Xu Sheng continued to spew his bullshit. He didn’t even know how many minutes he had been speaking nonsense, but he also couldn’t stop and ask, “Can I please ask if I’ve said enough?”
“How many fucking minutes has it been?”
“Fuck, why isn’t it over yet?”
If he said these out loud, everyone would go crazy.
Xu Sheng spoke as if he were the school admissions representative. After he had finished boasting about the teachers’ strengths, he really had no words left, and could only casually walk a few steps around the stage and create his own program. He led the Sixth High students in a chant, “Sixth High classmates, shout together with me.”
Xu Sheng turned the microphone around a few times. “Sixth High Sixth High, victory is ours!”
The Sixth High students’ collective sense of honor exploded, and they actually followed him in this bullshit. “Victory is ours!”
“…”
Shit.
The others were shocked once again.
Did this school ever stop?
Although Meng Guowei was taken aback, who didn’t like listening to praise about themselves? He watched his genius youth happily, when a shadow suddenly fell on his face. “Xu Sheng?”
Shao Zhan walked out from the back of the row, and stood in front of Meng Guowei.
There was no way for him to signal to Xu Sheng from the back.
By walking to the front, he was a bit closer to Xu Sheng. Before he had walked out, he had taken off his cap, and without a word, he shoved it into Hou Jun’s hand, then found an excuse to ask, “Teacher, are there extra hats?”
Meng Guowei looked at Xu Sheng with his messy hair, then glanced at the good student on stage, and thought, this difference is so great.
His feelings were complicated as he scolded, “It’s only been a short while and you’ve already lost your hat?! Also, what’s up with your sleeves, roll them down! Look at you!” Meng Guowei sighed, and bent down to pick up another cap from the box beside him. “Be more like your classmates. You’re around so many good students, yet you never learn anything from them…”
When Shao Zhan took the hat, he also made a ‘stop’ gesture at the person speaking on stage before saying, “Thank you, Teacher Meng.”
Xu Sheng saw Shao Zhan, hat in hand, gesturing at him as if to say: You can stop now.
He let out a sigh of relief, and prepared to conclude his speech.
After relaxing so suddenly, he almost let slip the words “I don’t promise not to do this again”. Xu Sheng bowed slightly. “I… I’ve finished my speech. Thank you, everyone.”
Xu Sheng walked off the stage. Gu Yanwang suddenly thought of something. “This isn’t right. Why did it sound like that Xu Sheng’s self-review?”
Although the students had been forced to listen to such a long speech about how great Lin Jiang Sixth was, they still clapped out of politeness.
The audience applauded.
The other schools’ leaders also urgently spread the word. “Our school cannot admit defeat! Notify the student representatives. Later, when we introduce our school, we will not lose!”
As such, this national defense ceremony, under Xu Sheng’s lead, had turned into a school introduction competition.
Slogans emerged one after another, kicking off the military training with extraordinary spirit.
“We, Hong Hai Middle No.4, have a stable enrolment rate of 14%. We were established in August 2007. We now have six grades, 42 classes. Hong Hai Hong Hai, achieve your dreams and become leaders of the future!”
“…”
14% really wasn’t something to brag about.
Xu Sheng didn’t have the energy to think about all that. After he had come down, he immediately went to the back of the row, leaned on Shao Zhan’s shoulder and said in a low voice, “What happened?”
Shao Zhan, “You’re asking me?”
Xu Sheng was about to go insane. “Did you hear the thunder from on stage? It wasn’t enough last time so it’s happening again?”
They even had a signature move the last time: Jumping off the wall.

“We didn’t pass out, and there wasn’t any sign,” Shao Zhan coldly analysed all of it. “The previous time, we were only unconscious for a few minutes, and the day we jumped off that wall, we were out for about half an hour according to lao Meng. So we can understand it to be that our bodies are slowly adapting to it better.”
“?”

Xu Sheng, “… Stop saying it like that. Can you use a different phrase?”
Why was it that every time they talked about this, it always made people’s minds go to the gutter?
“Easier”?
Even implying that this time had been very smooth.
Xu Sheng was shocked by his own thoughts.
Analysing it any more would be of no use.
Xu Sheng simply had to accept the reality that he was once again Shao Zhan. For now, they didn’t know how long this would last, they could only hope that the next crack of thunder would come even sooner.
It was just military training…
Xu Sheng had classified the speech just now as an accident, and thought, it wasn’t an exam anyway, what could be worse?
“Hello, everyone, I’m your instructor, Wang.” The instructor for Class Seven was very eye-catching in the midst of the crowd of other instructors. He was thin and tall, handsome-looking, and straight backed. When he spoke, his voice was a little raspy. “Just call me Instructor Wang.”
Their class’ instructor wasn’t like the other instructors who came up and immediately started scolding.
