Kentrail came up to his room.

His face, which was much stiffer than at other times, was explaining the shock he had received.

‘What do you mean, he may have died? How did that happen… After all, the relatives didn’t bring sister-in-law’s sister to this estate to deceive our family until the very end. Still, then and now, the situation is different. Now, they just need to know that there is no culture that doesn’t like twins in the capital. Also, it is vague to hold someone responsible for the deceased because Brielle is there. But, why are they staying at the castle stating that they have no children…?’

He began to wonder if more things were missing.

“Haa…”

Things got complicated. It seemed like he had to go into the castle tomorrow and checked if it was true that Brielle’s maternal grandfather had passed away.

Kentrail, lying on the bed, raised one arm and brought it to his eye, feeling that it would take some time to meet Marie and Brielle again.

‘Everyone should be fine. Although I’ve left all the knights I trust the most, I’m not relieved.’

In the end, in shock and worry, he couldn’t sleep that night.

Taylor hurriedly grabbed Marie and left the kitchen. Meanwhile, Derek, running late, arrested the kitchen maid in the kitchen.

“Call a doctor, please!”

The butler, who ran out into the hallway at Taylor’s urgent voice, found Marie in his arms and led him to a nearby room.

“Uh… what happened? Why was the nanny suddenly hurt?”

“There was a surprise attack. Please, call a doctor quickly.”

The butler, who saw Taylor laying Marie down, hurriedly ran to the doctor. When they heard someone yelling and footsteps running around, the children who were having fun came out into the hallway.

“What’s going on?”

The three looked at each other bewildered.

“Let’s go down.”

Barry and Ellie moved together with Brielle, who rushed to the first floor. As they stood on the stairs going down, they saw the doctor and the butler rushing to a room.

“Who’s hurt?”

The children moved to the room, facing the butler with a worried mind.

Someone outside would have kept the children out of the room, though the butler had no intention of ordering that. Because of that, the children who reached the front of the room opened the door a little and looked inside.

An inconceivable face was lying on the bed, bloodless.

“Sister!”

“Sister!”

“Marie…!”

Her stomach was drenched in blood.

Seeing her, the children ran. They approached the bed on which Marie was lying, terrified.

“Young master….”

Taylor, who was watching the doctor examining, found the children belatedly. He hastily caught Brielle.

“Ma…rie… Why is Marie like that?”

“She was stabbed with a knife.”

The children’s faces became paler at the mention of a knife. They looked at Taylor as if the butler was joking, but seeing Marie’s serious condition made it clear that it wasn’t something to joke about.

“Sister? Is she okay?”

Ellie asked, crying next to the doctor.

“I think we need to check the wounds properly. Would you all go out?”

Saying so, the doctor asked the children, the butler, and even Taylor to leave.

“I’ll call the maid.”

The butler, who was reluctant to leave only the doctor and Marie alone, added as he left the room.

“I’ll be here…!”

Unlike the other people who turned their backs and tried to leave quickly, Ellie stood still and spoke up.

“I’ll be showing the affected part. You should go out, too.”

“It’s my sister! I need to be by her side!”

The doctor, who thought for a moment at Ellie’s earnest voice, nodded his head. As Brielle and Barry went outside, they kept looking back at Marie.

“Will Marie be okay?”

Shaking his whole body, Brielle turned to Barry.

“Yes. Sister is strong.”

Even Barry, who said that, had a voice filled with moisture.

‘Sister, did you happen to be attacked by the people who were aiming for me and Ellie…?’

Frustrated, he wiped his face with both hands so much that his skin was about to turn red.

The door eventually closed as Taylor came out last.

“I will go to the person who made my nanny like this.”

“I will go, too.”

Even though he tried to protect this room where his sister was lying, it seemed that he would only interfere.

When Barry opened his mouth in outrage, Taylor looked at the child and nodded his head. He knew very well that it would be more crazy to sit still.

“Let’s call the commander who will protect the Young Master and go.”

Brielle, unable to calm down despite Barry’s words, went into a state of panic, unable to listen to their words.

“Please take good care of the Young Master, butler.”

When they finally saw the knight commander rushing to this place, they turned and headed for the criminal.

Kentrail blinked his stiff eyes a few times and then left the accommodation he stayed at last night. He had a sword on one side. The knights followed closely with tension as to whether they felt the master’s change.

Since the castle and their quarters were close to each other, they quickly arrived at the gates.

