Chapter 28: Huh?

We had just reached the room where the other four Yautja were, which was the main area of the ship with corridors leading elsewhere.

"Okay, be careful in there, and don't hesitate to call for help." I said to the others.

"Don't worry, these guys are a piece of cake." said Amelia.

"Agreed, I've fought monsters much scarier than what we're about to face." chimed in Ciri.

"Haha. I guess it's just you that's worried, Matt." chuckled Uzui.

"Very funny, but nonetheless be careful these are older and more experienced Yautja than the one from earlier. Now, let's go."

As we stepped near the door, I commanded it to open. The room we were about to step into was reminiscent of a common area. An open space with seats and doors leading elsewhere. In the middle of the room stood the four Yautja, fully dressed for combat.

"I think they're trying to communicate with us." said Amelia.

"Enough talk, let's just tell them we want to fight one on one." said Uzui who then stepped forward and pointed at the one he wanted to fight before motioning a throat slice.

ROAR

"Well, that's one way to do it." I said.

Uzui then started fighting the Yautja he chose before we each got busy with one. The one I chose was wielding one giant sword attached to each wrist. Deciding I was in too much of an enclosed space to go wild with my nanites, I decided to use my telekinesis to fight.

ROAR

The Yautja seeing as I was ready to fight, threw a shuriken which I then caught midair. Spinning it around me in orbit for it to gain momentum, I then threw it back. The Yautja then used his blade to strike it down, but before it could I changed the trajectory allowing me to cut its wrist off.

ROAR

Angry at it losing a wrist, it decided to rush me. Seeing the Yautja coming towards me I created a blast of telekinesis pushing him back with enough force to crash into a wall. I lock on to the Yautja with my telekinesis and bring it towards me.

I have to be honest seeing a Yautja flailing about in midair helplessly takes the fear I have of them down a notch. Having fought for long enough, I grasp its head and twist it, killing one of the most feared hunters in the universe.

"That was a lot easier than I thought. It seems Yautja are only a problem when they are in their environment, hunting prey instead of a head-on fight. Although to be fair, if I was fighting melee to melee I probably would have lost."

Turning to see how the others were doing revealed them looking at me, waiting for me to finish.

"You're the last one to finish." said Amelia.

"HAHA! I'm first!" laughed Uzui.

"Actually, I was able to kill mine before you did." corrected Ciri.

"What? How?"

"Like this." said Ciri now behind Uzui putting her hand on his shoulder by having teleported behind him.

"Aw come on, that's just not fair." he said at which we all chuckled.

"Seems we've done a good job this time around. We do have to leave in 2 days, but we can take that time to relax before we get to our worlds." I said.

"Sounds like a good plan, we can bond even more with the time we have left." said Amelia.

"Yes, that sounds fun." said Ciri.

"But first, what do we do with the ship? Can we put it in our inventories?"

"Do you guys mind if I store it in mine?" I asked the group.

"Go for it, not like I can do much with it in my world." said Amelia.

"Indeed, I have no use for such a thing." said Ciri.

After storing the ship, we went back to meet up with Yoruichi and Guts. After 15 minutes, we spotted Guts still being hugged by Yoruichi.

"Yo, welcome back. Good job on the mission complete." said Yoruichi.

"Tch, I wanted to fight too." muttered Guts.

"Once you get your Nen under control, you'll skyrocket in strength so don't worry." I consoled him.

"What are we going to do with Naru?" asked Ciri.

"Don't worry about it, the rescue group should be here in 10 minutes or so." said Yoruichi.

"Good, for now, let's wait, and then we'll make plans after that."

We sat down to relax and wait for the rescue group who came bursting through weapons at the ready. The young man from earlier, Taabe, was leading the group and looked about ready to kill someone.

"It's about time, you're a little late." I said to him.

"Where's Naru?!" he yelled while pointing the spear at me.

"Whoa, slow down there friend. She's over there resting. We got ambushed by the thing we were hunting, and she got hit unconscious. She's fine though." I said pointing at Naru resting.

"Hmm, and how do I know you didn't do that to her?"

"Because I have no interest in her, nor do I hurt defenseless people. We got what we came here for, we've been waiting for you to come pick her up so we can leave."

He kept staring at me to see if I was telling the truth. Deciding I was, he went to pick up Naru before starting to leave.

"Word of advice my friend, troubled times are coming for your people." I told him before he continued to walk.

"Why'd you tell him that?" asked Guts.

"If history teaches you one thing, its that people don't like to share. The people who've come to this land will continue to expand their reach. Eventually, they will come in conflict with the native tribes who've lived here for generations. This world is currently in an age where you only have one choice, submit or perish. I want to warn him in hopes more people survive." I explained.

"Guess humans are pretty much the same in every world." said Amelia.

"Yes. Well let's not ruin the mood, we still have 48 hours in this world before we have to leave. Let's travel to a city and experience life during this time period."

"Alright, let's go." agreed Ciri.

We had traveled East for about 3 hours before Yoruichi said something.

"We're being surrounded."

"What? By who?" I asked.

"Hunters it looks like."

"More Yautja? I thought we got them all." said Amelia.

"No, humans."

"Shit, probably slave traders or trappers. They were rampant during these time periods." I said.

"So, what's the plan? More fighting?" said Uzui with a smile.

"If they're aggressive, we take them down. If they're not, leave them be and keep walking."

"Qu'avons-nous là? Un couple de beautés." said a fat Frenchman in the lead.

"What can we do for you gentlemen?" I replied.

"Amenez le traducteur." he said before someone was brought.

"He says he wants you to leave the girls, and go on your way." said the translator.

"Phew, did you hear that ladies? This man wants all three of you for himself. I don't think he has it in him."

"Tch, he wishes. He probably hasn't even seen his piece in years." said Amelia while laughing which the translator conveyed to the man.

"Capturez-les!" screamed the man before the group came towards us.

"Alright, kill these dumbasses." I told everyone.
