The dark-element creature, who was trying to devour the divine tree magic tower, managed to put up with the attack from the War Drum of Fear. The dark-element creature has also developed a soul, which explained why it would try to devour the magic tower. Its soul was still in a very early prototypical stage, unlike the souls possessed by Flare and the rest.
What made the divine tree magic tower powerful was the rule embedded within it and not its materials. When Saleen hit the War Drum of Fear, its attack was multiplied tenfold because of the effect of the magic tower.
The War Drum of Fear attacked all creatures with intelligence, even those whose level of intelligence was only at a beginner level. Creatures that possessed souls would be susceptible to greater damage.
The giant monster’s body began to cramp and the teeth that were clamping onto the magic tower began to fall off. At that moment, the surface of the divine tree magic tower exploded into a powerful light within the monster’s mouth. The light harnessed countless symbols that had flown out of the War Drum of Fear.
Ahhhh…
The giant monster opened its mouth and tried to spit out the magic tower. At that moment, the winged skeleton left the magic tower with his Meteor Hammer. With a huge smash, the Meteor Hammer exploded into flames and the explosiveness tore a wound that was more than 10 yards long in the monster’s mouth.
The winged skeleton never expected his Meteor Hammer to be capable of killing that monster. Flame shot out between his black and white eyes and into the monster’s brain.
The soul flames arrived before the monster’s soul in an instant, splitting it into two branches before twirling upwards. Life and death were decided in an instant when the souls clashed. Just as the monster was about to counter the winged skeleton’s attack, the latter’s soul flame has already tangled up with the former’s soul.
The monster might possess a physical body that was powerful enough to withstand the winged skeleton’s Meteor Hammer attack, but its soul was so fragile that it was instantly burned into bits by the black-and-white flames.
That was a new ability developed by Soldier’s soul flame after he had recovered. If it was in the past, such an attack would not have been so swift and accurate. After the attack, the whiff of soul flame would have also dissipated forever.
The soul flames could return back to the winged skeleton’s eyes and merge back with his soul flames. The winged skeleton did not dare to hesitate. With a flap of his wings, he turned around and returned to the divine tree magic tower.
Boom!
The dark-element creature’s body exploded. Saleen immediately cut off the sound from the magic tower with a buffer, but the entire tower continued to tremble. Some of the roots of the magic tower had also broken.
Elemental collapse!
The death of this dark-element creature had resulted in Elemental Collapse. Saleen was troubled. Elemental Collapse was a sign and not a spell. His magic tower was within the range of the Elemental Collapse, so no matter the quality of the tower, it would still sustain severe damage.
Elemental Collapse must be accompanied by Elemental Storm. Since this dark-element creature was so massive in size, the power harnessed by the collapse of the dark elements was strong enough to cause a break in dimension. Saleen decided to uproot the magic tower so that it would go with the flow of energy produced by the powerful Elemental Collapse.
The dark-element creature, that was a few hundred yards long, was the result of many miniature dark-element creatures devouring each other. This monster might look powerful, but after its soul collapsed, its body was no longer able to maintain balance. If Saleen had not stayed inside of the divine tree magic tower the damage caused by the collapse of such a massive elemental creature would definitely be more powerful than curses cast by tens of mages. In such an environment, it would be impossible for Saleen to escape.
After the magic tower was uprooted, an incredible power was produced by the elemental collapse of the monster’s body. The magic tower was enclosed within and was flown back towards the interior of the Imperial City of the Abyss. The Elemental Storm was absurdly powerful, and the power wrapped around Saleen’s divine tree magic tower. There was no way Saleen could see what was happening outside from within the magic tower.
After Elemental Collapse, those elemental creatures that had been devoured by the monster could no longer be contained. If Saleen wanted to ensure that his elemental badge was still in good shape, he would have to capture them all over again. The biggest problem was that Saleen had no idea where he was being taken to. He did not have a choice because he knew that if he had not uprooted the magic tower, all the power of the Elemental Collapse would fall on it and Saleen did not wish for his magic tower to be destroyed.
Without this magic tower, Saleen would never be able to find a safer place in the Imperial City of the Abyss.
In the Elemental Storm, the divine tree magic tower was being brought to the interior of the Imperial City of the Abyss. Due to the Elemental Storm, many more magic arrays were triggered and hundreds of attacking spells were unleashed. Fortunately, that was not a simple Elemental Storm. Within it was a new elemental dimension and dimensional tear caused by the collapse. As a result, the attacking spells had no effect on the divine tree magic tower.
The attacks from the magic arrays also weakened the damage caused by the Elemental Storm on the divine tree magic tower.
At that stage, Saleen could only succumb to his fate. Even if he kept the magic tower, he would still be trapped within the Elemental Storm. If the magic tower was to land in the ‘danger zone’, as mentioned by Flare previously, then Saleen could only wait until his badge has restored fully before attempting to escape.
