"...My condolences, I had a similar experience in losing my loved one as well." -Chief
"A curse?" -Jonas
"No, a conflict between common interests from a partner."
"I see, let's drink this tea as a toast to our loved ones."
Jonas filled his cup with tea again and they both raised their cups before gulping it in one shot.
Chief finished his cup first and contemplated the curse while waiting for Jonas to finish his second cup.
"I wish I had alcohol but that's bad around my girls."
"What a caring father."
"I have to make up for my time for not being there for her."
"Hmm, do you want your daughter to hide in the bushes for this long?"
"Libra! I told you shouldn't have come."
Sniffing and little sobs were heard from the bushes towards the right of their table. A little purple-haired girl slowly crept out of the vegetation and shyly averted her gaze from her father and the guest.
"A-aah. HIC! S-sorry Papa. I w-w-was too curious and w-w-want, HIC, to listen...." -Libra
"Don't do it next time, go and get and cup and sit down. We're nearly done and I just need to ask a few questions. Bring some of that left-over cake as well, I don't think our guest hasn't tried our local cakes."
"HIC, yes Papa," the little girl sniffed and skipped away back into the house.
"You have a great daughter." -Chief
"You should see the rest, all of them are sweet little angels."-Jonas
"So, what do you want to ask?"
"You have red eyes yet you don't have the curse. There must be something with your body to have the oddity."
"Is it not a visual symptom?"
"No, I'm a Biologist and investigated their bodies and compared each sister. Something is obstructing the normal flow of their body, something that is clogging them. I don't quite see it but it's there. Instead of inhibiting their bodies, it instead accelerates their natural growth. So, I'd like to ask, what is in your body?"
"....I'll let you study it but I can't let you hold a sample of my blood and I must oversee all experiments."
"...Why? Is it that weird?"
"...You'll see."
"Papa, mister. Here is the cake! Mister, this is our local Carrot Cake, made by Ares. She's good at baking." Libra came back with a cake, some plates and forks and a little cute cup for herself.
"Thank you," Chief said as he looked at Libra's eyes, trying to see any oddities with her.
"....Umm, mister? Can you please not stare at me too much?" Libra said as she hid behind her father, burying her face in her arms.
"Sorry, I was just inspecting your eye. You can just call me Chief. Jonas, I managed to see what you mean." -Chief
"Really?!" -Jonas
"Yes, the curse might be accelerating their growth so it can have a stronger body and then spread when it gets more powerful. Eve is a genius, coming up with an ingenious idea of the children splitting, even if it was inhumane."
"I see, so I need to try and find a growth inhibitor to stop this growing symptom."
"No, that doesn't solve the root problem and only cause your daughters' suffering. Our best bet might be researching my samples, but it must be kept in moderation."
"I see. You are very paranoid about your body, yet you sound like a fellow scientist."
"...There were a lot of complications during my studies. You'll see."
They grabbed their forks and started to eat the carrot cake, Libra was eating little pieces and chewing with her cheeks like a happy little hamster.
'Oh, I still have my taste buds.' Chief was surprised when he savoured the cake slice.
"Delicious, isn't it?" -Jonas.
You are reading story Black Bullet: Red-Eye District at novel35.com
"Indeed."
"How long are you going to be here? I would have recognised you unless you just came today."
"Yes, I just came into France today. Not too sure how long I'm staying, maybe a month or so. I still need to go and find a hotel room for the stay."
"Oh, why don't you just stay here? We got plenty of rooms."
"Papa, you can't just let a stranger stay at our house." -Libra
"She's right, Jonas. You shouldn't be inviting strangers into a house where there is only one parent who is occupied by work and 12 girls." -Chief
"Sorry, I just thought it was fine inviting you since you had no lodging and you don't seem like a bad person. Otherwise, I wouldn't have invited you. I have quite the keen eyes on people." -Jonas
"....I wonder about that. The sun is about to set so I won't impose on your family time. I'll look for somewhere to stay."
