Chapter 99: CHAPTER 99: PREPARATION

Everyone stared at him with eyes that slowly widened. Then, screams of 'what' or 'what the hell' were heard loudly in the room after a second had passed. The sound of falling and dragging of chairs also was heard, along with the screams.

 

Kairi just smiled at them. "But don't worry. Since Angelote had helped me remove the curse, I am fine now."

 

"Your Majesty, I think I disagree with you for following the rescue team," Auriga said to him.

 

"That's right, Your Majesty! Please don't leave!" Some others also beg him.

 

Kairi suddenly felt deja vu but it seems they were just worried about him. He sighed.

 

"I told you, don't worry about it. Even if I got into an accident and it kills me, your power emblem will no longer break anymore. That's because..." He turned his head to Aries softly.

 

"My queen is pregnant with my child and your next successor."

 

Another silent moment happened in the chamber. They were surprised that Aries was pregnant now. Even Aries herself was in a stupor. She slowly moved her hands to her stomach. She was startled by another hand being put on her. The hand belonged to Kairi and he was looking at her so happy.

 

"Wait a minute! Your Majesty, please don't joke around with your life!" Agi told him with a serious expression.

 

He disliked hearing such sentences. It was like Kairi would die and they were forced by him to protect his child.

 

"He's right! Please don't say this again." Rafiz stared at Kairi with anger.

 

Not just him, everyone there had the same expression. Kairi felt very comforted by their caring for his life. However, he still shows them a sad smile.

 

"I might not live more than five years." He told them slowly.

Everyone gasped at his honesty. Aries turned to him with a panicked disbelief expression.

 

"You said you can live longer!" She telepathy him in a heartbreaking voice.

 

"I'm sorry... I just feel that is how long I can live."

 

Rafiz grits his teeth hard. "Ziphoteninx, Kironinx!" He called in a shout.

 

Both wolves appeared above Kairi with calm expressions.

 

"To answer your silent question, yes, we have known this." Ziphoteninx didn't let Rafiz ask more and told them the truth.

 

"You, you guys keep silent about it all these times?! Why?!" Rafiz was truly upset and his body was trembling because of it.

 

"Please don't be angry, Rafiz. I am the one who didn't want anyone to know about it."

 

"Your Majesty... Why didn't you tell us earlier...?" Virgo had red eyes while holding his tears.

 

Their king or leader was going to die. Who wouldn't be sad about it?

 

Everyone from Bright Star users was looking at their king with a grievance. Some even began to sniff and sob.

 

Kairi faces them one by one. "I don't want to tell you yet until I find a solution to live. I predict I might have died in a year if the curse was still on me."

Aries nodded slowly with tears that escaped her eyes. Kairi gently wiped her tears and kissed her lips before he looked at them all again.

 

"My child will be your last chance to survive if things go wrong and I die before we can defeat Revioryx. Therefore, I hope that everyone here can protect my queen and my child with your lives. Can you do that?" Kairi asked them.

 

Everyone could no longer find a word to say and slowly nodded their heads to him.

 

"Thank you," Kairi said to them before his eyes turned sharp.

 

"Like I said, I might die or some of us too actually. Still, we decide our own destiny. I have no intention of dying early and I will not surrender to Revioryx without doing anything! All my powers will be used to defeat him! And this is my instruction to you too. Don't die! Even if you are incapacitated, don't give up! You have to believe in yourself more than anything. Don't die no matter what your condition is! Do you understand?!"

 

He doesn't want to see anyone die later. Everyone was surprised by his sentences. They finally could let go of their grievances for a moment and realise that Kairi cares about their life too. Some people slowly smiled and became more fired up by his words.

 

"Of course! Who wants to die? If the world has Revioryx no more, I'm willing to do whatever you ask, Your Majesty. Don't worry, not one of us would think of dying before we beat his ass." Dark Kage smirk.

 

"Truthfully, I hate you so much, Your Majesty. But since you are dying, I no longer feel any hatred toward you." Dark Howlan said his point.

 

Some glared at him, but his call to Kairi with some respect subsided their anger a little.

 

"What? I still wish Your Majesty lived longer, of course. I want Revioryx to die more than my hate for him."

 

Cetus stood up from his chair and looked at him.

 

"Heh! I agree with your last sentences. However, I truly don't like you..." He told him with narrowed eyes.

 

"I feel the same way." Dark Howlan glared at him.

 

He still had a grudge against this brat for locking him in the power of gravity before.

 

"Heh! You still can't beat me, Columba."

 

"Want to challenge me, Cetus? Let's see if you can win with the new power I have," Dark Howlan cracked his hands.

 

He has also got his real power from his real Stellar Spirit beast, Columba. This was all thanks to Kairi, who dumped him in front of a dark monster that ate his spirit beast. Luckily, he managed to defeat it and release Columba. By rescuing him, Columba gives his powers to Dark Howlan.

