Chapter 45: CHAPTER 45: FIGHTING DARK HOWLAN

"Damn it! Who exactly is this guy?! His power is stronger than I thought!" 

 

Dark Howlan avoided a slash of sharp ice coming at him. It was manifested from the swing of Kairi's blade. He was surprised that the ice that didn't hit him turned into a lump of ice when it hit a house behind him. The ice spreads about five metres before it stops. This shows how much the ice power was.

 

"He's stronger than my natural ability!" Dark Howlan feels threatened by Kairi's power.

 

Then, he was startled by the manifestation of four large floating red stars made of crystal. They were moving while surrounding Kairi like a protective shield. Dark Howlan, who saw it, sweated a little. Comparing the two, he was at a disadvantage. After all, he doesn't know what more ability Kairi possessed.

 

"Who the hell are you?!"

 

There's no way someone with such powerful ability wasn't known. There should be a clue who the man in front of him was. But, he couldn't think of anyone other than… The leader of Bright Star, Kairi, who was still missing, from Syarantonia.

 

"It can't be him! He looks different!" Dark Howlan shook his head, denying it.

 

However, he actually was correct about Kairi's identity. Only, Kairi wasn't like he was before and Dark Howlan already saw how he looked three years ago. He refused to believe it because there were too many differences.

 

"I already told you that my name is Shiroi. You know, white is my favourite colour now. Truly, thanks for making this place very snowy. It's beautiful…" Kairi praised.

 

Dark Howlan swallowed. It seems Kairi already knew he was the one who made them.

 

"Dark Howlan, come, attack me. It can't be that you only have this one trick. Let us dance together in this beautiful scenery." Kairi said playfully.

 

"The heck?! Is this guy insane?!" Thought Dark Howlan.

 

"Go to hell and dance by yourself! Leave me alone! And where did you hide that kid?! Give him to me!" He snarled. 

 

He had enough playing with this person who wasn't his target and… Because he might not be able to win against Kairi.

 

As for Kairi, he folded his hand. "What do you want to do with the child? Kidnapping? It's wrong, you know."

 

"It's none of your business! Give. Me. The. Child!"

 

"No," Kairi shook his head.

 

Dark Howlan, who went mad, used an angry howling. Kairi whistles while watching an avalanche appear out of nowhere on top of him. He moved the four crystals to protect him. 

 

"Hah! Serve you right!" 

 

Dark Howlan snorted when his avalanche buried Kairi along with the village. He had flown to the sky when it happened. Then, he remembered that he still didn't know where Ini was hidden by Kairi.

 

"God damn it!" He got angry again.

 

"That stupid kid, he must have escaped when that crazy man let him go just now. That kid does have the invisibility power. Now, what should I do…?"

 

He went silent for a moment. Suddenly, the snowy surface below him cracked and then, a gigantic red flame came out of it. It spurt to the sky and Dark Howlan had to move back away from it because of its heat. The snow also melted instantly and slowly revealed the same crystal that was manifested by Kairi.

 

"Hey, we haven't finished talking yet," Kairi smirked.

 

His four crystal shields spread and positioned around him like before. Dark Howlan was flabbergasted and his eyes also twitched.

 

How can he defeat this maniac?!

 

Apparently, he underestimated the abilities that Kairi possessed.

 

"Tsk, tsk, Dark Howlan, I know a lot about you. And there's no way that you can defeat me that easily, you know." 

 

When Dark Howlan was contemplating finding where Ini was, he didn't realise that Kairi had entered his head and read all of his memories. This ability was the same as the ability that belongs to Aries and Dark Hartina.

 

Dark Howlan narrowed his eyes. "What do you know about me?"

 

He was sure Kairi was just saying empty words. The only one who knows about his past was only Dark Hartina. That's because he once fainted and gave Dark Hartina a chance to see everything that was in his memories.

 

Kairi sighed. He manifested a light green book about 8 centimetres thick. Surprisingly, Dark Howlan's name was written in black bold on the front cover of the book.

 

What kind of book is that? Dark Howlan felt something was wrong with the book. He saw Kairi open a few pages in a delighted mood.

 

Kairi had turned Dark Howlan memories that he saw into a book. It also forms into written stories.

 

"Let's see... My, how unlucky you are, Dark Howlan! You were cursed! And it caused your face to remain like a dog. At that time, you were only twelve years old?! Wow, I am surprised. And it's all because you angered a Goddess from Heaven named Visyilan. She cursed you for disturbing her relaxation time. Huh? I never thought a Goddess could be mad just from someone disturbing their time. Seems like I need to be careful if I meet one." 

 

Kairi then moved to another page. He didn't see Dark Howlan's expression that had turned from pale to surprise and then to gawk at him.

 

"Oh, here also says that, when you reach the age of eighteen, you are given the power of Dark Howlan which has now become your name. And after you receive the emblem power, you return to the place where Visyilan cursed you. So, you could break her curse on you by killing her. Heh! It's impossible to kill a Goddess, you know. Ah, it seems you lost against her and weren't able to restore your face anymore. Poor you…" 

 

Kairi shook his head. "I sympathise with you, Dark Howlan. What terrible things did you do in your past life to get retribution in this life?"

