Hu'er went inside her room and slammed down on her fur blankets. "I'm so tired~"

She closed her eyes and stretched her body. Hu'er could hear some of her bones snap. That's how tired she is. Her legs are hurting from sitting for so long. She then stared at her swelling hands and sighed. Her hand is so delicate.

She looks up to see Jiu Lin who is blushing. He is not looking at her but at the basket he is holding. Hu'er's confusingly stood up. She is already in front of Jiu Lin.

The book that Hu'er hid under the berries is exposed due to the berries moving when Jiu Lin walked upstairs. Jiu Lin saw it when he was about to organize it.

Jiu Lin looks at Hu'er, and freezes before looking away. Hu'er took a hold of the basket wanting to take it from Jiu Lin. "I'll hold it… Where should I put this?" He muttered.

Hu'er didn't speak but boldly took the book from the basket. Jiu Lin was too shocked. He didn't expect that Hu'er would be so bold to take it under his eyes.

His mouth was open wanting to speak but didn't know what to say. The basket he is holding trembled making some berries fell.

"The way you react means you've seen this." Hu'er went closer to him and tapped the book on his chest.

He trembles, "I— I didn't mean to look…" Jiu Lin took a step back when Hu'er got closer to him again.

Hu'er took a hold of his shoulder stopping him from stepping back. She stood on tiptoes and whispered in his ears, "Do you know what's inside?"

"This…" Jou Lin's body shrinks.

"Do you have this kind of book?" She stood properly and looked into Jiu Lin's eyes.

"I—I have…" He hesitatingly nods.

"Did you open it?" Hu'er got closer to his face.

Jiu Lin could feel the hot breath of Hu'er fanning his face. He feels suffocated. His hands felt itchy. Jiu Lin gulped. Trying to regulate his breathing.

Jiu Lin really wanted to push her down and do what he saw in the book. The look Hu'er is giving him is so hot that he wants to devour her.

Luckily, he could still stop himself. "Ahmm…" Jiu Lin looks away.

Hu'er chuckles, "Make sure to learn some then." She kissed him on his neck, thinking that this would be her apology gift. She turns away and went to her fur blankets.

Jiu Lin was frozen there. Still standing where Hu'er left him. His body is tensed and flushing red.

Hu'er glance at Jiu Lin and start observing the cover of the book. It is indeed the same kind of book cover. They would indeed misunderstand the other book if someone saw it.

Hu'er gave Jiu Lin an explanation that he never thought would happen. "The book you saw, the first one, is unlike what you think it is. You misunderstood it. Old Grandmom will give you a copy of it. But this book." She raised the book and tapped it. "Is what you think it is." Then, I stared at him.

He didn't explain too much but Jiu Lim got the hint of it. Since Old Grandmom will give him a book, Jiu Lin would understand what she was saying. "Hu'er…"

Her eyes suddenly shine. She beamed and said, "Wait! Let me see if it really is."

"Should I go—" Jiu Lin panicked and didn't know what to do.

Hu'er opens the book and nods with a smile. "Ah, it is…"

When he heard her, he sat down and took the berries that fell earlier. She is watching Jiu Lin picking the berries. Jiu Lin looks up to see her hot gaze then looks at the book. Hu'er repeated it.

Jiu Lin is so embarrassed. He really wanted to run away.

He could feel himself trembling. "En." His breathless. Jiu Lin put the berries down to the side and drank some water that he saw.

Hu'er chuckles. For some reason, the way Jiu Lin drank the water is funny to her. She didn't tease him anymore and let him calm down.

The redness on Jiu Lin's body was finally gone. It was just in time that Ke Rin came up. He looks embarrassed.

"I couldn't see the balm immediately so I can only come up now" Ke Rin went in front of Hu'er.

"It's fine." Hu'er gently smiles at him.

Hu'er hummed and nodded her head. Ke Rin continues to nag her like an old mother as he puts the balm on her hands.

"Why did you even want to carry it? What's so interesting with that basket?" Ke Rin is still focused on putting the balm on her hands and did see the exchange of gaze that Hu'er and Jiu Lin had.

"I just wanted to carry it so that I can increase my strength." She just gave him a reason.
