The consumer crowd and connections in the main store were naturally a notch higher.
When she returned to Qin Xuan’s house, Qin Xuan was putting on a face mask. Xia Jin rushed to her and gave her a bear hug. She uttered excitedly, “I’m thriving in my job!”
Qin Xuan glanced at her indifferently. “Oh, congratulations. Don’t you have to treat me to a meal?”
“Sure, feel free to order whatever you want. You don’t have to be polite with me.” Xia Jin usually wore a serious and sophisticated expression. It was rare for her to have such a child-like look on her face.
Qin Xuan rubbed Xia Jin’s hair affectionately.
“Oh right, Sister Xuan, I’m going to move out in a few days. I’ve already found a house. It’s over at Bohai Garden.” Xia Jin was a little embarrassed to bring up this matter.
Qin Xuan frowned, her beautiful red lips pouting in dissatisfaction. “What? Is this Rich Lady Xia looking down on my small house now that she’s rich?”
“Of course not!” Xia Jin hugged Qin Xuan’s arm and shook it twice, acting coquettishly. “I’m just afraid of being the third wheel between you and Gu Xiao.”
Although Xia Jin was half-joking, Qin Xuan knew that Xia Jin always had a strong sense of self-esteem. She had no choice but to stay at her house for a period of time after being screwed over by Huo Jue.
Now that her condition was stable, she naturally wanted to move out.
Qin Xuan did not say anything more.
Two days later, Xia Jin moved into her new house. The house was naturally not as big as the one Huo Jue rented for her, but it had good lighting and some small appliances. Xia Jin was still very satisfied with it.
After she had just hired someone from the cleaning company to help her clean her house, Dong Yue took the initiative to contact her on her phone.
“Senior, do you have time on your day off? I’d like to treat you to a meal.”
Seeing Dong Yue’s message, the corners of Xia Jin’s lips curled up coldly.
It seemed that Dong Yue had gotten into the Huo Corporation. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone out of her way to invite her out.
In reality, Xia Jin had only met Dong Yue a few times.
When she was in university, Xia Jin was a member of the guitar club. Dong Yue was two years younger than her. When she joined the club, it was Xia Jin who took her on, so the two of them got to know each other.
But later on, Xia Jin was busy with her internship and job search, so she quit the club and never saw Dong Yue again.
After a few minutes, Xia Jin replied to Dong Yue’s invitation concisely, “Sure, you can book the place.”
In the evening, Xia Jin changed into a set of casual sportswear and went to the restaurant Dong Yue had booked.
The restaurant seemed to be doing well in their business. Xia Jin walked through the crowded corridor on the first floor.
She headed upstairs, and the private lounges on the second floor were much quieter.
When she pushed open the door of a private lounge, Dong Yue was already waiting for her there.
When she saw Xia Jin, Dong Yue stood up obediently and nodded at her. “Hello, Senior.”
Xia Jin sat down and smiled. “Just call me Xia Jin. It’s been so many years since I graduated. I’m no longer a young university student anymore.”
The two of them exchanged a few pleasantries before the waiter brought out the dishes. It was authentic dishes of the North.
“Sister Xia Jin, thanks to your help, I was able to succeed in my job application. Let me toast to you!” Dong Yue smiled shyly, revealing her two little cute canines. She looked youthful and delicate.
“It’s you who have the ability.” Xia Jin smiled faintly.
As they were not really that familiar with each other, there were vague signs of silence after she finished speaking.
A tangled look seemed to flash across Dong Yue’s face. She paused for a moment before mustering up the courage to look at Xia Jin. “Sister Xia Jin, I heard that you used to be Mr. Huo’s secretary. I’ve just taken up the post and I don’t understand many things. Can you tell me the areas I need to pay attention to?”
Sure enough, this was her purpose.
Under Dong Yue’s bright gaze, Xia Jin calmly ate two mouthfuls of food before raising her head.
“What to pay attention to…” With the previous experience of Annie, Xia Jin did not dare to say anything more this time, and just said vaguely, “Mr. Huo likes to eat light dishes, doesn’t drink instant coffee, and doesn’t like to be disturbed when sleeping…”
Hearing this, Dong Yue’s face revealed a surprised look, and her face instantly turned red.
Xia Jin’s eyes flashed.
She did mention this on purpose, and since Dong Yue had such a reaction, it meant that she have feelings for Huo Jue.
“So, don’t call him before eight in the morning and when he’s on his lunch break.”
Only when Xia Jin finished the latter half of her sentence did the flush on Dong Yue’s face fade a little, probably because she knew she had thought too much. Dong Yue picked up her cup sheepishly, took a sip of juice, and then nodded. “Okay, I’ll remember it.”
Xia Jin did not go into too much detail with Dong Yue. She decided not to do that thankless thing. The last time she told Annie about Huo Jue’s preferences, but not only did Huo Jue not appreciate it, he even got angry at her.
Since that was the case, she would just Huo Jue and his new secretary to figure it out themselves!
The corners of Xia Jin’s mouth curled up into a mocking smile. As she put down her chopsticks, she added, “There’s one more thing. It’s very important, Mr. Huo is allergic to peaches. No matter what peach it is, you must never give it to him.. The smell of peaches will make him dizzy, got it?”
