This was the second time the Count wrapped himself around her.

“Count…”

As she watched the doctor put the medicine on him, Marie looked even more sick.

“I’m fine.”

“Don’t lie.”

She cried.

“Don’t worry. As long as you apply the medicine properly, you will get better.”

Because of that, he forced the doctor to counter what she said, making an impression to the doctor invisible to Marie.

“It’s a weak burn…”

It was too deep a wound to say it was a weak burn, so the doctor said in a crawling voice to Marie. Telling lies has pricked his conscience as a senator.

“Leave the medicine to me. I will apply it to the Count every hour.”

The Count’s impression scares him, so the doctor and gave Marie some medicine. He then quickly ran away.

“Count.”

With her subdued voice, she sat down in front of him.

“Because it’s okay. It’s true.”

“I told you last time. Lying will make everything worse.”

“No way.”

“It’s true. Up to this point, I’ve seen it.”

He gazed at her, who had a stern expression on her face as Marie opened her mouth again, “It doesn’t matter now. Don’t get hurt instead of me in the future.”

“I don’t want to.”

She gave a rarely angry expression at his answer that came right out of his mouth.

“The Count is getting hurt instead of me. I’m not happy to see that.”

Even though she hated to say this, if she didn’t say it, it seemed like Kentrail would repeat this move over and over again.

At that, he turned his head away from her, giving a stubborn look.

“I’ve told you already.”

Leaving him alone, Marie got up and left the room.

A cold wind blew in her mansion. It was because of the fight between Marie and Kentrail.

The Count continued to frown, and her expression was not good either. Meanwhile, the chef looked at these two and contemplated that it was because of what had happened in his domain.

‘She’s not happy that I got hurt instead?’

He frowned as he sat on the terrace and looked at her on the other side.

‘You’re so mean.’

He didn’t like Marie for saying that without knowing his feelings.

It was the same with her.

‘I don’t like it. How can I like it? Are you doing this because you really don’t know that every time I look at the injured Count, I want to get injured instead…?’

Marie also gazed at him from the terrace.

On the other hand, the butler sighed as he looked at the two of them in the hallway of the building between the two terraces. He guessed that was why he was tired when his master started dating.

It was time for him to reconsider his wish that Kentrail should get married as soon as possible.

“Didn’t they two make up?”

The sergeant, who had always been with Kentrail, asked the butler.

“How can I know?”

The secretary said that he had urgent papers and urged them. It looked like it was a document to be criticized by the Count.

While the two of them were talking like this, they saw Marie get up first.

“Doesn’t it seem like the nanny is asking for reconciliation first?”

“Yes. After all, she’s a broad-minded person.”

The butler and the secretary laughed softly.

It seemed that the atmosphere of the mansion would be relieved now. And, they had to try not to look at Marie passing them by. She saw her approaching the Count’s side.

They envisioned a pink future.

However, the reality was different.

“Count.”

Kentrail didn’t give Marie a glance or answer, though he was glad that she came to him first, so he prepared to reconcile in his heart. He waited for the next words to come out of her mouth.

“Before, you told me to tell you if I have a wish. I’ll take a little vacation for the time being.”

It was a wish that Ellie wrote with the piano performance.

“What?”

Leaving him in surprise, Marie turned around.

It seemed that the cold war in the house was going to last a little longer.

“Marie, did you fight uncle?”

“No way.”

She said no, but she was offended enough that Brielle even noticed it.

Although Marie has applied for leave, how can there be a childcare leave? It was just that she didn’t run into Kentrail. Still, she was concerned about his wounds, so she gave the butler the medicine, and then made sure he had applied the medicine thoroughly.

‘Fought, you fought.’

Ellie clicked her tongue as she looked at her older sister.

“I told you not to do that.”

She then witnessed the scene and lightly tapped Ellie’s cheek.

“Because it will become a habit.”

“Ai sheee, shisteer.”

The child’s pronunciation leaked out because of the pressed cheeks. The way she looked was funny, Brielle grabbed his belly next to her and laughed. There was still a lot of laughter in the place where Marie was.

The problem was where Kentrail was…

“Count.”

The secretary quietly called his superior. Instead of answering, he was speaking with his eyes.

‘It’s confirmed that I will work overtime today.’

Since this report was a mess, he was already prepared for overtime. It was more terrifying than him just nagging.

‘The Count never used violence before, but I’m strangely afraid…’

Regardless of what the secretary thought, Kentrail’s mood subsided even more.

‘Did I do something wrong? But, even if the same thing happens to her, I will do that again, anyway.’

It was better for him to get hurt than to see her hurt. The butler came in this time as the secretary sneaked out of the way when he was thinking.

“I’ll give you some medicine. The nanny asks me all the time.”

Immediately, Kentrail, awakened by the word ‘nanny,’ looked at the butler and asked.

