"The device…he can't see Jeffery like this!" Aylin shouted.

She jumped to and fro and side to side in worry. The whole thing was becoming bigger after waking up beside Lian to hop out of bed and running to Reaper as soon as her eyes popped open.

"What is the matter, Aylin?" Reaper asked.

"Call Lady Spider!" Aylin demanded.

"What is your hurry?"

He placed his tea down on the small table sitting next to him. Reaper only smiled watching the shocked expression on her face.

"Prince Jeffery isn't going to help us with that crooked thing mounted on him!" Aylin argued.

"He is already scheduled today to get care." Reaper explained.

"I see…thank you."

"Aylin, you really woke up to tell me this?" Reaper cackled.

"I-I did…"

"Prince Jeffery is a kind soul and would understand, but you are right."

Lian came out yawning. Lily hung to her brother coming out to see Reaper and Aylin staring back at them.

"Lian, are you hungry?" Reaper asked.

He didn't realize till his stomach was growling. The smell of food could be smelt from the kitchen. To him, it felt surreal to live in a funeral parlor.

The place was practically empty. Lily looked up happily at Reaper. Aylin helped Lian sit down as pain from the device since yesterday started causing chronic pain making him question whether what had actually happened to him was real or not.

Groggily he sat his head down waiting. Aylin sat beside him watching Lily run to the galley greeting Nour and Nina who were cooking together.

"Good morning, Lily!" Nina smiled.

"Morning, Nina, Nour!" She shouted.

"Excited your brother is back?" Nour asked.

"I am, but he looks so exhausted."

"You would too after such an ordeal," Nina noted.

"Anyways what are you making?" Lily questioned.

"Pancakes!" Nour yelled.

She started to bounce up and down. Lily was happy to be in this new home despite how coffins sat around just about everywhere. Floral arrangements, flags, gifts, and money always flying around this morbid home.

Lily was curious but seemed to know this place even though she had lived with her brother and mother for the longest part of her life.

"Breakfast is ready, Lily!" Nour shouted.

They all gather to eat. Aylin had to knock Lian awake just to even move an inch to make room for his plate. He was dazed before noticing the syrup bottled in front of him.

"Too late!" Reaper laughed.

Swiping the maple from his grip with his spindly hands and arms. Lian grabbed back shortly after to dowse his morning meal in the sticky stuff only to be taken by Aylin afterward and passed to Nour next.

"These are really good! Mom used to burn them…" Lian said.

"We often have to cater so we had to take courses," Nina explained.

"I have never been to a funeral," Lian answered.

"Basically meals settle an empty heart," Nour replied.

"Do you have grieving people come often?" Lian questioned.

"We do...poor things," Reaper stated.

"You will learn to eventually take it over, but for now Reaper seems to enjoy it." Nina smiled.

A knock on the door sends Aylin away to check. She was animated and excited greeting the new guest dressed in a grey pressed suit.

"Reaper, I come on your orders." He said.

"Ahh yes! We're finishing here!" Reaper shouted.

He went to meet the man at the door. Setting his large bag down you could hear the tools shift in his bag catching Lian's attention.

"You must be the boy?" He smiled.

"Lian, this is Karson," Reaper said.

"Good to meet you?" Lian replied.

"I will be working on removing that item before you meet the prince this week. I am here to do it smoothly as possible, but I can't promise you won't be using a cane."

"Alright?"

"Are you scared?" Karson asked.

"Maybe a little?"

Picking up the bag he strolled over to Lian placing his arms around his shoulders. He had just gotten done with his meal gazing into the eyes of the man who seems to also work here or so he thought.

"Let's go into the room for full examinations."

Nervously he slipped off. Aylin trailed behind till a large hand was placed on her face. Puffing her cheeks she braced herself angrily at the man.

"What was that for?" Aylin shouted.

"Give your master some privacy," Karson demanded.

She stomped away back to the seat to take Lian's plate. Saying nothing else to anyone else in the room she washed and dried and placed the dishes away.

"Being protective isn't going to help him, Aylin." Reaper laughed.

"I am not losing him again!" She spouted.

"Karson has been here ages. Have you forgotten him?" Reaper questioned.

Aylin had recently been rebirthed despite remembering Reaper people like Karson hardly are people she could fully recall.

"No…I can't remember a lot." Aylin admitted.

"I see. Take your time to grow with Lian."

With that said he gets up after a small look at his wristwatch taking off. He stopped at the door shortly to turn his gaze towards her.

"Yes?" Aylin said.

"Do you like the wee prince?" Reaper asked.

She crossed her arms pausing. The question was simple to answer yet she was fully against the thought of giving him the satisfaction.

"Absolutely not!" She yelled.

"You aren't a good liar, but I will take your word for it."

"Says you!"

Aylin took her time to walk back to the door. Pressing her against it listening in as she could hear the ting of instruments being laid out. Lian's grunting could be heard making her wonder what he was doing.

Heavily sighing to herself she slid down to her knees staring at the blank wall ahead of her. The house was busy from incoming deaths being sent to deal with. For a house of soothing, it only brought her anxiety.

"Don't fall asleep…don't sleep…"

Saying it over and over again till her head hung backward heavily at the ceiling. Falling to her side she finally gives in to sleep.
