having overwhelming superiority for the first time. The holy masters were caught in the attack. He was able to target his enemies using mental powers, making sure none of his targets were able to escape the icicles’ attack.

The raging howl in the sky was still there. Saleen shouted at the sky, “shut up!”

His voice was imbued with thunder as it shot to the skies. It was a sound wave-type magic attack. The attack was originally a wind-type attack, yet Saleen’s unique lightning rules enabled his voice to travel even in vacuum. But it was still incapable of being used in a true vacuum.

The howl in the sky was disrupted and disappeared. The holy light showering down on the Skywell vanished as well. Saleen smirked coldly. This isn’t even Descension and you think cheap tricks like this are enough to scare me off?

Saleen’s vista was broadened after advancing to level ten. He became able of doing rough deduction on skills that he had never encountered before. If he deemed that an oracle or the double of a god would be upon them soon, he would choose to run.

However, the voice was simply resonance of holy might heard across the plane. The Lord of Glory was merely a level 15 god, but even if he were level 18, there was nothing for Saleen to fear in this situation.

Geniuses among humankind would take three to five thousand years to reach level 18. But when gods advanced, a single level would take them millions of years.

Saleen broke the god’s howl with his thunderous voice. The holy masters, by then, had lost all of the powers they were able to borrow, which ended up with them being thoroughly suppressed by Saleen’s icicles.

Saleen’s icicles were instant spells, and the cost in magic chords were negligible. Their offensive capacity was only at level six. With the power of the lightning patterns added in, they were barely considered a product of a high level spell.

The holy masters would have no problem defending against a single icicle. However, with over a thousand icicles taking turns raining on them, the Divine Protection that they had cast felt as if it was about to fall apart.

Seeing how a round of icicles proved incapable of killing the holy masters, Saleen waved again. This time, he drew power from the elemental badges. Over 3000 icicles were conjured and took turns raining down on his enemies again.

The reason Saleen took the trouble to refine the Icicle spell before he advanced was because the Holy See always overwhelmed their enemies through sheer numbers, which he found very annoying.

The Icicle spell’s cost only equaled the amount of magic chords at level six. Every 1800 icicles conjured only cost the amount of magic chords used to cast a level nine spell.

It was only a matter of time before the holy masters died. There were no longer any powerful ones from the Holy See to be found near them. Reinforcements would take over half an hour to arrive.

Saleen’s Elemental Eye did not catch any signs of powerful enemies showing up. Saleen threw Nailisi a scroll, which she took and flew to the edge of the Skywell.

The Holy See had used divine spells to alter the terrain around the edge of the Skywell. A slope of a steeper anger was over ten meters wide, sliding into the Skywell at an angle. Nailisi arrived at the top of the slope and unraveled the scroll. A huge Ice Bomb was fired down the slope, burning with white flames.

The Ice Bomb had a diameter of over three meters, yet the flames it was wrapped in were over a dozen meters wide. The Ice Bomb crashed onto the slope and destroyed it.

Seeing that the exit in the Skywell was destroyed, she landed onto the ground and began searching for holy masters who were tasked with laying down divine rune charm arrays.

Saleen monitored everything from above. His followers split up and took care of the warriors and holy masters from the Holy See. There were over 7000 people put into the Skywell to set a large divine rune charm array within.

The Holy See had no need to alter the terrain at the Skywell’s edge to construct slopes otherwise.

The 7000 people were considered elites when put into the battlefield, but the terrain was complex in the Skywell and huge boulders were everywhere, making grouped attacks difficult.

Jola and Sul jumped about in such environments like fish in the water. Eleanor simply rode on her Wings of an Elf and returned to Saleen’s side.

“Eleanor, nice work at advancing,” Saleen complimented her.

Eleanor just grinned. She had used over a hundred years to advance and then spent some time training in archery. It was all thanks to the demon magic book that Saleen had given her.

While her human body held her back somewhat, it came with benefits. She would not have been able to train in Saleen’s mystical arts if she was in her purely elf body.

While elves were beautiful, many skills were related to bloodlines. Skills developed by humans would work best with a human. It was just like if a human trained in dragon tongue magic, the result of a human using such magic would not be one-tenth of it cast by dragons.

If she trained with a body of an elf, she would never be able to master even a bit of lightning rules even if she spent 1000 years training.

“Saleen, why do we need to keep killing people?” Eleanor pointed inside the Skywell. The warriors and holy masters were no match for Saleen’s followers. It was not a battle happening, but a slaughter.

“Adherents. They can only be killed physically. Furthermore, both Don and Nicholas need people, so it’s a good idea to take some of them prisoners.”

Eleanor nodded. There were also wars over faith in the elf plane, and they were just as brutal. I guess fighting to rope believers in is something that happens in every plane. Unless it’s some primitive plane where they are no gods or outside invaders.

Battles within the Skywell were not over. At the same time, in a tall black church within the Tribunal’s headquarters, located beneath a mountain near the shores of the Tanggulasi Empire, the second head inquisitor, who was summoned, wore a grim expression.

The adjudicator who delivered news was a newly recruited subordinate of the great head inquisitor.

The great head inquisitor was gravely injured and was resurrected using the Divine Tablet spell. While the holy baby’s body would allow the great head inquisitor to gain greater power, he was rendered incapable of doing anything for half a year.

It was impossible for him to leave the Tribunal headquarters for the time being.

At a crucial time like that, it was reported that the third head inquisitor had died. Within the underground secret room beneath the church, the soul image under the great head inquisitor’s control crumbled. It was a sign of the third head inquisitor’s soul being destroyed.

“What did the great head inquisitor say?” The second head inquisitor’s tone was flat, which sounded like he was devoid of human emotions.

“He wishes for you to return to the Black Dungeon and mobilize the forces there. Most of the Tribunal’s forces are relegated to Daliang City, making them difficult to mobilize.”

“Black Dungeon huh?” The second head inquisitor’s tone remained unchanged, but he was against the idea. He was rather fearful of the head warden. He dared not step foot onto Black Dungeon Island without the great head inquisitor by his side.

“Yes, the great head inquisitor also said that both the Pivotal Council and the oracles are not to be trusted. Only the ones in the Black Dungeon can be considered our own,” the adjudicator elaborated calmly.