Passing through the gates was as easy as yesterday. The task was to get into the room where Brielle’s grandfather was. As he walked down the hallway, he felt the aura of sadness better than yesterday.

‘Does the employees know what state the grandfather is in?’

Thinking that, he glanced at the stairs leading up to the floor where the Head’s room was.

“Chancellor.”

Perhaps, they had heard that he had arrived. The vassal who was trying to talk to him yesterday was running here.

“Is there a way to meet the Head?”

“…He is still not waking up.”

“I heard he woke up at least once a day.”

“Ah… I don’t know when you heard about it, though it’s been over two weeks since his condition suddenly got worse.”

It took time for Kentrail to run here. Maybe, during that time, Brielle’s grandfather got worse, as they said… or he died, as he was told at the bar.

“Then, I should see the Head sooner than later.”

“What… that… even if you meet, he won’t be able to share any stories. Rather, it can put a burden on the sick…”

Before he could finish his words, Kentrail pointed his sword at his neck. The passing maids and the knights standing behind Kentrail were stunned by his actions.

“This—What is this?”

The vassal with a sword pointed at his neck trembled and spoke. If he deviated just a little, the blade of the sword seemed to pierce his neck.

“You know I’m Brielle’s guardian.”

The vassal, whose voice was not even coming out of the sword that was getting closer, wanted to nod his head although he couldn’t, and listened to Kentrail.

“I received a letter from the Head of this place, saying that if he is sick and in an emergency, he will hand over his authority to the only immediate family, Brielle. That is why I am in charge of this place on behalf of young Brielle.”

“What nonsense is that…”

There was a sword on his neck, and the vassal, who was furious at Kentrail’s words for a moment, screamed at the wound on his neck.

“Why doesn’t it make sense?”

Kentrail stared at his neck indifferently, then pulled his sword back a little. It was so that he could carry on his words to the end.

“Isn’t it obvious? Why is there only one person in his direct line! Gasp…!”

As if he had finished his words and realized that he had made a mistake, he hastily shut his mouth and bit his tongue.

“It is said that there is not one person who shares blood. I know that the Head has only one daughter, but that one person is not my sister-in-law.”

For a moment, the vassal felt a sense of intimidation that Kentrail might eat him.

“That… that…”

“Oh, sister-in-law has another sister, and you have her, so there’s no way that the Head could have handed the will over to Brielle?”

“How do you…”

Kentrail scoffed at the pale vassal.

“It sounds like you have been deceiving our family without properly controlling the mouths of the citizens here from the beginning. Yes, that’s not as important as the current situation. It seems that Brielle’s grandfather didn’t even know if his daughter was missing or dead.”

It was then that the vassal, who was not aware of his mistake, fell to his knees when Kentrail pulled his sword.

“I… I had been blind for a while. It really is. I was against it at first.”

“Looks like you want to be forgiven. Then you’ll have to go into detail from start to finish.”

At that, Kentrail rolled his eyes and listened to the story.

Ellie’s face was wet with tears.

As she carefully removed the clothes off the stomach and where the sword was taken off, the blood was gushing out so much that there was no trace visible.

“I must stop the bleeding quickly.”

The doctor took out the medical equipment he brought and spoke.

The maid, who opened the door, came in, helped him get water and brought a clean towel. Ellie couldn’t move from her spot. No matter how many people she had known for a long time, she could not leave this position to fully trust them in this situation.

Instead, she helped the doctor quickly disinfect the medical equipment that he put down.

“Tonight is going to be hard.”

The doctor who was treating her spoke in a slightly dark tone. Ellie’s face changed to that of despair.

Even though the maid glanced at the doctor with a reproachful look, she had a bad look on her face as well.

“Fortunately, the knife steered past an important area. But, the bleeding is so great.”

Whether he was worried as he was bandaging, he looked to see if the wounds he had barely sewed over would burst.

“My sister… please, help her.”

Ellie clung to the doctor in an earnest voice.

“I did everything I could. Now, only the will of God remains.”

Although it may sound a bit irresponsible, with current medicine, it was inevitable. With a sigh, as if fleeing from the heavy atmosphere, the doctor went to the door.

‘Sister…’

At the sound of the door closing and hearing that it was God’s will, Ellie, who leaned her upper body as if to collapse on the bed, took Marie’s hand.

‘No. If you take my sister again…’

The maid, who watched the desperate scene, wiped her tears with a handkerchief.