“Really?”

“Yes.”

He was very relieved that she had asked about his wounds.

‘You still care about me.’

The butler carefully lifted the shirt he was wearing. Then, he started to take medicine. The person who applied the medicine found it so painful to look at, but it felt amazing that he didn’t shed a single moan.

“Butler, did I do something wrong?”

“Yes?”

“I was just telling the truth. I’d rather get hurt.”

The butler laughed, knowing that it was about the nanny. He never dreamed that the day would come when his master would ask him for dating advice.

“Don’t you have the same mind?”

“What?”

“The Count doesn’t like the nanny hurt, and so does the nanny. Plus, she’s in a bad mood now that you’re injured like this.

Before he could finish speaking, Kentrail stood up and quickly left the office.

The door was opened by Marie.

It was when Ellie and Brielle went to Barry, and she was alone.

“Count.”

“I’m sorry.”

Marie looked at the Count apologizing to her.

“It’s not your fault.”

The reason he ran after hearing the butler’s words was to say this.

“…Count.”

“Still, I can’t lie to you. How can… No. Anyway, I can’t watch you get hurt right in front of me.”

At the end of the day, it was almost impossible to say that she was the woman he liked. But in the current circumstances, he had decided not to confess, so he struggled to swallow those words.

“Me, too.”

“Huh…?”

“…I don’t want the Count to get hurt in front of me either. Especially if it’s because of me.”

Hearing her words, the corners of his lips rose even in this situation. It was because she felt the same as him that she was concerned and worried about him.

“Are you laughing now?”

In response, Marie put her hand on her waist as if exasperated.

“You said you didn’t want me to get hurt… I like it.”

At the words, she was embarrassed as she put her hand on her waist. She then started to tap her finger on her waist in response to him saying, “I like it.” It was something she didn’t know would come out.

Both of them felt it.

They would not be able to reach an agreement on this issue even if it went on for the rest of their lives.

Marie was applying the medicine as her ears were already as red as they were. It was because Kentrail had a nice wide back and muscles because of his good looks.

‘I’m glad she’s back.’

Kentrail was no different. A delicate touch different from that of the butler was applying medicine to his back.

“Do you think they reconciled?”

The two were watching outside the door, the sergeant and the butler.

“It seems so.”

“That’s fortunate.”

At that, both breathed a sigh of relief. They both thought they were whispering, although the people inside heard it all.

‘Did the butler and the sergeant know we fought?’

It was embarrassing to find out that they were fighting because they were not children. Her hand stopped for a moment, and Kentrail gazed back to see what was going on.

At that moment, their eyes met.

She froze. It was then that she realized that there were only the two of them in the small space.

The noisy voices outside were gone.

Kentrail stopped thinking. Only she came into his sight. They approached each other slowly. Except for the relationship between the nanny and the employee, only a man and a woman came in.

‘His gaze is too intense.’

She shut her eyes in fear of the encroaching feelings, not knowing she was looking at him that way too.

“Let’s go.”

“Isn’t it better to get permission to go?”

“Then, my sister will never let me go.”

Barry, not wanting to cause worries to Marie, secretly left the mansion with Siege.

“Shall I tell the Count?”

Siege objected to that. He wanted to take care of his own family affairs. Although it already seemed like Barry had become an agent by intervening.

“Do you know where it is?”

“I know a bar he goes to every day. If we go nearby, we’ll see it.”

Barry nodded his head. Some people wandered around when they had a hard time in the mansion.

“Come on, let’s go.”

In the end, the two chose the window instead of the entrance to the mansion. They checked to see if there was anyone below and jumped off.

In an instant, the children who were hiding in the shadows of the trees, ran out of the mansion.

***

The day was bright.

Ellie was the first to notice that Barry and Siege weren’t in the mansion.

“Brother.”

Ellie, who visited Barry and Siege in turn, went around the mansion looking for them, but they were nowhere to be found. The child, who had been contemplating for a long time whether to tell her sister or not, first visited the Count’s office.

“What happened?”

The butler guarding in front of him asked her in a friendly voice.

“Butler, is the Count there?”

“Yes. Wait a minute.”

As he entered the office, Ellie let out a sigh.

‘Really, where did he go at a time like this? I don’t know what’s going on. How much does sister care about us… Does he even think like that?’

Kentrail came out as the child was huffing inside.

“Ellie, what’s going on?”

The child who had come since morning was puzzling, he hurriedly asked.

“My brother is gone.”

“What?”

“I think he went out with Brother Siege. He may have been out for a while, but at times like this, I can’t see him.”

“I see. I’ll look for it. Don’t worry, can you go to your room?”

“Yes, though my sister…”

“I’ll tell her.”

“Yes.”

Before leaving, she was reassured by the Count before going back to her room.
