Chapter 1145: True Oracle (Part 1)

While level ten sorcerers were not actually the highest beings in their plane, not even the oracles of the Holy See were confident enough to say that they would be able to take out the sorcerers with one hit.

Saleen’s Comet Flash brought him right before the sorcerer. He cast the Crystal Finger, and the sorcerer’s head exploded.

The level ten sorcerer’s body dropped to the ground, and the level nine sorcerers dispersed like flies, running for their lives. Saleen killed two level ten professionals using solely his strongest attacks and powerful equipment. Saleen had never been so explosively powerful.

The use of the Crystal Finger drained half of Saleen’s magic chords. The recoil was mostly absorbed by the equipment he had. The constitution of a level ten sorcerer enabled him to recover quickly.

“No one is leaving alive!” Saleen cast three more spells from his Starline Robe. The sky seemed to freeze over. It was a level 11 magic spell—Deep Blue Barrier.

Five powerful level nine sorcerers were killed instantly by stacked level 11 spells. They cast spells and invoked the powers of their equipment but were unable to escape Saleen’s wrath.

A thick layer of frost formed on the ground, and the surviving warriors were all frozen to death. The canyon turned white, and the temperature dropped below the tolerance of living beings.

Saleen’s body stayed in the air for a while before casting Quickcloud. The spell was quickly frozen. The mist froze into snowflakes and Saleen had to forcefully invoke the power of elemental conversion, enabling the snowflakes to burn. He then dove to the ground.

Boom!

Without help from Quickcloud, Saleen landed like a warrior and suffered intense pain all over his body. While his constitution equaled a grand swordmaster, he lacked the protection of sword aura, sustaining himself using only weak magic powers.

The Figure of Fate had to absorb the shock to prevent him from being injured.

The remaining level ten sorcerer saw everything happening on the plains outside the canyon, and felt as if his eyeballs were on the verge of popping out of their sockets. He cast Wind Travel without hesitation and headed straight for the woods in the mountain.

He did not dare to fly, as it would attract too much attention and he might be killed by Saleen.

Due to having run in a panic, he dared not even recall his fire dragon. The fire dragon continued to coil around the tower and breathe fire element powers.

The sorcerer had been frightened to the point of losing all sense of reasoning. Two professionals of his level and five level nine sorcerers died without being able to fight back. He forgot that he had a magic amplifier, which would make his powers equal at least three level ten sorcerers.

Saleen, on the other hand, strained his body beyond its limits due to using such powerful skills consecutively, which meant that he would not be able to use such terrifying attacks anymore.

However, Saleen was in no mood of pursuing the sorcerer. Nailisi’s body dropped to the ground and all three of her heads rolled elsewhere. Saleen dropped beside Nailisi and felt helpless.

The Water Fox emerged inside the canyon and stood before Nailisi’s body. She had the image of the Goddess of Myers. Her clothes billowed, and she looked stunning. The clothing on her body was constructed from water element as well.

The Water Fox looked at the dead body. “Your Highness, what price would you be willing to pay to resurrect this demon?”

“What do you mean?”

“I know that you have a grand plan, and I need to put a lot of energy into the plan. However, if I saved this demon, my powers would drop by two whole levels and become a level ten elemental creature. If I remain at level 12, your plan can be carried smoothly.”

“Save her!” Saleen answered without hesitation. He was in no mind to talk about plans of any kind at the moment.

“Will do. It seems like you value your people, Your Highness,” the Water Fox said plainly, learning something about Saleen. She might actually be able to acquire her freedom if she followed Saleen.

As to whether she was to treat Nailisi, that depended on Saleen’s wishes. She was unable to go against his orders.

Saleen realized the key to the problem when he looked around. Nailisi held the line, worried that someone would destroy the teleportation portal. If the portal were destroyed, there would be a possibility that he would no longer be able to return to Myers Mainland.

Even if he were able to survive, it would be totally pointless. His wives and his two children were still on Myers Mainland. If he were unable to return, he would be as good as dead to them.

A portal was difficult to destroy, but the same could not be said about a teleportation portal.

“Right, here, take this.” Saleen took out a bunch of notes, handing them to the Water Fox. “These are some notes regarding nature divine spells. You possess divine powers, so maybe they’d be useful to you.”

The Water Fox wore a bitter smile. “I have no use for these, Your Highness. When Myers took me back then, she force-fed me all kinds of divine spell knowledge. I originally planned to never use them even if I died. However, since you separated my soul, I no longer need to fear having the divine spells change my thoughts.”

