After Lin Sifei finished showering, she splayed herself out on the bed like a giant pancake.
“Luo Ke, tomorrow I want the script writer of the current script and the in-house scriptwriters at your company to conduct a virtual meeting, so that they can discuss what they think of the current script.
Luo Ke was toweling her hair, “That’s fine, for these types of things you should just say them.”
She held up the hairdryer and patted Lin Sifei’s arm, “Sit up and blow dry your hair.”
“Later I will, but now I’m so tired.” Lin Sifei buried her head into her pillow, already wanting to fall asleep.
Luo Ke, seeing her like this, pushed her down, half sitting on her butt, pressing her to the bed.
Lin Sifei hummed, turning her head to look at her, “What are you doing.”
Luo Ke opened the hairdryer and lifted her hair up, carefully using the hairdryer to dry Lin Sifei’s hair.
Lin Sifei smiled sweetly, lying back down, “Luo Ke, you’re the best, I like you so much.”
Luo Ke glanced at her exasperatedly but continued to blow dry her hair, “So I’m good when I help you with your hair, but whenever I go against you, you scratch me.”
Lin Sifei rested her head on her arms, tilting her head slightly to watch Luo Ke, “You’re angry?”
“No.”
“Really.”
Lin Sifei narrowed her eyes, sizing up Luo Ke, and then abruptly tried to turn her body around. As Luo Ke was essentially sitting on her, she also fell to one side.
Lin Sifei pounced on Luo Ke, smiling while biting her own lower lip, “I want to also be good to you, but I’ve not gotten the chance. I’m only a little kitty, I can’t really do much.”
Luo Ke looked at her, and then raised her hand and stuffed the hairdryer in Lin Sifei’s hand. “Help me dry my hair, this is at least possible.”
Lin Sifei pouted, her lips puffing up. She looked at the hairdryer in her hands, and then nodded reluctantly, “I’ll try.”
With a serious face, she raised the hairdryer, flicked open the switch, and pointed it towards Luo Ke….
“Ah, that’s hot!” Luo Ke shook her head. “You need to keep the hairdryer moving.”
“But… this part isn’t dry yet.” Lin Sifei looked at her, confused.
“If you aim at one spot for too long, it’ll be too hot, so you need to keep it moving slowly for it to dry.”
“Oh, okay.” Lin Sifei nodded, seemingly understanding, but in reality, not really. She picked the hairdryer again.
And then proceeded to dry Luo Ke’s hair for the next ten minutes.
“The hair at the top of my head is already dry, get the tips.”
“Okay.” Lin Sifei immediately moved the hairdryer down, but the strong wind from the hairdrying caught the water on the tips of Luo Ke’s hair, splashing Lin Sifei all over.
“Ah.”
Luo Ke let out a long sigh and raised her right hand, “Give it to me, the rest I can do myself.”
Lin Sifei slowly gave the dryer back to her, “Sorry.”
As Luo Ke finished drying her hair, she looked over, “Why are you saying sorry?”
“I can’t even do such simple things.”
Luo Ke smiled and patted her head, “Whatever, you are a cat demon after all, so it is fine that you don’t understand a lot of what humans do. You’ll learn in the future.”
Lin Sifei’s mouth parted slightly. She wanted to tell Luo Ke that she wasn’t a cat demon, that she was a human before. But, if she did so, then would Luo Ke be as nice to her as before?
As she thought about it, Lin Sifei believed that when she was a cat, Luo Ke had better patience with her, and when she scratched her, she would not get angry, and even smile.
Lin Sifei puffed up her cheeks as she slipped into troubled thought.
Luo Ke finally finished drying her hair, and seeing Lin Sifei still sitting there, smiled, “What’s up? You’re not sleeping yet?”
Lin Sifei watched Luo Ke lay down, and silently thought about stuff for a few seconds before becoming a cat with a poof.
Luo Ke’s eyebrows creased a little as she petted Lin Sifei’s head, “Turning back into a cat now?”
She picked up her phone and took note of the time, “You’re a cat now, so if you turn back to a human tomorrow, we can calculate the amount of time.”
When Lin Sifei saw that Luo Ke had no sentiment towards her human form, she unhappily rolled her eyes and settled on the pillow, burying her face.
Luo Ke, believing that Lin Sifei was tired, smiled faintly, turned off the light, and kissed her forehead before laying down to sleep as well. “Good night.”
After some time, Lin Sifei slowly opened her eyes. As her cat eyes glowed in the night, she looked at Luo Ke, used her head to headbutt Luo Ke, and then settled back on the pillow, sulking.
When she awoke in the morning, Lin Sifei yawned before noticing that there was no one else on the bed.
She took a glance at the time, turned back into a human in a poof, pulled on some proper pajamas and yawned again as she walked downstairs.
“Luo Ke?”
No one responded.
Lin Sifei rubbed her eyes as she searched all over. Not in the living room, not in the dining room, not even in the study.
She pouted angrily, taking another glance at the time. Maybe she went to work? Doesn’t seem right though, recently Luo Ke had always gone to work with her, and their schedule was flexible in the first place. Why did she leave, and not even tell her.
Unable to do much else, Lin Sifei could only attempt to call her as she ate breakfast.
As she dialed, she was eating tea eggs.
“Sorry, the number you called was not available.”
Hmm? Lin Sifei wiped off her hands, picking up her phone, sensing something strange. “Why would it be unavailable? Isn’t her phone on like 24/7?”
She finished murmuring to herself, and continued trying to dial Luo Ke’s number.
Still not available. Lin Sifei became a little worried, but as she didn’t have anybody else’s contact, she could only wait.
As she planned, though, she sent the freelance scriptwriter and the in-house scriptwriters contact info and started the virtual conference.
In reality, Lin Sifei knew that the final product would probably be quite different from the original, but this script had some fascinating content that she wished would be preserved while the script underwent editing.
After they were finished with the script, Lin Sifei realized that 90 minutes had elapsed.
After Lin Sifei closed her computer, she noted that she didn’t have any calls on her phone. As she pouted again, she tried again to reach Luo Ke.
Why was there still no one picking up? She pressed her lips together, slightly worried, did something happen?
It was noon now. According to her conservative estimates, if she could at most be human for 12 hours at a time, then after subtracting the three hours that she spent with Luo Ke last night and the two hours in the morning she wasted, she had around seven more.
As Lin Sifei finished her math using her fingers, so let out a sigh of relief, “It’s good, it’s fine, I have enough time. Thank goodness I turned into a cat to sleep last night.”
She made sure to pack some cash and her phone, took a deep breath, and walked out.
As the sunlight peeked out from the roof and hit her face, Lin Sifei lamented about the weather. Although summer was passing, there was still the humid type of hot lingering in the air, as if it were steaming people alive.
Lin Sifei put on the hat that Luo Ke gave her, walking out confidently. This really counted as the first time she left the house by herself, since before, she basically had always been in Luo Ke’s arms. This type of feeling was really not the same.
The door swung closed behind her, the electrical lock beeping as it shut.
Lin Sifei froze for a second, and then checked her left pocket, and then her right. Yes, she brought cash, but what about the keys? Or maybe it was password and fingerprint?
Ah, so stupid. She had stuck to Luo Ke so much and was spoiled so much that she forgot to ask about the password or the fingerprint for the lock.
Lin Sifei took in a deep breath, and opened her eyes. Don’t panic, don’t panic, just get to the company to find Luo Ke.
Lin Sifei’s first outing would of course start with getting herself locked out LOL.
