The taxi driver took the lane for vehicles going to the bridge and with the three cars in between his taxi and the red sports car, he was able to bait his tail that he was going to take the bridge. But he swerved to the left just as he approached the bridge, turned left into a small road, took a roundabout, and traveled back in the same direction they had come.

The driver of the red sports car realized it too late. He was already on the bridge and there was no way to make a u-turn!

Noah cursed out loud when he realized what happened. And the message he received from Antonio about Luke's home address, didn't help to restrain his anger

Luke still hasn't updated his file on HR. His address was still Jess's apartment.

He drove the length of the bridge, cursing under his breath then he decided to go back to the office to make himself productive and to stop himself from going insane.

He only has two choices, go back to the office and work or go home and loiter in front of Jess's apartment. The latter one was a terrible idea.

"That was fun," Sebastian complimented his driver.

"Worth all the money you pay, I hope." he laughed.

He smiled at the driver in the rearview mirror. "Yes, since you got all my cash now."

The taxi driver was still on high with their success when Sebastian received another call from the same number that called him a while ago.

The caller begged him to hurry up because Jess was so drunk that she turned the lounge bar into a disco bar, where she used one of the tables as a dance floor.

After driving for another twenty minutes, the driver dropped him off in one of the modern buildings in a downtown area.

"Here you are. The bar you are looking for is on the top floor of that building," the taxi driver said as he stopped on the curb.

Sebastian got out of the taxi and thanked the driver.

He entered the building and was asked to provide an ID before he was allowed to use one of the elevators in the building lobby to go up to the lounge bar named RoofTop.

He clicked his tongue. "RoofTop," he said, chuckling by himself as he pushed the elevator button to the rooftop.

When he arrived at the top floor, there was a bouncer standing guard right outside the elevator. He was patted down like he was at an airport before he was given permission to enter the lounge bar.

Right as he entered the door, the first thing he saw was his daughter dancing provocatively on top of a table.

His protective instincts kicked in. He scanned the room and exhaled a sigh of relief when he saw that other than his daughter, dancing without a care in the world to the music floating the bar, there were only two other people in the room.

The bartender and the man that he first saw at Jess's apartment.

Before he could approach his daughter and pull her down from the table, the man that he saw in Jess' house came to him and introduced himself.

"So, Luke… can you tell me what happened here?" He cocked his head to his daughter that still hasn't noticed his presence.

"I think you should ask Jess about it." he smiled as he gazed longingly at his face. 'He looks so hot,' he thought to himself.

"Sadly, my daughter never told me anything." He chuckled with the knowledge that this friend of his daughter is thirsty over him. Amused, he shook his head.

"Maybe, she will talk now that she is drunk," he smiled. He was also buzzed with alcohol, and he was using that as an excuse to ogle at this beautiful man that is Jess's father.

He remembered that Jess told him that she has a lot of half-sisters because her father had a lot of kids with different women.

He couldn't blame those women. He has no ovary but he wished this man could impregnate him. He blushed at what his horny thoughts brought him.

"Ugh," he cleared his throat. "I will be over there," he pointed to a table at the far end of the room, "you can have a moment with Jess."

Sebastian curled the corner of his lips into a gorgeous smirk, "Why do you think I need a moment with my drunk daughter?"

"Because -- daddy," he fluttered his lashes on him, "I think your own daughter won't give you the time of the day if she isn't drunk. I mean, she made sure to go home late to avoid having a conversation with you."

"You are my daughter's friend -- and I can see a good one, but why are you telling me this? Shouldn't you be on Jess's side?"

Luke stepped forward and boldly grazed Sebastian's jawline with his finger. "I am on Jess's side, thus, I want her to stop hurting." He stepped closer and put his hand on his arm, "You have a very nice body, Mr. Zimmerman," he grinned. "I hope you… and Jess can fix your issues. I want to make you… and Jess happy."

He chuckled. "Well, that was a bold wish, Luke. Can I call you Luke?"

"Oh, shit! You can call me anything you want to call me, daddy, er, sir."

A big smile spread across Sebastian's face and a dry chuckle escaped his lips.

Luke stepped back and bit his lower lip. "Too bad you are Jess's daddy." He winked at Sebastian before he turned around and hastily left as though a demon was after him.

Sebastian watched Luke retreat to one of the round couches at the far end of the room, then turned his gaze to his daughter, who finally noticed his presence.

She was grinning like a naughty child on top of the table.

"Jessica Joy Zimmerman," he called her full-given name.

"Hello, Papa!"

She called him, smiling happily. His heart constricted in his chest. He forgot the last time Jess smiled at him with her 'happy smile'.

She used to be such a goofy child back then. But, when she hit puberty, his once cheerful daughter turned into a sullen teenager, and she never went back to that cheerful kid she used to be.

Or maybe, she still is, but just not with him.

"Care to come down?"

"Only if you dance with me."

"If you ask nicely, I will, yes," he chuckled.

He watched her get off the table and ran to his arms. When Jess's head hit his chest, he felt his knees buckled, and he felt like weeping. He embraced her in his arms as tightly as he could.

He wanted to tell her, he loves and misses her but he doesn't want her to shy away from him. He should thank Luke for calling him, and the alcohol that made Jess drunk and temporarily made her forget that she hated him.

She wiggled inside his arms when she realized he was holding her so tightly.

"Papa, let's dance to our song," she giggled.

"So if you're lonely, you know I'm here waiting for you…" he sang the first two lines of their favorite song.

Jess threw into a fit of giggles when she heard him sing. The song that was playing in a speaker somewhere was a slow song, but Jess started to turn in a circle, pulling his hands.

She started singing on top of her lungs. "I say you don't know," she sang off-key, "You say don't know…" she started shaking their arms as she moved around in a circle. "I say...take me out!" she screamed, giggling.

Watching his drunk daughter, Sebastian realized that Jess was dancing the way they used to dance when she was a kid. They would hold each other's hands and spin around in a circle.

A memory of them, dancing barefoot on the beach next to a bonfire one summer night, crossed at the back of his mind, and he could help but laugh as the corner of his eyes sting.

"I won't be leaving here — with you!" They both yelled the lyrics of the song, spinning around on.

However, alcohol and spinning around don't go well together. Jess stopped moving and pouted. "The floor is uneven, Papa!'

"Yes, there is something wrong with the floor." he laughed.

"Shhh," she put her finger on top of her lips. "Be quiet. I'm going to ---" she threw up.

Sebastian knew that an accident was bound to happen when Jess, who was dead drunk, started circling around. But he didn't expect her to throw up on his chest.

"Are you okay," he pulled her to sit down on the nearest chair. "Can we get a glass of water, please," he said out loud, but his eyes were on his daughter.

"Papa, you know that a father can be only two things in his daughter's life, right?"

Sebastian nodded. He knew the rest of what she was going to say because he taught her that.

"A friend or a foe," he finished the rest for her.

"So what are you to me, Papa?"

"A friend, Nugget. A friend."

She sobbed when she heard his answer, and in between sniffles, she muttered, "Liar!"
