The ocean breeze is making him drowsy and he is becoming bored as he sits on the sand watching Jess, who is sitting in the distance unmoving. Her eyes were still glued to the horizon.

Despite his desire to make his presence known to her, it seems that she badly needed this moment of solitude in her thoughts.

Hence, he decided to sit here even though his ass was already numb from sitting for so long.

Ellise just replied to his message, saying she would talk to Jess about the flower threat. He decided to call it a flower threat to make it sounds less threatening.

Jess finally moved from her position. He thought she would finally get up, instead, she lay down on the sand and draped her left arm over her eyes while her right arm was put under her head.

'Is she thinking of sleeping in this desolate place?' If he didn't find her, and he didn't know that someone was after her. Where she is now, and what she is doing, is asking for trouble!

Her current situation is basically screaming, 'Here I am! Take me!' -- to whoever is trying to hurt her.

He wished he could lay down on the sand too, but he was afraid of falling asleep and having her taken away if he closed his eyes for even a minute.

The whisper of the ocean waves was lulling her to sleep as she grew tired of staring at the distance. She dropped her back on the sand and draped her arm over her eyes to shield them from the brightness of the afternoon sun.

When she closed her eyes and focus on the gentle sounds of the ocean lapping the shores, her heart found a peace she hasn't felt for a long time.

The ocean truly feels like home. The reason Noah always feels like home. He reminds her of the ocean view she has in her bedroom back home with his amazing blue eyes.

But was that the only reason why she was drawn to Noah like a moth to a flame?

She knew there were at least ten students in her university who had blue eyes, but she was quite sure none of them could evoke the emotion that rises up from Noah's eyes and scent.

A shadow of a smile tugged the corner of her mouth, 'Noah's scent'. She felt her cheeks heating up, but not from the sun, rather from a memory of how she had this strange taste of Noah in her mouth the moment she saw him again.

How peculiar! She wasn't even sure how her brain recognized it as Noah's taste. She scoffed with the memory that flashed through her mind.

She couldn't help but blush when she remembered how she had a taste of Noah that night.

That night she met a side of her she had not known existed.

Warmth rushed up to her spine from the soles of her feet. She shivered at the memory of how she was subjected to Noah's desire.

She is sexually attracted to Noah that's for sure. She didn't need sexual experience from another man to know that much.

She felt yearnings she never knew she had in her body and soul after meeting Noah.

She sighed loudly. "Jessica Joy, you don't simply live this word with desires. You are not an animal."

Luke, watching her from a distance, creased his eyebrows as he squinted his eyes on her, who was talking to herself.

He didn't catch clearly what she said because he was startled by the shrill tone from his phone. He stood up from the sand, darting his eyes left and right like a criminal caught red-handed.

He scanned his surroundings and there was no place to hide. The coconut tree he is leaning against is not big enough to hide him from Jess who is looking at him in confusion.

He swatted his numb butt to shake off the sand that clung to his shorts and grinned awkwardly at Jess as he waved his hand like a candidate to some beauty contest.

"Hi there, Little Miss Jessie," he kept grinning, praying that she wouldn't kill him. "Hello, Ellise," he said on the phone.

She was jolted from her thoughts when the silence of the place was broken by a familiar ringtone. She rolled over to her side and glanced up to where the ringing was and saw Luke waving at her from a distance.

He was grinning stupidly with his phone pressed to his ear. From where she's at, she heard him said Ellise's name.

As she got up, she didn't bother to wipe the sand off her skin. The sand was all over her body anyway. Also, her butt and her back were wet from lying on her back in the wet sand.

She approached Luke slowly, noticing his strange expression as he listened to the other person on the line, but his eyes were fixed on her. What is happening, she asked herself inwardly.

As soon as she reached him, she asked him, "Was that Ellise?"

He just nodded to answer her question, but his full attention was still on the phone.

Her eyebrows began to crease as she wondered why Luke hadn't announced his presence and how long he had been here.

"Got it. We are going back to the villa now." he glanced at Jess and extended his hand. Jess, with her confused expression, took the hand he offered and let him pull her back in the direction of their villa.

"Yes, we are walking back now to the villa… yes...okay… I got it."

Jess has to jog to keep up with Luke's long strides. His shoulder was rigid while he kept on glancing around them.

"Slow down!" She yelled because she feels like if she doesn't, Luke won't pay attention to her. He was on high alert about their surroundings.

"What is happening?" she asked when he finally met her eyes.

"We need to get back to our villa right now!"
