Saleen was right about his Comet Flash. If he were to advance the skill any further, he would have truly been able to shoot for stars faraway. However, the speed would have been different from what he had expected, reaching heights that not even his body would have been able to tolerate.
It did not take long for Saleen to get to Daliang City flying at such speeds.
While the city had been safe once again, the magic net remained installed and there were even more enchanters staying at the city. Only people trusted by Saleen and Lex were allowed into the place. Anyone else getting near the city would have suffered attacks from the enchanters.
Saleen was being very iron-fisted in the matter and there was nothing anyone else was able to do about it. Anyone who tried to enter the cemetery of the giant had to die.
Saleen did not even forget to use death magic to extract memories before killing those attempting the intrusion. All details, including who ordered them to do so, were not spared.
The heavy-handed approach was due to none other than the Lightning Moon. Despite the fact that the number of gods within the energy barrier was unbelievably massive, if any being below level 14 were to enter, they would have only survived either by having very formidable movement skills, or having equipment like Lex’s God’s Ring in their possession.
Saleen summoned the God of Magic Net to his side. The magic net at Daliang City opened up a pathway and let Saleen enter safely. Saleen then dived straight into the cave and headed straight for the cemetery of the giant below Daliang City.
Saleen was no longer that puny mage who hardly knew anything from before when he revisited the cemetery of the giant again. His Eye of Souls allowed him to see the dangers lurking within the cemetery of the giant, as well as loopholes to be exploited.
The energy barrier at the center of the cemetery was maintained by absorbing powers of the gods. Those gods were in a state that was neither dead nor alive. They were subjected to control by the Lightning Moon and had their energies extracted from them, thus enabling them to be imprisoned.
Such methods were very intricate and smart. However, there were also those among the gods who were unafraid of death.
Many gods had committed suicide only to have openings and loopholes manifest on that cage that trapped them. The Lightning Moon was costly to maintain in terms of use of energy. Supply would not have been a problem if it was allowed to be rotated and recharged. However, the Lightning Moon was the core of the entire cage, which meant that it was not allowed to rest.
If the state of things were to be maintained for another 10000 years or so, some of the most powerful of the gods would have been able to break through the cage and escape.
But then again, the giant might have ended up resurrecting before that and getting rid of the gods first.
Things were different at present. The reason why Saleen wanted to take the Lightning Moon was obviously not because he wanted to save the massive number of gods. As such, those loopholes were still not something he would have been able to make use of.
It had been a while since Saleen let Sika do battle, so he was no longer clear of Sika’s combat prowess. Both of his children were mages and so long as he keeps this matter of the cemetery of the giant to himself, both of them would have trained in peace and would not have felt bored, even if they were to be cooped up for three to five more years.
Saleen did not even bother bringing the weapon spirits out. He only took the 24 heroic spirits and Rafel with him. They then toured around the cemetery of the giant.
All 24 heroic spirits were astonished by the place. They wondered who that giant that had been a friend of the King of Glory had been.
They were unable to recall anything, but there was no doubt about the authenticity of everything before their eyes.
Saleen did all he was able to plunder everything outside of the energy barrier. That place was a vast world with ample space. There was even an ocean at the edge, making it possible that the place was an interdimensional space in itself.
After he was done plundering everything he was able to get his hands on, Saleen became clear of most of the powers possessed by the 24 heroic spirits. He had lowered his guard considerably against them as well.
He then took the 24 barging into the energy barrier without warning.
Thousands of gods awakened within mere moments. The Lightning Moon in the air loosened its monitoring of those gods, letting them deal with the enemy.
The powers of the 24 heroic spirits were already at critical point of the place’s tolerance. If any more of them were to show up, the powerful gods would have awakened as well. There was no way the King of Glory would have risked letting his friend’s remains be desecrated.
The 24 heroic spirits yelled angrily, knowing that they had been set up by Saleen. However, they had all signed contracts with him and it was only then, when they wanted to void the contract, that the total sum of their power of the soul paled in comparison to that of Saleen.
Are we going to just go on a suicide run? Those are gods, for goodness’ sake!
The heroic spirits brandished their weapons angrily and clashed with the gods charging at them.
Saleen then summoned Dante.
Dante the Thunder God appeared. He took flight and headed straight for the Lightning Moon. Saleen cast the Lightning Constellation and followed suit.
The materials used to built the Lightning Constellation was no doubt of high level. However, there were hardly any powerful rules found within. The Lightning Moon sensed organic matter approaching and cast hundreds of bolts of lightning immediately. A spherical shield appeared around Saleen—a level 15 Water Shield.
The Water Shield was the spell that Saleen had been most diligent in upgrading. That was a transmuted magic spell and was also a unique skill of his. The defensive properties of the Water Shield at it was then was entirely comparable to those of powerful magic equipment. While it was not on par with godly items, but it had a benefit that no godly item was able to compare to—it was able to be repaired at any given moment.
The hundreds of bolts of lightning were mostly sent to attack Dante. That Thunder God was a demigod and wielding lightning powers as well. Despite the might of the incoming attacks, they were only able to do as much as sending Dante flying for tens of kilometers.