"...Fine, I'll invite you again when you get used to my family. Can I have your contact number so I can arrange dates for our experiments?"
"You can have my satellite radio."
"Peculiar man, not every day you see a satellite radio."
"I won't be leaving anytime soon so it is convenient."
"How cautious."
"Too used to it."
"?" Libra was confused by their short yet confusing conversation.
The trio cleaned up their plates and walked back inside the mansion. As they entered through the back door, a little light green-haired baby was crawling around the room, looking around with curiosity before letting out a cry when she saw her father and older sister.
"Wah."
"Oh, Virgo, are you hungry already? Let's wait for your sisters to wait up and we can eat together," Libra said as she went and scooped the baby up.
"Wah," Virgo cried as she pointed her little fingers to the Chief. Her pretty red eyes were looking deep into his dark red eyes.
"This is mister Tatsu Nezu, say hello to him." -Libra
"Hah!"
"Just call me Chief." -Chief
Libra was occupied with her little siblings so Jonas was left to send the Chief off.
"Is it alright if you come back around lunchtime?"
"Sure, I want to eat some things first before I arrive at your home."
"Should eat here when you arrive but it's your choice."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Chief opened the door and saw his two dogs sleeping lazily on either side of the entrance. However, in front of them was a group of girls that all had different coloured hair, yet all had the same red eyes. They were wary of these strange dogs that just chilled on their front porch and were even more shocked when a white-haired man just opened their door. Except for one girl.
"Oh, mister?"
"Oh, you're the waitress from the cafe."
"Why are you here?" The blonde waitress asked.
"I was dragged here by what I think is your father. I need to go to find lodging now. I'll take these stupid dogs of mine. Take care!"
The Chief held the two sleeping dogs by their nape and effortlessly held them up like little shopping bags.
"Mister!" the blonde shouted to the Chief just as he was about to leave, "Um, um um, can we go on....a date...." She proceeded to blush after realising she was asking for a date in front of her house and front of her younger sisters.
"Right, I did promise you. How about next week? I do need to familiarise myself with the local area."
"AH, YES! Ah, I mean, thank you very much." The blonde blushed again after realising she looked too excited, still couldn't get rid of the bubbly feeling on her face.
"Have a good night."
And he continued to hold his dogs and left the place, leaving a group of scared little girls and one blushing at the entrance.
"...Ares-nee, who was that?"
"...."
"Nee-chan!"
"Oh, sorry. Just someone I met at work. Let's go inside, it's getting late."

Two figures swayed in the bushes that concealed the moonlight that threatened to give away their position. They slowly crept within the leaves and set their sights on a very worn-down mansion. After looking around and seeing no obvious entrance from their position, they decided to circle for a window or little opening. The crowbars in their hand were gripping with excitement and the duffle bags were light, anticipating their space to be filled when they leave. The two figures were dressed in dark clothing, one having a hockey mask and the other with a black balaclava.
"Dammit, where the fuck is Clown? He has the layout of the place." -Hockey Mask
"Dunno, I heard he was drinking today and didn't come back to the shed." -Balaclava
"Dumbass, drinking before the night! We'll just split between ourselves."
"Why were we here again? I don't see many valuable things."
"I heard from Clown that this is owned by a rich lab guy. We can steal some science stuff and sell them to the black labs. It's really easy to sell those chemical things."
"Sweet, nice and easy money from a nerd. We should still be careful about this place though. I hear those kids live here."
"Kids? You think it's those with the red eyes."
"Yeah, those are the ones. The Cursed Children. They might be here so be careful."
"Man, the older ones have such nice bodies. They are such a feast to the eyes."
"Idiot, they are called cursed for a reason."
"So what are you called?"
"Huh? Balaclava. Why are you asking that?"
"What do you mean? I didn't say anything."
"That would be me."
