"Good morning, hoaaam...," The tired Boruto greeted his mother.

"The food isn't ready. You don't usually get up early." Hinata replied.

Boruto could only laugh at his mother's comment.

"Hehehe... I'll brush my teeth first."

Seeing himself in the mirror while brushing his teeth, Boruto felt bad. His eyes look red with eye bags.

"Ugly as hell!"

After rinsing his mouth, he turned to the dining table. His gaze watched the back of his mother who was cooking.

"Hima still asleep?" Ask Boruto.

"Yes. I'll wake her up when the food is ready."

"Okay! Hoammm..." Boruto replied while yawning.

"You don't seem to have slept well? Mom heard you scream a few times at night. You weren't playing games all night right?" Hinata asked attentively.

"No mom, I don't play games! I, I actually..." Boruto said doubtfully, "maybe, I have awakened the Byakugan!" He explained after thinking for a moment.

Hearing that, Hinata's hand that was chopping vegetables stopped. She turned towards her son.

"Byakugan? Really?"

"That's right, last night I looked in the mirror and for some reason I saw my right eye turn crystal clear." Said Boruto.

Hinata approached Boruto and looked into his eyes closely.

"Let's see. Try to direct your chakra towards the brain. If you really awaken the Byakugan, there should be a reaction." Hinata asked.

Boruto is a bit awkward. It's not like he didn't try this method last night. It's just that, nothing really happened when he did it.

"Towards the brain? I, I'll try."

After a while, nothing happened.

"How? Did you feel anything?" she asked.

"No, ma'am. I think it's just a fresh sensation in the head."

It was a common reaction if a Shinobi tried to channel chakra into the brain. A Shinobi who is hit by a Genjutsu or illusion usually has to shock their brain with chakra for a short amount of time.

Of course, if it was a high level Genjutsu, a Shinobi would feel as if he couldn't control the chakra in his body so he needed the help of a close friend to retrieve him.

Hearing her son, Hinata was a little unsure. Then, she activated her Byakugan to investigate.

"Try channel it again. This time Mother will use Byakugan."

Seeing his mother's eyes getting a little scary, Boruto hastily carried out her order.

"Mother, how?" Ask Boruto.

"This, this is a little weird. Once the chakra reaches your brain, it will be passed on to the eyes. However, only your left eye receives chakra. Your right eye doesn't. It's as if the chakra is cut off before touching it."

"This, this is similar to the symptoms of blindness. No! How can my son be blind? No. This is impossible!"

Hinata panicked after making her conclusion.

Boruto was actually afraid to hear that conclusion. However, seeing that his mother had lost herself, he hurriedly calmed her down while shaking his mother's shoulder.

"Mom, calm down! I'm fine. My right eye is still working normally." Refuted Boruto.

"Really? Your vision isn't blurry?"

"Yeah, it's fine. Same as always." This boy said firmly.

Boruto feels sorry for making his mother worry. If he had known this was going to happen, he should have kept quiet.

"No. Anyway, we can't take this lightly. Let's go to the hospital and see Aunt Sakura. She should be more understanding about your symptoms." Hinata worried.

Boruto wanted to say that he was fine, but seeing the smoke from the frying pan, he hastily shouted.

"Mother, the food got burned!"

"Ah...." Hinata rushed to extinguish the stove.

Seeing the burnt egg, she felt sad. She had no choice but to re-cook.

After dealing with that little incident, the dining table was now filled with three people.

"Boruto, don't forget what mom said earlier, later this afternoon we have to meet Aunt Sakura." Hinata said.

"Yes, yes, yes. Mother has said this ten times." Boruto complained.

"Hima come! Hima come!" Himawari screamed for attention. She repeated this action just like her mother.

"Yes, Hima. Mother will never leave you."

"Thanks for the food. I'll take a shower first, then I'll go to the academy library. Mom and Hima just wait at the hospital this afternoon." said Boruto who stood up and left the dining room.

"Brother, Hima is coming!"

"No, Hima. The library is not a place to play. You will be kicked out if you make a lot of noise." Boruto refused.

"Hima doesn't make noise! Bad brother! Uwaaah~" this little girl started to cry.

"Look, look. You're such a crybaby. How can you say you're quiet. Never mind, brother is going to take a bath!" Said Boruto who immediately left this little girl to be taken care of by his mother.

Academy Library

"Oh, Boruto? It is not the time for the academy to start a new school yet? Why are you here?"

A middle-aged man smiled warmly at Boruto. This man has brown skin and has a scratch scar on his face. The scar widened from right to left hitting his nose in the middle.