Without saying anything else, he was already chatting to the students in Class Seven. “Who was the student who represented us just now? That wasn’t bad, very charismatic.”
“That’s right,” Some students began. “Take a look at our Zhan ge.”
“Zhan ge, you were really amazing just now.”
After the opening ceremony, all of the students separated into groups to go to the cafeteria for food. The first item on the agenda that afternoon was to organise their dorm rooms. Instructor Wang was going to come over to teach them how to fold their blankets. As they waited for the front row of people to walk out, Hou Jun said, “Improvising on the spot, if it were me I wouldn’t even be able to speak properly. Were you nervous just now?”
Xu Sheng, “What’s there to be nervous about, this kind of thing doesn’t even require thinking.”
Shao Zhan, “…”
The highest degree of strength was arrogance.
Xu Sheng spoke so forcefully, but it was only because he was in Shao Zhan’s body that he could hold up this arrogance.
The cafeteria at Green Boat Base had two floors. Sixth High students and Hong Hai Fourth High students were on the same floor. The layout of the cafeteria was simple, with six lunch counters on each side.
After waiting in line for a few minutes.
Hou Jun was the first to finish getting food but didn’t have enough hands for his bowl of soup. As he walked back, he began struggling more and more with holding it. He saw that ‘Xu Sheng’ was close by, and directly stuffed it into ‘Xu Sheng’s’ hands. “Sheng ge help me out, this soup is about to spill, and it almost turned into a disaster. My seat is on the side, can you help me bring it over.”
Shao Zhan held Hou Jun’s bowl of soup and didn’t refuse.
Xu Sheng said, “If the line goes quickly, I’ll help you get food.”
There were still about ten or so people in front.
After Shao Zhan left, the line slowly moved forward, maintaining its previous speed of flow.

The line reached one of the foundational pillars in the cafeteria. Xu Sheng leaned against it out of boredom, wanting to lower his head to swipe through his phone. However, when he felt around in his pocket, he remembered that this wasn’t his own military training uniform. He let out a sigh of regret, took off the hat on top of his head, and unfastened the buttons on his sleeve cuffs and pushed them up.
It was like giving himself a makeover. He immediately changed from a ‘cold study god’ to an ‘unrestrained school tyrant’.
Shao Zhan’s usually suppressed aura freely spilled out.
But Xu Sheng wasn’t quite like Shao Zhan. He always gave off an impression of idleness; when he faced others, he always had a habitual hint of amusement in his demeanour.
Xu Sheng finished rolling up his sleeves, but the line hadn’t moved.
Whispers continuously broke out behind them in the line, with sounds of pushing and scuffling, pushing until a group of red faced girls moved. One of them who didn’t have her hair tied up was pushed out. The female student’s long hair was pushed behind her ears. She wore her military training hat on her head like an ornament. She was pale, and her cheeks faintly pink. She walked in front of Xu Sheng and said in a very small voice, “Classmate…”
Xu Sheng looked up.
“Hello, I’m, I’m from Hong Hai Fourth High.” After the female student said this, she met Xu Sheng’s gaze. She paused for two seconds from shyness, and couldn’t continue, only handing over the paper note she held in her hand.
It was very obvious that the note included some kind of contact information.
Although he was currently in Shao Zhan’s body, Xu Sheng had been receiving this kind of attention since childhood. How could he not understand?
Xu Sheng’s ‘friend of women’ nickname wasn’t for nothing; he had always been very gentle towards girls, and had a high EQ towards them. Even if he was rejecting them, he would do so in a very skillful method. He would not make the other party lose face, and would even make others feel like their feelings had just been a misunderstanding. “Hello.”
Xu Sheng merely leaned against the pillar like this, a hint of a smile in the depths of his eyes as he looked at her. “Is this for me?”
After all, it wasn’t Xu Sheng’s own appearance. This kind of expression on Shao Zhan’s usual cold and aloof appearance was even more shocking.
Under his gaze, the girl was so nervous she forgot how to speak.
Xu Sheng planned on refusing subtly, with something along the lines of “You’re very pretty, are you just playing with me” in a joking tone to reject the opposite party, when he immediately changed his mind. He was currently Shao Zhan. Maybe Shao Zhan liked this type?
Xu Sheng glanced at the girl again. Her looks were decent; pretty and cute.
Heavens, how could there be such an understanding and kind person like him in this world?!
Although this pretence always made him feel rather uncomfortable.
But Xu Sheng didn’t think too deeply about it and continued pondering.
If he cut down Shao Zhan’s peach blossom like this…
Xu Sheng was conflicted over whether he should accept the note in front of him, but a second before his fingertips touched the paper, Xu Sheng’s hand was stopped by another hand reaching out from his side. ‘Stopped’ wasn’t quite an accurate term; it was more like suppressed.
Shao Zhan’s hand pressed against the back of his hand.