Dante charged at the moon high in the high without fear. Those lightning bolts were like tempering his body. If he were to be subjected to 30 to 50 thousand of such attacks, there would have been any problem in getting it to level 15. Its divine persona would have advanced as soon as the lightning rules were completed.

However, things were not that simple and beneficial. The Lightning Moon unleashed another thick bolt of lightning, tearing it to shreds.
Dante wailed, but it was lucky as its divine persona managed to stay intact. It conjured another body in the air, but it no longer dared to behave so recklessly anymore.
Saleen brandished his family badge after defending against that lightning attack. The badge absorbed the electrical discharge on his body in a frenzy. Bolts of lightning came down at him from the sky. Saleen’s Water Shield went through one test after another in terms of tolerance from those attacks.
His family badge finally changed the way it absorbed energy after the Book of Lightning was taken out. He was able to take it in his hand and absorb the powers in the sky. All those lightning strikes were doing by then were to replenish the family badge’s power.
The power of lightning absorbed by the badge could be said to be boundless. Saleen had no need to care about the badge’s tolerance. That piece of remains of the Thunder God was a huge divine kingdom on its own. The Lightning Moon did not have such a huge space. The amount of energy stored in it was far below that of the family badge.
As such, Saleen was not worried at all. He charge at the Lightning Moon and greed was finally seen in his Eye of Souls.
What a perfect piece of equipment!
The moon with a tinge of blue in it was actually of oval shape. The two protruding sides harbored countless ever-shifting lightning magic patterns and sparkled brilliantly. Electrical discharges from the moon pulsed with a rhythm that soothed Saleen’s breathing. Little did he know that if it had not been for his lightning magic chords, such vibration frequencies would have been sufficient to even kill a level 15 professional.
Saleen’s Lightning Constellation sucked the Lightning Moon into it, and then it cracked.
Saleen was startled, but then quickly stuck his family badge onto it. The Lightning Moon had ample power within, but most of it was used against the gods. Wait, there are tens of billions of god creatures here?
He observed the space below him and found himself unable to properly count them. That was because many gods harbored vast spaces within their bodies, which in turn had massive number of god creatures residing in them.
Tens of billions of gods were not actually all that many. The number of god creatures in just one divine kingdom would have definitely exceeded such numbers. However, the number of god creatures trapped there were all above level ten. They might have even exceeded level 12 when they were alive.
It was hard to tell how much hatred the King of Glory had for those god creatures, and no one knew how many divine kingdoms he had destroyed, before he was able to amass so many of the god creatures to pay for their sins. Furthermore, despite having that many god creatures around, the extracted energies were still incapable of resurrecting the giant. If the giant were to be resurrected, Saleen believed that it would have definitely become a being that not even the rules of Myers Mainland would have been able to do anything about.
While the plane rules were indeed powerful, but when a creature’s strength exceeded what the rules were capable of governing, Myers Mainland would have simply crumbled on the spot.
There would not even have been a need to wait until the day where Myers advance to level 18, and begin to tap into the Source of the mainland.
Other than the Lightning Moon, the other greatest reason for Saleen to invade the cemetery of the giant, was the head of that giant. If that giant were to truly be resurrected, it would have spelled doom for Myers Mainland itself.
Just what the hell the King of Glory was thinking, leaving such a big pile of mess behind.
That was, unless the plane was connected to the giant plane. However, Saleen searched the place and found that within the space of the cemetery, there was definitely no other portals leading elsewhere.
You’re telling me you’re willing to sacrifice your own plane for a friend?
Saleen found himself getting increasingly incapable of understanding how ancient humans do things. That was probably what had gotten the King of Glory killed in the first place. Saleen came to learn many stories regarding the First Dynasty.
However, there had been many lost pieces and parts in the historical records in the astrology tower. Saleen was unable to tell if what he knew had been correct. Regardless, according to what he knew, there was no way the giant could have been allowed to resurrect.
The black material of the Lightning Constellation repeatedly cracked and repaired under the Lightning Moon’s attacks. The family badge was stuck on top of it, continuously absorbing attacks of the moon. Dante charged at the time.
Saleen then said, “Get inside.”
“Master?”
It sensed pain deep within its soul. Not even its divine persona fragment had been able to withstand the power of the broken jade. Dante was utterly surprised to find that Saleen had long planned to get rid of itself.
Saleen then said plainly, “You killed the Big Guy, and that was a subordinate I’ve promised to look after. So…”
“I’m definitely not…”
“Get inside,” Saleen said as he used the broken jade’s power again, forcing Dante’s body inside the Lightning Constellation.
The other two weapon spirits had also been summoned by Saleen and forced inside the Lightning Moon.
The three weapon spirits went crazy inside the Lightning Moon.
“You’d pay for this, Saleen!”
“You three are the ones who are going to pay! You are all descendants of the giant and you pretend that you’ve lost the memories of your past lives? Hahaha!” Saleen laughed hysterically. Those three thought that the broken jade fragments were simply there to confine their souls. When Saleen had finished training up his lightning territory, the soul vibrations of all three of them would have been copied by the lightning magic patterns on broken jade fragments, which were sent completely to Saleen.
He had been waiting for that day to come for a long time. The Goddess of Myers had seen the possibility of those three betraying him, and that was why she allowed them to advance after all.