"Teacher Iruka, good morning! I'm here to look up some reference books." Answer Boruto.

"As expected of a Hokage's son. You didn't laze around on holiday and instead visited the library to study. Carry on, we teachers are looking forward to your bright future!" Iruka praised enthusiastically while patting his student's shoulder.

"Teacher praises too much. Wasn't my father also taught by you? Without your teachings my father might not be able to become Hokage. Hehehe!" Boruto smiles broadly flattering Iruka back even higher.

Hearing that, Iruka was slightly embarrassed and could only laugh to hide it.

"Hahaha! You're such a well-spoken child. Teacher didn't help your father much. At best, he only gave a little advice. All of his current achievements are due to your father's own hard work."

"In that case, Teacher won't bother you. Please come in! Teacher also has a meeting with the academy council."

Iruka left Boruto with a smile as bright as a father who was happy to hear the birth of his first child.

Boruto's face went blank again seeing Iruka leave.

"Predictable old man." he muttered under his breath.

Immediately, he entered the academy's library. The Konoha Academy Library has six floors. Each floor has a hierarchy of authority regarding who may enter it.

The first floor is open to the general public. Academy students who are still studying are also categorized as common people.

The second floor, meant for information related to genin levels. Most basic skill scrolls are also kept on this floor for Genin to study.

The third floor is the Chunin area.

The fourth floor is the Jounin area.

The fifth floor is the Elite Jounin area (usually concurrently serving as Anbu).

And the sixth floor is the Hokage Area.

From the third floor and above, every piece of information was branded as valuable, so Anbu guarded the entrances of each floor.

Boruto didn't bother to stay on the first floor. Even though he should still be categorized as a commoner, due to his achievements at the academy, Iruka's teacher as the Dean of the Academy gave him permission to enter the second floor.

Seeing the view of the second floor which was not as busy as the first floor, Boruto smiled happily.

He watched the genin who were between 14-18 years old. It's rare for a genin to be older than that. If anything, most of them weren't talented people and would usually choose to put off their headbands and live as normal people.

Several genins seem to know Boruto. Even though he has seen several faces, Boruto doesn't know who they are.

Boruto's circle of relationships is quite strange. In fact, he knows more people at the level of Jounin who are mostly related to his father than a boy his age.

For Boruto, there are very few people of the same age who have the same level of insight in communicating. In a class of his own, people with such criteria could be counted on one hand. Shikadai is one of them.

Boruto has no intention of getting to know these Genin even though they are considered seniors by age. His gaze instead turned to a girl in a red shirt and wearing the glasses who was seriously reading a book.

He approached the girl and muttered softly. "What a coincidence, Sarada."

The girl didn't budge and instead ignored him.

"If you don't have anything important, leave me alone." The slender figure girl replied coldly.

"Huh... You always hate me like this. I don't know when I wronged you?" Ask Boruto.

"There's nothing wrong. We're just fated to always face each other as opponents." The girl moved her glasses a little.

"Opponents? I never thought of you as my opponent." Said Boruto reluctantly.

Hearing the answer, Sarada, who was calm at first, frowned. He knew Boruto didn't mean to be arrogant, but looking at it from another perspective, couldn't it be interpreted that he, Sarada Uchiha, wasn't this yellow boy's opponent at all?

"If you won't go, I will." Her cold tone deepened.

"Wait, it's not that I don't want to go, but I also need the book you're reading." Said Boruto quickly.

It's not a lie. The reason Boruto wanted to visit the library was to find information about the change in his eyes last night. As he glanced at Sarada earlier, he also noticed that the title of the book Sarada was reading was 'Introduction to Mainstream Clan Doujutsu'.

Since Boruto thought he awakened the Byakugan which was inherited from his mother's Hyuga Clan, he thought the book must have the information he wanted.

The reason why he didn't want to specifically ask his mother or relatives, was because he still had doubts about the owner of that mysterious voice.

If his mother or relatives asked for the details of what happened, he himself wasn't sure how to explain it. Moreover, he was worried that his mother would be too anxious. No children want to see their mother sad.

"Books? Then wait for me to finish." Sarada sat back quietly as if nothing had happened.

Boruto frowned. He couldn't just wait for Sarada to finish. This girl somehow started hating him ever since the academy year started. He was more certain this girl would play tricks and not finish reading until he got bored and left.

He decided to look for a similar book on the library shelf. Hopefully there'd be any. If not, he would be forced to use his hidden card.