The Imperial City of the Abyss might have been quiet and deserted for tens of thousands of years, but wherever the Elemental Storm passed by, the defense magic arrays would unleash beautiful and colorful spells. If one was to look down from above, it was as if the magic flames in the Imperial City of the Abyss were forming a magic string that was thousands of miles long.
On this string were plenty of spells that were above grade-10. If not for the fact that the magic arrays were somewhat damaged, perhaps even spells above grade-14 might have appeared. After all, the core of Imperial City of Abyss was occupied by the most powerful humans back then, hence the spells unleashed by any magic array would never be lower than grade-14.

It did not feel like they had been flying for a long time, or rather, they were unable to tell how much time had passed since they had no idea how many danger zones that the divine tree magic tower had flown past.
Boom!
The power of the Elemental Storm was finally used up and was no longer able to carry the gigantic magic tower. The magic tower descended at an angle and the surrounding dark elements quickly dissipated.
Strictly speaking, the dimension within the magic tower was independent of its exterior, it required adjustment by the mage instead of being transformed any time. Therefore, when the magic tower landed upside-down on an open space, so did Saleen.
Fortunately, sorcerers possessed strong physiques so Saleen was able to flip himself over easily. The tower needed to be put away, then taken out from the Dimension Stone again in order to correct its orientation. A magic tower that was more than 100 yards tall would need plenty of elemental stone statue soldiers in order to be moved.
The elemental stone statue soldiers were either broken or devoured by the Elemental Storm. It was the same with the blue ice maidens. Now, Saleen did not have any elemental creatures that were suitable for moving and flipping over the magic tower.
The divine tree magic tower and its core were made from the mechanical core of Sky City. Unfortunately, Saleen did not have enough motor to initiate the magic tower into flight. It would have to remain in this position.
The good thing was that the magic tower’s defense was still present even in that position.
Saleen quickly took control of the magic tower again and opened its magic arrays so that he, along with Nailisi and the winged skeleton, could see what was happening outside. It was no longer dark outside. Saleen could see a towering tombstone outside of the magic tower.
Saleen looked far and wide and saw that countless tombstones that shimmered with dim light. Most of the tombstones were still in good condition and were carved with ancient words.
“Flare, come out and see. What is this place?” Saleen quickly summoned Flare. He was worried by their location because he could sense something staring at him. It was clear to him that whatever creature it was, it was not friendly and could attack anytime.
“Master, this is… the graveyard of our royalty, of ancient heroes. This is also the resting place of the single-horned white whales. It is what you have been looking for.” Flare’s purple eyes were slightly dimmed. He knew that the place was dangerous, even more so that encountering the Angel of Fear.
Just as Saleen was about ask more questions, he saw an illusory gigantic foot swing out from the hundred yard tall tombstones to their side. The foot struck the divine tree magic tower and sent it flying.
The divine tree magic tower arced beautifully in mid-air and was finally in the correct orientation. Saleen took a glance with his elemental eyes and saw a footprint that was deeply imprinted on the divine tree magic tower. The tower, which possess the ability to restore itself, showed no signs of doing so. Just like the carvings on the tombstones, the footprint seemed like it would not be removed easily.
Saleen was on alert. When his magic tower was sent crashing onto the ground, he saw an illusory human figure stand out from amongst another cluster of towering tombstones. The figure held a gigantic war hammer and was about to strike.
“Stop, I am no damned disciple!” Saleen shouted in the ancient Myers language.
That illusory human figure stopped the attack and placed the war hammer by its side, allowing the divine tree magic tower to land before him.
“Who are you?!” This illusory human figure became clearer.
“I am a human mage, Saleen Metatrin. I was blown here by the Elemental Storm!” Saleen shouted in return. When he saw no response from the illusory human figure, he continued, “I am a king on the Myers Mainland. The Gods on that dimension have fallen and this magic tower was built from the materials left behind by them. Now, I am here to seek materials to be made into equipment for my own army.”
“Are you here to defile the dead? If you are a human as well, why do you have to bring your search here?!”
“No, no, no, I was only blown here by the Elemental Storm. Besides, I am trying to look for high-level magic nuclei, and not for any human corpses. I am not a death mage!”
“That is none of my business. Scram!” The illusory human figure did not care to treat Saleen with any respect, but neither did he show any intentions of attacking him with the war hammer.
“No, the humans on the Myers Mainland have become so weak that the strongest of them all are grade-10 mages and there are less than 10 of them on the entire Mainland. A God from another dimension is spreading his religion there and has occupied a quarter of the Mainland. My goal is to destroy the empire controlled by that God!”
“Oh? Is that the case?”
“Yes.”
“Then come out and meet me!” The illusory human figure shouted.