Hockey and Balaclava immediately turned around and got ready to tussle with their crowbars. Behind them stood a man with white hair and a black cloak at hid his frame. The red eyes pierced in the night to the depths of their souls. Their body shook in fear for this mysterious man just crept up to them so silently.
"Who the fuck are you?!" Hockey shouted and swung his crowbar at the head of the stranger.
CRACK!
"Crack?"
A monstrous jaw crept out of the dark and bit on the metal tool, shattering it like hard candy.
"WHAT THE HE-"
Before Hockey could finish his words, a black shadow flashed and speared at him, Something latched on his arms and dragged the masked man into the depths of the night.
Balaclava was shaking to the soul, he was terrified. He didn't even hear his partner scream, Hockey was gone in an instant.
The white-haired man started to approach him, immediately making Balaclava fumble on the grass. He scrambled his hand around, trying to find the crowbar he dropped but realising it was useless since it would break into pieces like before.
"Do you know what you are called?" -Chief
"Huh?"
"Do you know what you are called?"
"Ummmm, I d-dd-d-don't know."
"TRASH!"
Pulling out the Zeroth Scythe, the end of its pole sharpened with a spikey end and extended forward, striking Balaclava between the eyes.
It pierced through, clean and without resistance.
Balaclava couldn't move as he slowly felt his senses leaving him, the pole resisting his last meagre movements. The pole was pulled back and slipped out of the body, leaving the pathetic thing slopped on the grass, now stained with blood.
"...What a bunch of trash." The Chief sighed before sucking the body into [INVENTORY].
"Why did you take the body?"
The Great Dane moved out of the bushes, holding a mangled corpse. The hockey mask cracked and revealed the horrid man's face, unable to resist the pain and death from the dog.
"I need the corpse so I can experiment with the conditions of the natives in this world."
"No, give back my meal." -T-Rex
[PRESS]
Chief pointed at T-Rex and the dog felt his mass become massively heavier, smashing on the grass and losing grip of the mangled corpse. T-Rex tried his best to resist but the pressure continued to grow the more he resisted.
"It seems your free time in God Eater without me has made you a bit too greedy."
"...My apologies, Chief."
"I need to get you on a diet, buddy."
"Please! Anything but that."
"Then be on your best behaviour. I have never starved you without reason."
"That is true."
Chief elevated the pressure and T-Rex grumbled, looking back at the rigid corpse and started to chew on its skinny bones.
"Ollie, you can dismiss [SOUND DOMAIN] and [NO PULSE]."
"Woof."
"You know you got [COMMUNICATE]."
"Woof!"
"Fine."
The area around the confrontation lost its unusual shade, opening back to the world. The scene was cleaned up with [INVENTORY], the space inside being infinite.
The trio scouted around the mansion for any more threats before slowly flying on top of the building with [DISTORTION].
'I still can't sleep.....' Chief thought as he snuggled himself between T-Rex and Ollie. T-Rex was still chewing on the bone, crushing inside to lick on the marrow. Ollie was easily asleep, with its little snore being concealed with [DISTORTION].
'I'll just sort out the [INVENTORY] since I don't have [SYSTEM] anymore. Wow, got a lot of stuff on that hunt. I don't like these materials here but they are still something. Oh, I did manage to get that tooth...'

"Wah"
A little green-haired baby was staring at the ceiling, pointed towards the roof.
"Come on, Virgo! You need to sleep. It's already dark," Libra said as she picked up the child and placed her on her bed.
"Wah!"
"Yes, that's the ceiling. Now, go to sleep so you can play tomorrow."
Libra went off to take care of the other children, who behaved properly.
Virgo still looked at the ceiling, laying on her back on the bed with her other siblings who were sleeping soundly.
"Wa." muttered in the sleepy baby room.

A girl in a black sailor uniform was trotting on the decaying timber floor of the abandoned school building, seemly happy with her thoughts and not caring about her creepy surroundings.