 

Dark Howlan's face had turned red from anger and embarrassment. He could have never thought a stranger would know his past. 

 

"That book really has my past written on it?! How can that be?!"

 

"Who are you?!" 

 

Dark Sethan dashes and assaults Kairi. He needs to get his hand on that book and destroy it. No one else should know about his past. Kairi closes the book and makes it disappear before he avoids Dark Howlan's attack.

"You want the book? Then, defeat me first, haha." Kairi chuckled.

 

"Grr! Die!" 

 

Dark Howlan was furious because the book was hidden by Kairi. He swings his weapon, the same one he had used when attacking Antonia before, on Kairi. But Kairi makes his shields to protect him and then pushes Dark Howlan away. While backing away, Dark Howlan once again howled and made a hail of sharp ice attacks on Kairi.

 

Kairi raises his shield once more, protecting him from the attack. Suddenly, Dark Howlan appeared close to him with his weapon moved to stab him from behind. 

 

Kairi smirked. "You are careless, Dark Howlan. Do you think my shields are just for protection? Then, you are wrong."

 

His eyes glowed. Shortly, his shields transform into a cage and capture Dark Howlan. Then, an electrical shock jolts Dark Howlan in it. Dark Howlan screamed in pain before he slumped to the ground without moving again. Smoke came out from his body.

 

"Shiroi! What have you done?!"

 

"Huh?"

 

Ziphoteninx appeared with Ini. Ini was holding him since he had become smaller and they were staying inside Kairi's bracelet mark before. They have watched the battle from a mirror that he manifested.

 

"What are you angry for? It's not like he was dead." Kairi rolled his eyes at him.

 

"My God, Shiroi… I'll give you one out of tenth marks for this. Are you trying to make him hate you even more?! He will loathe you and get revenge on you later. Why can't you fight him gently?" Ziphoteninx scowled.

 

Gently? Can fighting be used gently? Ini was confused. This bad guy had hurt all of his brothers. He deserves such an attack.

 

As for Kairi, when he thought about it, he could actually do that but… After remembering what Dark Howlan had done through his memories, he was a little angry. He might have accidentally used a powerful shock on Dark Howlan. Once he realised his mistake, he felt slight guilt. Though, It's not like he forgave Dark Howlan yet.

 

So, he shrugged. "Heh! I don't even care. He deserves to be punished because he had killed too many people in Syarantonia and other places. And, also for hurting his own 'family' members."

 

"Sigh… I know that but you forgot, Shiroi. He doesn't know anything as long as Revioryx doesn't show his true self. They have all been deceived by him."

 

Kairi's eyes narrowed after Ziphoteninx mentioned the real name and identity of Dark Revier, the king and leader of the Deorc Star's users.

 

"I know…" Kairi brushes his hair back while sighing.

 

"Now Dark Howlan has fainted, should we confine him in my dimension?"

 

Kairi's dimension has been made with the help of Ziphoteninx. All his stuff and gifts from both Ziphoteninx and Dark Kurumi these three years were also there. It has a large and wide capacity that even a castle can be put inside.

 

Ziphoteninx stared at Dark Howlan before he nodded. "It's best to do that. If he wakes up later, he might destroy your stuff."

 

Kairi smiled evilly. "If he really does that, I might make him eat chilli pepper until his lips and stomach hurt."

 

Ini shuddered while listening to Kairi's evil punishment. So, Ziphoteninx scolded Kairi again for making him scared.

 

Kairi looks guilty and smiles gently at Ini. "Sorry, Ini. I promised I won't do that."

 

But, I can do other sentences… 

 

He continued his words in his head and Ziphoteninx heard it too. Ziphoteninx shook his head at him, at a loss for Kairi's thinking.

 

After that, Kairi walked until he was near Dark Howlan. He moved his hand towards Dark Howlan but before he could confine him, Dark Howlan throw a gas bomb at him. Kairi's shield instantly protected him but the gas had spread all over. 

 

Ziphoteninx changed to a bigger size and flapped his wings, making the gas move away from him and Ini. Who knows what was in the gas so he had to ensure it didn't reach Ini.

 

"He escaped..." Kairi said after looking at the empty space around them.

 

Dark Howlan's aura also was gone.

 

"It seems he had used a power stone to open a portal door." Ziphoteninx can sense the use of power stone.

 

The power stone can be used for anything, even transferring people from the current location to another location.

 

Kairi also realised it. "Let it be then. We need to find a Gem first. Ini life is in danger if we elongate the time."

 

Ziphoteninx agreed and he disappeared. Kairi approaches Ini and holds him on his chest.

 

"Brother…?"

 

"Let's find Gem and your brothers, Ini."

 

Ini's eyes brightened. "Okay!"

 

"But, brother, are you alright? That bad guy, did he hurt you?" He turned worried next.

 

"Don't worry, Ini. I'm fine. He wasn't able to scratch me." Kairi replied while gently rubbing Ini's head.

 

"What happened to him…? Will he ambush us?" Ini's complexion went pale.

 

"No. He won't come back." Kairi shook his head.

 

He started walking towards the East with Ini. They need to get to Lanya City soon.
