"The Beastmen's Mate is a White Lotus."

Hu'er's eyes widened. She becomes dazed, looking at the floor yet no floor is in her mind. She is in deep thought. Those words are just right to where she is right now. She does know what white lotus means. Someone is pure in appearance but the opposite inside. But what is the connection of this title to the world she is in? Hu'er starts pushing herself to remember the content of the book.

While Hu'er is thinking the three are puzzled by what they heard. They asked themselves what she said, "But I heard she said white lotus." Shun Su scratched his hair, confused.

"White lotus? Do Hu'er want to eat lotus seeds?" Song Li thinks he was right. His eyes are shining. Song Li remembered the white lotuses in the Sheep Tribes pond. Their females love to eat it too. It's very healthy food for them.

Most females would eat it in different ways. His mom loves it too. Song Li's Daddies know how to cook a variety of food that have lotus seeds. He wants to learn how to cook it. He wants to cook for Hu'er.

He immediately decided, "I'll go and harvest some." Song Li didn't care if it takes him two nights and a day to go to his tribe and come back for lotus seeds. He will get what Hu'er wants.

Hu'er tapped out when she heard someone standing up, "Where are you going?"

Song Li pointed outside, "Going home to get your white lotus seed." His mom has a pond that is full of lotus, not just white lotus but small different colors of lotuses.

Hu'er looks at him puzzled then realizes that he might misunderstand her. She shook her head, "No! I don't want to." Wanting to think of a reason to make him stop asking she just said, "I want to rest."

His body is hesitating to go out or stay, "Are you sure? I can—" He wants to go and give her everything she wants, it's just lotus seed. It's not rare in Sheep Tribe.

But was interrupted by Jiu Lin, "It's fine. Since Hu'er wants to rest let her rest." He saw how Hu'er looks. Jiu Lin has seen her look like that many times. "If you need us we will be in that corner." He pointed at the corner of the room. It is the farthest from Hu'er's position as her fur blankets are to another corner.

"Why are we going here?" Song Li whispered to Jiu Lin as he followed the three to the corner. Although he is confused these three know better than him when it comes to Hu'er.

Shun Su explained as soon as they sat on the corner, "Hu'er likes to be alone. If Hu'er said that she wants to rest it means to go away. If you want to be one of us, you need to familiarize yourself with what Hu'er wants. Mom told me 'If you don't understand your mate how can you have a good life?' It means—," he was interrupted by Jiu Lin's hand tapping his head.

"Shun Su," Jiu Lin's warning tone made Shun Su stop blabbering.

"Oh," scratch his head. This is his problem. He loves to blabber, talk, tell stories, and such, but it became his strength when it comes to Hu'er as she loves to listen to every bit of things that happens outside the house.

"Don't mind him. He talks a lot but Hu'er likes Shun Su's hobby. He's been taught well by my sister-in-law, we're glad about it but you don't have to pressure yourself or push yourself to understand her." Jiu Lin saw how Shun Su looked helpless so he said that. Of course, what was said is nothing but the truth. And because of his words, Shun Su is beaming again.

They are quiet for a bit. Shu Su couldn't help himself and asked Song Li, "Are you staying here now?"

Jiu Lin is looking at Hu'er who is still in a daze but his ears are twitching waiting for Song Li to answer. Xin Hua and Shun Su are looking at Song Li, curious. "No. I still need to go back to my Tribe," Song Li said with so much sadness. He didn't want to come back and just live near Hu'er's house but he knew that he couldn't. Staying here for a while is fine but not for long.

"Oh," Shun Su nodded and look at Hu'er, waiting for her to signal them to come back.

After a bit, Song Li hesitatingly asked, "But.. Ah. When are you going to build the house?"

"When Hu'er turned six." This time Jiu Lin looks at him.

Song Li counts with his fingers, "Four years… Our cotton tree should be good by that time. I can make her a soft bed and cushions." His eyes are shining and he is grinning.

Jiu Lin remembered the first time he visited the sheep tribe when he was still a cub. He slept on a very soft bed. Then recall how Hu'er kept on moving around because the bamboo bed is too hard even with some fur in it. They did put a lot of fur on it but she insisted on just giving away or trading the bed as it consumes too much space.

"She would like that." Jiu Lin decided to make a bigger room for Hu'er.

"That's great! Okay, I will do that. I will stay here after making it to help you guys build the house too." Song Li wants to help build Hu'er's house, even if it's a small part of the house to make sure he has a touch in their home.

He then asked Song Li how he could make the bed. They began to plan their own home. They want to make it big even if it would cost them an extra fee every season they would do it. They even want to build a small pond and plant berry bushes at the side of their home.

Meanwhile, Hu'er is deducing everything that she remembers about the book. One by one she connected everything and finalized what might be the reason why this happened to her.