Behind her was a young man, dressed in a white suit and distracted with writing on his notepad.
"Why are you following me, Mister?"
"Am I?"
"Yes."
"Didn't pay attention. I just wanted to take a look at the building."
"You know this is a dead school building."
"Yes."
"And you know it is cursed."
"....Cursed?" the man asked but still stuck his eyes on the notepad, "How so?"
"It is a simple story, a simple girl was bullied by her classmates and was ignored by her teachers. So, she simply killed them all and hanged herself as she felt there was no other place to belong."
"How simple."
"...'How simple'. What a strange response. You do realise mister...."
The girl's head snapped backwards, looking straight at the man. Her pupils enlarge and her still face begins to widen.
"...that yokais exist?"
"...Yeah, I know. I've seen you lot; cursed, broken, mangled, beyond repair. But you never nurture yourself, only wanting to cause grief of yours to others."
The girl's lower body snapped to face the man, the broken neck still can be seen with lacerations and bones sticking out. She still kept her distance and kept her abyssal black eyes staring at the man.
"YOU'LL NEVER KNOW OUR GRIEF!"
The rusty building shook with great intent, and the shadows curled and crawled. The door slowly opened to let out its captives as black handprints emerged on the wooden floors.
Yet, the man was unaffected and still wrote on his notepad.
"Let me tell you something little yokai."
"....WHAT?"
"Humans are afraid of everything. The dark, death and the unknown make them tremble in fear. But you are afraid of something as well."
"WHAT!"
"Gods."
The house constricted as a looming presence toppled their darkening atmosphere. An enormous aura lurked around and stirred like a shark circling its prey. The girl lost her presence and assumed a scared stance and the house froze, trying not to move.
A giant canine eye peered through broken stained windows, its jaws filled with saliva as he passed by.
"And you know what is above those Gods?"
"...."
"M̸̲̼̜̠̪͓̼̖̺̥̰̞̝̓̑̋͑͝ͅY̸̡͉̣̪̆͌̏̒͜ ̷̛̗̰̹̯̰̊A̷̦͇͉̜̤͚̮̱̝͖̫̲͇̓͆͋̉P̷̜͔̻͙̠͍̳̥̰̟̮͈͎̭̲̲̪̲̠͍͎̋͌͑̅͝͝Ợ̷̯͓̹̌̈́̆̒̍̈́͛̀̉̌̽͂̉͌͋͘Ç̷̛͚̟̝̠̬̭̗͎̞̹̬̺͕̬̠͐͑̎̀͂́̑̐̑͊̓͘Ą̴͙̥͉̪͉̦͍̲̥͎̗͓̣͚̲̫̪͖̞͂͒̓͆̈́͐̐͒̆͗̽͘͝L̴̡̨̜͉͖̙͖̪͎͖̙̘͔̘͉͉̃̈͐̈́̂̓̀̉̂̕̕͠Y̴̢̡͖̗̱̠͚̮̤̺̩͎̬͇̜͍͉̱̯̓͛͜͠ͅP̶̣̈́̽̒̔̌͋̌̒̕̕͠S̸̠̻̮̪̙̼̖̣̉̾ͅĔ̷̜̙̏͛̆̈̃̌͂̓̌͑̌̃̈̍̈́̅̋"
The looming aura struck, and its hungry jaws slammed down through the roof.
"WAI-"
CRUNCH!
The man stood outside the vacant lot, pieces of wooden foundation barely visible to indicate a building once stood there.
Chief finished writing his notebook and looked up, seeing T-Rex with a satisfied smile. He was using his paws to dig on the side of his mouth, trying to pick out any splinters.
"...I think you should go on a diet, that was a heavy meal."
"HUH, WHAT YOU MEAN?! I have you know I kept this same size and form for 1000 years. I couldn't be any healthier than this."
"I saw Great Danes fitter than this."
"Bullshit!"
