AN-->Early chapter today as well, i am going out tonight.

Also please read the announcement that would be released just after this chapter.

Adui had been working on the cube for a few days now, after completing the first two layers, he had come to a point where he had to get a little bit creative to work on the last layer.

After getting to this stage, he started working on a set of moves, an intuitive way to move the pieces of the last layer around, without actually scrambling the first two layers. Coming up with these moves was hard enough, the harder part was to keep up with how each move changes and affects the orientation of a particular piece.

He had found some moves which could change the places of 2 given pieces, but also could change their orientation as well. He had found some moves that changed the orientation of all the side pieces at the same time.

He had been struggling and working on these moves for a long time, but today something happened that gave him an idea. As he came back from the City Watch’s Tower, while rotating the doorknob of his door, he had an epiphany.

While rotating the doorknob, he got an idea of a move set that could change the place of centre-pieces of a layer, he already found the one from which he could change their orientation. Soon after, he was able to come up with a similar move set from which he was able to shift the corner pieces around, and already knew how to change the orientation of these pieces.

He realized that if he is smart about it, it would only take these 4 move sets to solve the whole cube. He just needs to apply them intuitively, so that everything falls right in place. He ran inside, got on his desk, took the cube from his spatial pouch, and started working on it. While working, he got so lost that he didn't notice the time fly by…

Wait a minute, is this it? He looked at the cube again. It was not solved yet, but all the pieces of the cube were in such an orientation, such that, it would only take one simple move set, and the cube would be solved.

He couldn't help but chuckle. He then instantly got up and raised his in the air, he had won, he had solved the cube, finally. This felt like a dream to him.

BAAAM

He slapped himself just to make sure this wasn't a dream. He got on his desk once more, he took the cube in his hands to check it one last time, he could have been wrong after all. But the results remained the same. He was just one move set away from solving the cube forever.

GURGLE

He looked down, his stomach was roaring, he was hungry. He smiled and then put down the cube back on the table.

With a spring in his step, he went to the kitchen, it was then he realized that he thought that the sun was about the set, he had wasted one whole day on that cube. But he didn't have one ounce of guilt, instead, he was happy.

He put up a pan on the stove, and started melting butter, he was about to reheat the steak from the morning. He put some garlic clove and some other herbs into melting butter. When the butter had reached a certain temperature, he brought his lovely steak from his dining table.

Nice and slow, he reheated the meat, soaking it in hot piping butter. Once again his house was filled with the delicious smell of steak. Although he was hungry, he took his sweet time in preparing it, because this steak was very special, it would not only ease his hunger but also would serve as a celebration dinner. So he wanted it to be perfect.

He had a fine bottle of wine, someone gifted it to Gizelle a few years ago, but he forgot to give it to her. He would have never heard the end of it if she would have realized that she received this gift after a 3-month delay, so he decided to keep it.

She wouldn't have cared about the bottle anyway, so he decided to keep it. Although, he was not a fan of drinking, but today was a special occasion, so for tonight’s sake, he would get drunk.

He lit up a nice scented candle in between the table, accompanied by a fine quartz glass filled with blood red wine, beside which was a plate full of delicious and juicy steak, this dinner was perfect.

While sitting, he looked at the empty chair beside him, which made his happiness fade away. He had no one to share his achievement with. His only friend didn't want to talk to him, and he didn't have any family. He was all alone.

After a moment of self-pity, he started eating. The juices inside the steak were still preserved and they squirted all over the plate as he cut himself a piece. He picked up the juicy piece with his fork and was about to eat it. Finally.

It was then he felt a movement of mana from his left, he turned but saw nothing.

“A steak dinner? What the occasion?” Hearing a female voice from his right startled him, he fell from his chair and saw Patrica Ulaspas standing beside him. He recognized from the muscles she had, otherwise, he would have mistaken her for Sara.

“Milady!” he was surprised to see her in his house. It was then he felt mana moving behind his back, before he could turn around, someone kicked him from behind, making him fly towards the nearest wall, decimating his dining table in the process.

He broke his nose as he slammed into the wall, he could feel blood trickle down from his nose to his mouth, it stung like hell. He groaned while clutching his nose, it was then he felt a tug, someone grabbed his shirt and pulled him up. They then made him sit down on a chair.

He opened his eyes, to be greeted by Gizelle, she had a signature smirk on her face, probably she was the one that kicked him. Patrica showing off her iconic muscles-covered body, stood to the right, expressionlessly, staring down at him. It was then he heard heavy footsteps, it was coming from his study room, someone was there.

His heart skipped a beat when he heard that, the cube was in the room as well, lying on his table. If someone realizes what that cube is, then he is good as dead.

“You wanna give it ago?” Patrica asked Gizelle, She shook her head. “I don't wanna get my hands dirty with his blood” Patrica shrugged her shoulders. “Suit yourself.”

She then came and stood before him, before he could say something in his defense, Patricia landed very soft a punch to his stomach. From an outsider’s eyes, that punch may have not looked like much, it carried insane power. As it landed, he felt all of his innards being crushed simultaneously. He instantly started vomiting blood.