 

"Sigh... You two, before you start a match here, please wait until the meeting is over. Your Majesty, I think some of us need to release some steam. Is that okay?" Agi asked Kairi while stopping the argument between Cetus and Dark Howlan.

 

"Sure. Just make sure no one dies. Ziphoteninx, Kironinx, please keep an eye on them." 

 

Kairi gave his permission because he was sure they all couldn't bear anymore to sit together in this room.

 

"Okay," Ziphoteninx and Kironinx nodded.

 

"Aquarius, Pisces, Undria, please make sure they don't use their power excessively. I don't want you all to be tired in the next two days." Kairi was still considered to have them in good condition.

 

"Understood, Your Majesty!" The three replied to him.

 

Kairi understood their tension and Agi's suggestion truly was the best option for them. He could see everyone was glad to hear it. Some of them already seemed to have chosen their opponents.

 

"Oh, right. Don't you destroy this place either. Go fight outside Antonia or in the knight headquarters training arena. If I saw some property being damaged, I would punish you severely." He warned them.

 

A moment later, he sighed because some of them didn't seem to hear him anymore. Instead, they were checking their opponent's strength.

 

"All right, before you all disperse. Don't forget your main responsibility is to keep your queen safe. Besides, it's not just my queen you need to keep a lookout, Perseus and Lyra also need your attention."

 

"Huh?" Lyra doesn't understand why she was included in the protection.

 

Everyone looked at her, then at Kairi again with a question mark.

 

"Lyra, you haven't realised it yet? You're actually pregnant." Kairi announced.

 

Aquila and everyone were shocked to hear it.

 

"Eh, what?! Really, Lyra?!" Aquila turned to his wife in surprise.

 

He also felt a slight fear to be a father so suddenly but the fear turned to happiness. He finally had a child with his most loved one.

 

"How should I know… Your Majesty, I don't feel anything. How can you know I'm pregnant?" Lyra asked Kairi with a slight trembling.

 

She felt she was not ready to be a mother. In fact, she knew nothing like a mother would be. Kairi smiled at her and hugged Aries' side as he looked at her.

 

"It's the same way I know my queen is pregnant. I can feel a new life in her body and now your body too, Lyra. You may not realise it but now that you know... Aquila, I will give you a task to make sure they are always in a safe place. Your power is needed."

 

Aquila bowed to him. "I follow your order, Your Majesty."

 

He promises to keep them safe with his life on the line. Leo and Perseus looked at each other. Leo was relieved for Kairi's attention to his wife's safety too. Perseus who understood him pat his hand.

Everyone snapped their heads at Dark Ceilius who said it. The latter was confused.

 

Wasn't he right about this? Why is everyone looking at him like they want to beat him?

 

Kairi shook his head. Seems like Dark Ceilius still doesn't understand that having a new life means a new future for them.

 

"Okay, let's end our meeting now. Agi, Kage, Leo, Auriga, the four of you please stay. I want to speak with you." He told them.

 

Then, he looked at Aries by his side. "Aries, do you want to hear it?"

 

Aries nodded. She was Kairi's queen and if possible she wants to know all of his plans and discussions.

 

"Kage, we'll be waiting for you at the training arena," Dark Amilia said as she dragged Dark Ceilius' collar to follow her.

 

She heard everyone who wanted to fight each other would do it in the training arena. So, they must go there too. Dark Kage nodded his head and watched them leave.

 

"Sorry for taking your time," Kairi said to the four of them after everyone left.

 

"It's okay, Your Majesty," Auriga replied.

 

"What is it that Your Majesty wants to tell us?" Agi asked.

 

"Firstly, how's the seal box project going?" Kairi looked at him and Dark Kage.

 

"We still haven't managed to build one with a successful rate." Dark Kage sighed. "If only we had some kind of blueprint to make it more secure."

 

"Then, how about this one?"

 

Kairi makes something look like a chest box appear on the table.

 

"What is this, Your Majesty?" Dark Kage's eyes shone.

 

He could feel a strong power from it.

 

"It's a compartment to suck anything into it when it's open. It was given to me by Lisione. But there’s only one because it was a precious item."

 

When he awoke from his faint after the war, he was in a dilemma on how to capture Revioryx. The angels' power to bring Revioryx to Hell has failed twice already. It was impossible to do it again when Dark Chronos was beside Revioryx to protect him. Lisione and Andreit had come to visit him to discuss further about it. 

 

“Well, how about we seal them in a box?” Kairi suggested to them.

 

Both looked at each other.

 

“But what strong box can seal Revioryx?” Ziphoteninx asked.

 

“Erm… I might have one but it wasn’t that useful.” Lisione makes the same chest box appear and gives it to Kairi.

 

Kairi and Ziphoteninx were surprised to feel strong pressure from the box.

