Chapter 7: Chapter 07 : Man Eating Mermaid

I am thirsty, however, I cannot drink seawater. It is too salty for me and might upset my stomach. 

But it's a relief that there is a craftable item called a simple desalination pot. If I boil seawater in the desalination pot, the water will evaporate and condense on the lid. 

Because the lid is angled, the purified water will flow in one direction, where another pot is waiting to collect it. 

In this way, I can also collect salt, as it is certain that it will be left behind after the seawater evaporates. 

The only downside to this device is the constant need for a heat source to keep the water boiling, which quickly depletes my supply of tree branches. 

I guess I would need to find an alternative. 

I hope I can easily find one. 

In the end, I have managed to collect two pots of purified water.

I also crafted a toilet, called an open pit toilet. 

It's pretty primitive, but the good thing is I don't need to dig meters of soil to make a pit. 

A pit magically appears beneath it upon building.

I also crafted some wooden buckets for storing water.

The sun is about to set when I suddenly hear music coming from somewhere. 

I followed the sound and climb a big boulder.

I saw a woman swimming on the water and she's the one humming the music I'm listening to.

She is naked and her chest is revealed. 

Her skin is white, her lips are pale violet, her hair is black, and her face is beautiful. 

However, a floating screen appears out of nowhere and says, 

"Warning: Man-Eating Mermaid, Class: Dangerous."

I gulp in surprise and look at the woman carefully. 

I finally realize what her real appearance is. Under her chest are three cuts that seem to be gills. 

I'm not certain, but it seems her body is that of a shark. 

I can also see her sharp teeth from where I am. 

She looks at me and gestures for me to come to her while increasing the volume of her humming. 

Another warning pops up, 

"Warning: Exposing yourself too much to a mermaid's music will hypnotize you." 

This makes me fear for my life and I quickly get out of there.

But honestly though, that woman is kind of hot.