Before Patrica could another blow, Gizelle stepped forward and grabbed her hand. “WOAH WOAH! You are killing him! Kaisel specifically said that we are only allowed to torture him not kill him.” Patrica groaned, but she knew, Gizelle was probably right.

She took a step back. “Alright then, limbs it is,” Partica said while sighing.

Adui, on the other hand, was not well, he was having trouble breathing, the pain was getting worse with every passing moment, he was about to pass out. It was then he felt someone grabbing his mouth, and soon a cheery liquid was forcefully fed to him. It was a healing potion.

The magical properties of the potion started healing his internal injury, he felt warmth spreading throughout his stomach, the pain also started easing up, his eyelids felt very heavy, and he wanted to close and rest for the moment. Slowly, he closed them up, his breaths became softer…

CRACK

He opened his eyes wide, he wanted to scream, but surprisingly no noise came out of his throat. He looked down and saw his left hand’s pinky finger missing. He could see the bone protruding out of his hand, his freshly cut flesh was squirting out an endless stream of blood. He tried to move, but he could not, even though he was not tied up, he couldn't move, some power was holding him back.

Tears started rolling out of his eyes, he wanted to stop them, he wanted to beg them, convince them to spare him, but he could speak. He moved his head around wildly as it was the only thing he could move at that time.

Gizelle kept smiling, seeing him struggle, she was enjoying every moment of his torture.  It is then Patrica took the pestle from his kitchen counter. It was a very heavy and dense pestle that he uses to grind herbs.

Without any warning, she slammed that pestle on his ring finger.

BAAAAM, BAAAAM, BAAAAM, BAAAAM, BAAAAM

Like hammering a nail on the wall, she kept hammering his finger, she only stopped when she had grinded his bone and flesh together. He was in so much pain, that he started having deja vu, the visions and the memory of Gloria’s torture came rushing back, he was so terrified that he even soiled his pants.

He closed his eyes, trying to remember good memories, trying to distract himself. “This might help.” He heard Gizelle’s voice, but he didn't open his eyes, he didn't care. It was then he breathed in some sort of powder. His senses started working on overdrive, his pain intensified, he started noticing every single detail of the room, it is then he realized what Gizelle had given him.

Patrica, who was still holding a pestle, bloomed a sly smile on her face. She raised her hand in the air and slammed the damn thing on his right hand.

BAAAAM

Just like before, she started hammering his right hand. This time she didn't stop after crushing one finger, she went on to grind his whole right hand. The drug that they had given him made everything too intense for him, she couldn't waste such an opportunity, so she took her time and started grinding.

***

When Kaisel entered the room, he was assaulted by a very unpleasant smell. It was a mixture of urine, feces, blood, and sweat, which had spread throughout the room. In the middle of it was Drac, lying on a chair, barely conscious. While Patrica and Gizelle were chatting on the other side of the room, with a bottle of wine in their hand.

Drac was in bad condition, blood was dripping down from his mouth, his right hand was mostly blue and red, and it was badly bruised, while his left was fine except two of his fingers were missing. There were several cut wounds on his chest which were covered with the white stuff, probably salt.

Witnessing his condition he had to ask. “Did you guys kill him?”. They turned around and saw him standing there.

Gizelle stepped forward. “No. He is in pretty bad condition. But he would be he is stable”.

He sighed. “Did you guys didn't listen to a word that I said? I wanted to talk to him! Now you have broken him.” Kaisel said.

Patrica shrugged her shoulders. “You can still talk to him, all we need to do is to give him some more Viton.”

Kaisel raised his eyebrows, he looked at Drac again. “You gave him Viton while torturing him? Will he be able to talk?”

Gizelle then took a sip of wine and then continued. “Don't worry, he will be. And we have a seal on him as well, remember? We can get every information out of him.”

“Then prep him.”

“Sure it will take a minute.”

“I will be in the study room then.”

While the girls prepped Drac, he went to his study. He had previously roamed around his house, which was not very big, he came across a room with a lot of herbs, which surprised him, he didn't take Drac for a herbalist. When he got to the study room, he came across a very bizarre scene.

On the walls of the room were notes and pictures of a certain cube, which was lying confidently on his desk, with the spatial pouch that he had lent him. While the girls tortured him, he looked around the notes, after all, he had nothing better to do.

After looking around, he figured that the cube was some sort of puzzle box, that Drac had been trying to solve it. Based on the notes on these walls, he had been trying to solve it for a long time.

He inspected the cube, he saw that it was mostly solved. Only the last layer of the cube was unsolved. Before he gave it ago, he noticed that the house had become quiet. So he went to the kitchen to check on the girls.

Now as he was back, he wanted to try to solve the cube, Drac was about to die anyway, so he wouldn't mind that he touched his puzzle.

He tried twisting the cube to see how it worked. As he turned around the side of the cube, he thought about trying to sense how was this puzzle made. Because it didn't look like it was made of simple iron. But before he could do so, he heard Gizelle calling him.

“KAISEL! HE IS AWAKE!”

He grabbed the spatial pouch and the cube, and went back. It is time to end the chapter of Adui Hampshire from their life. Gizelle’s informants had informed them that the Royal Order knows about the Ulaspas family, someone betrayed them, and there was only one person that knew about that information. Now as the cat is out of the bag, they decided to kill the son of bitch that betrayed them.