 

“I only have this. This box is a vacuum box. Err… I always throw things I don’t want in it.” Lisione smiled awkwardly.

 

“And it’s only one way in. Once sucked, nothing can get out anymore. The problem is… Revioryx has your power to teleport now. It would be troublesome to have him get out after he went in.”

 

“Wait, this is very useful!” Kairi has an idea after listening about the box.

 

“May I keep it with me? I’ll return it back to you soon.” He asked for permission.

 

Lisione chuckled. “Just have it. It’s not useful at all for me. But if it is useful for you, go ahead and take it.”

 

“Thank you, miss.” Kairi then told them his idea about it.

 

They were very surprised about his plan.

 

“You’re truly smart, Kairi. I am amazed you could think about such a plan.” Ziphoteninx praised him.

 

Andreit and Lisione nodded in agreement. Currently, Kairi had told Agi and Dark Kage to do what he had planned about creating such a box. But with a more complicated seal on it.

 

“You can study this box and make a lot of copies of it. I want to bring some with me when rescuing Tucana. Do you guys think you can do it?” Kairi asked them both.

 

“We will do our best. For now, we have tried our best to seal a way out and also not allow anyone to use their power in it. However, it still leaks out when we put an explosion inside. But, don’t worry, Your Majesty. We will study this box at once and think more about how to fix the leak.” Agi told him.

 

“Heh! We have one more day for us to practice! The two of us will make sure that the sealed box is made successfully! Leave it to the two of us!” Dark Kage has not given up after multiple failures.

 

He believed they would be successful soon.

 

"And, what do you need us to do, Your Majesty?" Leo asked about him and Auriga. 

 

There must be something else Kairi needed them for if he had asked them to stay.

 

"I'm sorry again for giving you two another important task. Actually, there's a problem and this is just in case it really happens." Kairi looked at them all seriously.

 

Aries and Agi swallowed their saliva.

 

"Let's say if I and the rescue team don't make it out of the dimension in the allotted time. I want you two to be the leaders for everyone."

 

His request surprised everyone.

 

"All right," Leo replied. He understood the situation.

 

"Your Majesty..." Agi and Auriga start to get a little anxious.

 

They all don't want that to happen but it was likely to happen if they overlook it.

 

"You two, make sure everyone calms down if it happens. I promise that we will come back as soon as possible. As told, times are different in every dimension. But! I promise we will do everything we can to return. Understand?"

 

“Yes, Your Majesty!”

 

"Good. Well, I don't want to delay the time you need. You can all disperse. Thank you for helping me all of you." Kairi appreciated their help.

 

They all except Aries bowed respectfully to him. Then, they leave the room. Now, only Kairi and Aries were alone in it.

 

Aries put her hands around her husband's shoulder. "Are you alright, my beloved?" 

 

She could see Kairi was upset about something. The latter was stunned for a moment because she called him by that sweet pronoun. He looked at her before holding her waist and gave a sad smile.

 

"I make them all worry and feel awful about it. Do you think they can forgive me, my love?" He told her the truth.

 

"Don't worry, they will forgive you. You’ve done well telling all of us about it." She smiled at him.

 

She was still sceptical about his short time to live. But, Kairi already told him before that he was dying. Now, she still has some time with him. She hugged him tight and whispered into his ear.

 

“I love you, Kairi and only you forever.”

 

Kiari slowly closed his eyes while listening to her sweet voice. He smiled and was relieved that he was with him. Wanting to forget his restless feelings, he lifted her onto his shoulder.

 

"Kairi?! What are you trying to do?!" Aries shouted with a small laugh. He patted Kairi's back.

 

Kairi also laughed. "You're too sexy when you call me, my beloved. Let me hear it again, please…?"

 

"Oh, you. Fine… My beloved, are you satisfied now?" Aries chuckled.

 

"Hm… Nope, I want you to hear it more. And… I’ll play with you all night for calling me that," Kairi smiled mischievously. 

 

He deliberately patted her lower bump and then rubbed it gently.

 

Aries let out a shriek of surprise and her face turned red instantly. To get revenge, she reaches out below and pinches Kairi's bump too. Kairi was startled and he even jumped a little from her comeback.

 

"Hey, it's not fair!" Kairi said playfully.

 

"What's unfair? You started first!" Aries replied and she hit Kairi's bump again.

 

"Heh! Get ready, my love. I won't let you out of the room today," Kairi smiled before removing them from the meeting chamber and appearing in their sleeping chamber.

 

“Wait, Kairi. We have important things to do tonight, right?” She reminded him after she was pushed onto the bed by him.

 

Kairi deliberately looked at his left wrist which had nothing on it but still said. “There’s still four hours before nighttime and another hour before we meet them all. So… We have a lot of time before that.” He smirks before he dives into her lips that want to talk some more.

 

She rolled her eyes at him before slowly hugging him. She soon lost her reason from his teasing.
