Chapter 5: Chapter-4

<General POV>

On the outskirts of the Imperial City,
there lies the remains of an ancient colosseum. This colosseum is is
revered as one of the most sacred place in The Empire.

This colosseum has said to be the place where 'Gods' fought each other to gain fame among themselves.

Now, this place is used by the humans as a sacred place where all the chosen
talented children from across The Empire are given chance once every 3
years to gain their status here, because there is a chance that these
children can receive the grace of a god(blessing). And they will become
the greatest assets of The Empire.

Today, there are around 2000 people gathered here to see the ceremony with their own eyes.

Right now, 81 of the 84 children participating in the ceremony has arrived.
They are standing on the lush green grass of the colosseum. The sun has
settled, the stars are visible. Now people are just waiting for the last
3 children to arrive. Their distress is visible and whispers are
starting to arise

"Hey, why is the ceremony still not starting"

"Don't you know, the children of the first hero Hope have still not arrived"

"Huh!?"

"What? Really!?"

The nobles were also getting impatient by now

"Hey! there are only 3 minutes left for the ceremony to start, where is the Lionheart family's candidates?"

"What did you expect? They were originally commoners, some habits run through blood"

From the top of the colosseum, two individuals are looking down at the
people, a man with a large build, blond hair and golden eyes, who was in
luxurious clothes spoke to the man in the shiny armour of the Captain
of the Imperial Knights, with red fiery hair and eyes like Alice

"The people are making a ruckus. Where are your candidates, Hope?"

This voice was of the Empror, Leon, as he was asking Hope

"I-I think they are on their way, please wait some more, Your highness"

"Hope, as your former comrade and friend, I can only postpone the ceremony
till here. Now, if your children don't come, we will have to start this
ceremony without them"

'Hah.... where are you, Ray, please come faster' Hope thought, at the same time someone in the crowd shouted

"Hey, it's them! The members of the Lionheart family are here!!"

"Oh!? They've arrived at last"

At the same time, Hope sighed a breath of relief

*Whewww*

"Well, now that everybody has arrived, let's start the ceremony" Leon said to
Hope, to which in nodded. Then, he stood up from his seat and started
announcing

"TO ALL THE PEOPLE GATHERED HERE. I, THE EMPROR OF THE
EMPIRE OF ENCELADUS, TODAY, WOULD LIKE TO ANNOUNCE THE START OF THE 67TH
CEREMONY OF REVEIVING SKILLS. HERE, THE MOST TALENTED CHILDREN OF THE
EMPIRE HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO RECEIVE THEIR SKILL IN THE GRACE OF THE GODS.
MAY THEY RECEIVE THE BLESSINGS OF THE GODS AND SERVE THEIR PURPOSE OF
BRINGING PROSPERITY TO THEIR RACE, THE EMPIRE"

Loud cheers started restounding in the colosseum with people shouting

"LONG LIVE THE EMPROR, LONG LIVE THE EMPIRE"

"MAY THE YOUNG ONES BRING PROSPERITY TO OUR RACE"

In the midst of these loud cheers, some children were in awe and while others were mesmerized in the heat of the moment.

While there was one group of children talking to each other, without minding the cheers.

<Ray's POV>

As we entered the colosseum ground, the Empror started his speech, I could
see my father's relived face, who was standing behind him. It seems we
were really very late.

Drake had woken up while we were on the
way, so I didn't had to carry him. Then, while I was roaming in the
colosseum, I saw three children who were standing out more than the
others. And they were, of course, the successors of the other heros, Alice, Shin and Romantica.

Romantica, with blond hair and golden eyes like her father, she have a strong
sense of justice and have exceptional talent in sword and magic. She is
the same age as me, but to make it up to her level of when she had first
time held a sword, I had to do weeks of hard training, she came to me
and said

"Ray, are you alright? You arrived so late... was their a problem?" She asked innocently

"It was alright, I was in the library and got a little late"I said, while a third voice joined the conversation

"You were still holed up in your library!! You should at least meet up with your friends once in a while"

This voice was of Jin, as he was coming to meet up with us. And if you look
at him carefully, you can see someone clinging to him from behind. It
was Alice. Jin have brown hair and sharp eyes. His stature was tall for a
5 year old which was a sign for a good body that can handle any weapon.
While Alice have pure Silver hair and light pink eyes.

"Alright. I accept. I'm sorry....from now on I will come to meet up with you all whenever I have time"

"Now that's good" Romantica rejoyed

"You better not forget this" Jin warned me, while Alice only nodded from
behind him. She was kind of shy and always clinged to Jin.

So now, the ceremony started

As the ceremony started, everyone went silent. The enthusiasm and loud
cheers were now like they had disappeared. And now, the moon came
directly above their heads, illuminating everyone's face with its light.

Suddenly, the grass in the colosseum started glowing with a light silverish
light, and with the grass, the children also started enveloping in a
faint silver light. Now, everyone's breath stopped, as they stared
intently on the children, hoping to find a big talent.

And then, one by one, blue screens started appearing over the heads of the children

I saw everything with wonder. It was like I was in a dream. Everyone
glowing faintly and then the screens started appearing over their heads.

