Chapter 42: Chapter 42 Eat

Aunt Qiao came out wearing an orange long skirt, a fitted crop top, and a veil. Her mate is holding baskets. They went towards them immediately and waved at Hu'er, "Hi Hu'er! Are you ready to go to the center and do some trade?"

Hu'er smelled something different coming from Aunt Qiao as soon as she got closer to them. It's a different smell than what Aunt Qiao usually smells. She didn't like it. Hu'er didn't ask or tell her about it but instead, she answered, "Ready!" And sneaky stopped breathing air. If she could smell it, others could too. But no one is speaking about it so she didn't know how to tell her either.

"Let's go!" She pinched Hu'er's cheeks before going first to the center. Jiu Hu is following them and keeps their distance.

He is smiling in amusement. "The smell is gone," he informed her and chuckled. Jiu Hu felt Hu'er stopped breathing earlier but he immediately realized why she did it so he didn't ask or panic. 

Hu'er breathes out and asks him in a low voice, "Why? That smell…?" She shivers and feels like puking.

"You don't like it?" Jiu Hu amusingly raised his eyebrow. Min He, Jiu Lin, and the rest who are surrounding them could hear them talking. Min He and the rest of Hu'er's Daddies are amused too. They remember their mate doesn't like the smell too. Mother and daughter are the same in almost everything. However, Hu'er's future mates also didn't know what that smell and 

confused by their reaction.

"Don't like it." Hu'er puffed her cheeks. "Why does Aunt Qiao smell like that? What was that?" That's Xin Hua's mommy so Hu'er deliberately lowered her voice more. Yet because the beastmen have great hearing and Xin Hua is just beside them, he still could hear it. He feels ashamed. He too didn't like his mother's smell for today. Xin Hua thought that his Mom definitely got scammed by putting on such a bad smell.

"It's a way to make the beastmen go away from our female. Only our Fox Tribe's beastmen have that smell.." Jiu Hu stops. He didn't know how to explain it well or how he can phrase his word in a way Hu'er would understand without feeling bad.

"Huh?" Hu'er didn't understand what that meant. Her mind couldn't wrap up with what her Dada is talking about.

Min He walked beside them and volunteered to explain, "Most females who don't want to look for a new beastman will wear things from their mate or future mate. The things from beastmen have their own smell. It's indirectly telling other beastmen to not think about their female as she doesn't want to have another mate. Another way is females letting their fox beastmen mate with them before going out. They will not wash up their female so the female will continue to smell like them. It will make the female confident when going out as no beastmen would like a female who is in public to have a smell like that. Other Tribes have their own way too. Ours is just… like that."

"Oh…" Under the veil of Hu'er, no one can see how embarrassed she is right now, her face is red and her lips are pursed, even her neck and ears are all red. She closes her eyes to calm down.

Jiu Lin, Shun Su, and Song Li are all blushing as well. Xin Hua didn't know what to do and just ran toward her mother who was waiting for them. All Hu'er Daddies have smiles on their faces. When they didn't know such a thing too and asked why there is such a smell they ran away with their face blushing. Seeing them do it too made them so amused. Now they know why the older generation was laughing at them, back then.

They could see the tables and booths from there too. "Hu'er! This is it!" Aunt Qiao is waving at her. Aunt Qiao standing there already made others stare at her but her shouting like that made others who didn't see her gain their attention. Of course, most of them look at the person she called. The interest of beastmen towards Hu'er has risen. Aunt Qiao who was excitedly waving at Hu'er, finally realizes what she's done.

Jiu Hu, Hu'er Daddies, Jiu Lin, and Hu'er future's mate are glaring at those beastmen. When they got to Aunt Qiao she immediately apologized. "It's fine. Either way, they would still see Hu'er once we got here. It will be the same. Shall we go to Lin Wei Yu's table now?" Min He gently smiles. He didn't like what she did but wouldn't be mean to her either. Hu'er likes her Aunt Qiao. They could see how Hu'er pampered Xin Hua too. They could only glare and intimidate the beastmen.

"Yes. Yes, let's go." Aunt Qiao is too embarrassed by what she did so she walks much faster toward Lin Wei Yu's table.

Xin Hua and his Daddy didn't walk faster and waited for Jiu Hu. "Sorry. It's been years since she got this excited. We made trouble. I apologize," he muttered and sighed when Xin Hua's Daddy got beside Jiu Hu.

"Don't worry about it." Jiu Hu pats his shoulder and smiles at him. He went ahead and walked toward Lin Wei Yu's table. Xin Hua didn't feel bad anymore and followed Hu'er. His Daddy only helplessly smiled.

While Hu'er is actually too distracted to notice what was happening. There was too much food and materials she could see. She remembers what the lantern festival looks like. It's just like this but people go to the market in the evening. She kept track of where she would go after going to Lin Wie Yu's table. She really wanted to try cooked food and trade some goods. Her Daddies are holding those meat, and materials for a reason. Hu'er can trade whatever she wants to. But first, she needs to go to Lin Wei Yu's table and their tribe's trading place.

"Is this Hu'er?" An unfamiliar female voice made her look away from handsome beastmen, I mean, food.