The Water Fox did not know if she was lucky. Saleen had used an Eternal Control Shard to imprison her soul and prevent her from leaving, enabling him to punish her. However, it was due precisely to having undergone such treatment that her soul would be immune from the taint of power of faith if she used divine spells. Her nature itself was prevented from changing as well.

“Are there any risks involved in treating her?” Saleen asked.

“Your Highness, there won’t be any. There’s a fire dragon; take it out.” The Water Fox began preparing her spell. Her outer form was a statue of the goddess, making it easy for her to use divine spells.

All divine spells below level 12 were instant-cast ones, so long as she had ample divine powers to spare.

Saleen was relieved and tucked away the bodies of the enemies he killed. He was in no mood to inspect their equipment, as long as Nailisi’s shield, the Sword of Rules, the Grey Memory and the 12 Notes of First Purgatory were accounted for.

Saleen emerged from the canyon after putting away the dead bodies, arriving at his tower.

The fire dragon had little intelligence. It was still breathing fire to attack the tower. Saleen cast Deep Blue Barrier again and the dragon began to shrink. With the mage controlling it gone, the combat capacity of the fire dragon paled in comparison.

The Cloudflow mage that ran away lacked Saleen’s means of controlling the fire dragon’s soul, so he had no choice but to extract it. While doing so would ensure that the fire dragon would not turn on him, it also robbed the fire dragon of intelligence.

Without the mage’s command, the fire dragon was little more than a level ten target.

If the Magical Element Tower had not been sealed off, Sika would have been able to think of ways to deal with it, if she was able to come out.

The divine light cast by the Water Fox shrouded the canyon. She controlled the divine spell and sent the power of her life into Nailisi’s dead body. The reason why she was certain that she was able to treat Nailisi was because Nailisi had a special bloodline. Her soul remained intact.

The divine power dispersed the power of rules of the net. The Water Fox felt herself get increasingly weak. She had been a powerful water elemental creature, but the 10,000 years of imprisonment had robbed her of her powers, so she was only at level 12. Using divine spells to resurrect a dead demon put a considerable toll on her.

The only benefit was that the statue’s powers were activated. The Water Fox would truly be able to use divine spells without fear of the impact on her soul. The Water Fox’s water element powers were still retained.

She would eventually return to level 12 if she continued to accumulate power, and would not need to learn much. It could be accomplished with ample time.

Elemental creatures never lacked time. When she was able to return to level 12 again, the control that the goddess placed on her would no longer be around. If Saleen granted her freedom, she would not be bound to anything.

As a creature that survived from ancient times, the Water Fox knew that it was better to follow humans than gods. Following a human would allow her to achieve something someday, while she had to wait for the god’s downfall if she followed a god. Even if the god perished, there was no guarantee that she would be granted freedom.

Most gods had ample preparations before they perished, such as Myers, who trapped her in the divine power cage. If Saleen did not find her, she would have been trapped within until the end of her days.

What was even more terrifying was that the god might even devour her using their divine persona, making her a part of the divine persona and preventing her from being able to separate herself.

A divine persona was the purest thing to exist in the world. Being assimilated by a divine persona equaled losing one’s ego for good.

Seeing the power of life in Nailisi’s dead body surpass most level ten professionals, the Water Fox said, “in the name of Myers, the rules of nature shall be reversed and life shall be bestowed upon all living creatures. Thou shall need not have faith, need not follow me. O’ fallen soul, rise as of this moment!”

Nailisi’s devil form shuddered. It resulted from extreme pain of the soul. The soul in slumber was jolted awake, but was separated from the body.

While the Water Fox’s powers continued to drop, the powers of her body came from the statue itself. The statue was made of a material that even Grey Memory would have a hard time punching through. Her body’s strength surpassed extremely refined types of special metals.

She bent over and picked up one of Nailisi’s heads, casting green divine light on the wounds and reattaching it to the body. Nailisi continued to shudder from pain. The wounds were unable to be restored in an instant. It was a process that made Nailisi feel as if her head was being repeatedly severed.

Saleen finished putting the fire dragon away into the lightning cage. The lightning cage was the best place to put prisoners. No skill or energy would work within the lightning cage.

Saleen subdued the fire dragon and dispersed the last layer of fire element on the tower. The ones inside were finally able to see what was outside. Sika leapt out in excitement at seeing Saleen.

“Get back inside,” Saleen said calmly. He took Sika by the belt and hurled her back through the tower’s window.

The Water Fox sensed powerful professionals appear from faraway. It sent shivers throughout her body. It was not a feeling of fear, but disgust. The smell of gods!