Then, someone shouted,"HEY, SEE THIS!! HE GOT AN 'A' GRADE SKILL"

"SEE HERE, THIS CHILD GOT A 'B' GRADE SKILL"

Everyone's eyes went up in disbelief. Because, while C rank skills were common,
getting B and A rank skill was rare, and here, every children either got
a B rank Skill or higher. So then, everybody's eyes went on the 6 most
talented children, the successors of the heros, because seeing the
situation, it was highly likely for them to gain some overpowered Skill
like their parents.

I was very excited with the atmosphere. And
then, the first one to get her status screen was Silvia. Her status was
was glowing Golden, unlike the normal colour Blue. Then, some one
shouted in disbelief

"TH....TH-THE GOLDEN STATUS SCREEN...I-IT IS A MARK OF A PERSON BLESSED BY A GOD!!!"

Now everyone's eyes were fixated on Silvia who was also in a daze. As her status screen was showing

Race = High Human

Age = 6 year old

Class = Disaster Mage

Skill =  Ancient Spell Master

Skill rank = SS-

System rank = E

Blessing
= Blessing of Magi - You are blessed by Magi, the 'Ancient' of  Magic
spells, you can Master all elements, desipher any magic circle and
ancient language under this blessing.

Now everyone was dumbfounded, because not only had she inherited the Skill of her predecessor, her mother Stella, she had also got the blessing of a God
other than Lyra, which was unheard of. And her system rank was 'E' where
everyone had to start from rank 'F'. Now, everyone came out of their
daze and realised what happened, they started shouting

Everyone was paniking, while I was looking at Silvia, who also realised what had
happened, and now was standing arrogantly, she said

"See...see, I knew I was a prodigy. Hmph"

And there she goes, her fuse has blown up.

But this had just started, another Golden screen appeared, and everyone
stopped in their tracks. The person who was in question, was no other
than Princess Romantica, her status showed

Name = Romantica Cloven

Race = High Human

Age = 5 year old

Class = Ruler

Skill = War Empress

Skill rank = SS-

System rank = E

Blessing
= Blessing of the Arnos - You are blessed by the 'Ancient' of War,
under his blessing, you can use any sword style and Master Aura Arts

If everyone was paniking before, now they were deathly silent, because now
they were sure that there are gonna be more people with exceptional
potential and are getting ready. So then, the third Golden screen
appeared, now over Jin

Name = Jin Foster (5 year old)

Race = High Human

Class = Warhammer

Skill = Weapon Master

Skill rank = S

System rank = E

Blessing
= Blessing of Dollar - You are blessed by the'Ancient' of Strength, you
can gain power by defeating people in a combat challenge

The next person to get the Golden Screen was Alice

Name = Alice Lightwood(5 year old)

Race = High Human

Class = Moonshine Priestess

Skill = Godess's Tears

Skill rank = SS-

System rank = E

Blessing
= The chosen one of Lyra - You are chosen to be the apostle of the
'Ancient' Lyra, the War Priestess. You have excess to unlimited mana,
and your tears can Heal a person at death's door or can take the person
to their Death

Everyone was stunned, and now had their eyes on only two children. It was clear now that 5 heros, with greater potential than their predecessors gonna appear, and only two children were left, so, who is gonna be it. The oldest
son, Ray, or the young crybaby, Drake, it was clear that Ray should be
the one with the blessing, who was more worthy. So now, everyone waited on their wits end.
And then, a Golden screen shined, but not above Ray. It was above Drake,
stating

Name = Drake Lionheart (4 year old)

Race = High Human

Class = Hero of Ages

Skill = Hero's Journey

Skill rank = SS+

System rank = E(+)

Blessing
= Blessing of Arcana - You are blessed by the world. For you can learn
every Combat style and Magic. Command over Mana. You are the Hero that
appear in ages

..........Everybody became a doodle.

Something that no one expected had happened. There potential was already
above the previous heros. The Empror and First Hero were also stunned enough
that they lost their composure for the first time in a long time. Drake had received the skill rank that has never been received by anyone in the Human history!

people started yelling

"THIS IS IIIIIITTTT!!!!! THE GODS HAVE BLESSED US!!!"

"""ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY GODS!!! ALL HAIL TO THE YOUNG HEROS!!!"""

The children were stunned but excited at the same time on seeing their own potential!!

"Oh!!! Is this real!?" Romantica cried while pinching her cheek

"HELL YEAHHHH" shouted Jin

"Awawaa...UAAAA.." Alice cried in joy

"........." Drake was silent, I think the atmosphere and information overwhelmed him

After
every screen disappeared. A single blue skin was shown in the dark.
While it gathered everyone's attention. It was above the head of the
successor of Lionheart family, Ray, I mean me.

I think it is quite unfortunate to not get a blessing while all your peers had one, but I
didn't got depressed over that. Because I had half-expected this myself. I know that Blessing isn't a free social service given by God's, it is
given to the people who are worthy. I think I'm not one of those, but
at least, I want an 'A' rank skill to keep my family's, no, my family
already got two legendary Blessed people, my reputation. So, brimming
with hope and confidence I looked at my status screen, and this is what
it is showing

Name = Ray Lionheart(5 year old)

Race = High Human

Class = -

Skill = Mind Reader

Skill rank = C

System rank = G

This time also everyone was dumbfounded, they didn't expect this to happen.
They expected Ray to get a Blessing, and if not, he should have at least
an 'A' rank skill. And after watching his status for a while. Everybody
had the same feeling, even the Empror and the First Hero.
Disappointment.

But right now, my brain is screaming just one word

'FUCK'