“Sorry.” Other than the warm palm pressing against the back of his hand, Xu Sheng also heard a cold, emotionless voice. “He doesn’t add friends.”
Xu Sheng, “…”
The girl was very stunned. “…”
After Shao Zhan finished speaking, he asked, “Was there anything else?”
“No…nothing else.” The girl retracted her hand and hid the note behind her back. It was difficult for one to not feel awkward after being rejected, but it was mostly because the person who had come to block the note was actually another handsome ge. This scene really made it difficult for one to feel awkward.
Not only was it not awkward, it was actually a little invigorating.
The same phrase burst within the thoughts of the girl and her other friends at the same time: Fuck.
The plot thickens!
The most bewildered one was the Xu Sheng leaning against the pillar.
But after Shao Zhan finished speaking he didn’t give him any time to react. His hand went up and directly gripped Xu Sheng’s wrist, and he dragged him back into the line, separating themselves from the girls behind them.
Shao Zhan released his hand. When he had been walking back, he had seen Xu Sheng staring at the girl in front of him and smiling. He said coldly, “Explain.”
Xu Sheng shook his wrists. “Explain what?”
Xu Sheng thought he wanted him to explain the problem of “why are you destroying his image”, but Shao Zhan instead glanced at him, and actually said, “Do you usually talk like that with girls?”
“…” Xu Sheng felt like this conversation was like an interrogation of his guilt. “What way was I talking, wasn’t that a normal conversation.”
Shao Zhan had no comment.
Fine.
Xu Sheng explained, “I was about to reject her, but if this had been the type you liked, wouldn’t you have ripped me to shreds?”
Xu Sheng finished speaking and saw Shao Zhan sink into silence for two seconds before saying two words. “Not really.”
Xu Sheng, “Not really what?”
“Not really my type.”
Xu Sheng was stunned.
Even the people in front of them had finished getting food. He didn’t even notice that it was his turn the next round. The cafeteria auntie banged the metal spoon and asked loudly, “––‘Lil fella, what do you want?”
After the girl behind them had retreated back, her friend observed the two people in front of them for a long while, before finally whispering into her ear, “Forget it forget it, in this era, of course even handsome ges will be with other handsome ges.”
After lunch.
The afternoon activities were arranged in their lodgings.
The room was split into top and bottom bunks, with eight beds in total. There were only six people in their little group, so there was no need to argue about positions.
The lodging head was Hou Jun.
Instructor Wang was giving out housekeeping lessons for both the male and female lodgings. He came out after finishing a lecture in the female lodging. When he entered their lodging, Hou Jun led the invitation. “Welcome, Instructor Wang!”
Xu Sheng didn’t squeeze with the ten or so other students, and sat outside the circle on an empty bed. His long legs rested against the floor, not invested in listening to the instructor recite one rule after another.
Five minutes later, he couldn’t sit still anymore. “Reporting–––”
Instructor Wang halted his movements. “Speak.”
Xu Sheng, “Applying for permission to go to the bathroom.”
Instructor Wang wasn’t very strict. He continued his movements while saying, “Go.”
Xu Sheng walked to the entrance, then remembered that he was currently Shao Zhan. In fact, he was much more well-practised this time around with switching bodies, and didn’t feel particularly ill-adjusted, which made his style seem a little too much ‘Xu Sheng’. He was worried Shao Zhan might think he was giving up, so Xu Sheng stopped when he was halfway there.
He secretly gestured a ‘five’ signal to Shao Zhan.
The meaning was, I’m just going out for five minutes, getting a breath of fresh air.
Shao Zhan closed one eye, and didn’t bother with him.
Xu Sheng directly left the detached lodging and walked forward along the shaded road. Hong Hai Fourth High’s B district was not too far away.
There were hidden paths between the lodging buildings. Further down were high, encircling walls. After being encircled, the path seemed like an alley.
Xu Sheng walked a little further and was about to turn back when he happened to see several students in the alley.
They were wearing green military training uniforms and were probably Hong Hai High students.
The one in front had a few strands of dyed blonde hair and wore earrings. He was currently squatting in the “alley” to smoke.
The group of people were chatting about something unknown. He could intermittently hear snatches of laughing and vulgar words.
Xu Sheng had heard of Hong Hai Fourth High’s name before. They were infamous for their chaotic school discipline. The teachers didn’t really discipline the students, and it was rumoured that there was a group of ‘school tyrants’ at school who mingled with those in society, and ‘gave lessons’ to people near school every Friday.
Xu Sheng didn’t linger, and was about to leave, when the smoker extinguished his cigarette and looked up and out of the alleyway.
Xu Sheng didn’t know if he had misjudged it. When the smoking person saw him, his gaze didn’t move away, but instead landed firmly upon him. That person then almost seemed to smile. He walked forward two steps, his tone ambiguous. “…Shao Zhan?”
Xu Sheng, “…?”
