CHAPTER 10: The Pretty Boy Knows Martial Arts II

Hua Rong Yue didn’t quite understand, similar to how she didn’t quite understand Yi Ling Long’s emotions — the latter was overly passionate and fervent, and would risk everything she had in an attempt to achieve something she wouldn’t get.

Yi Ling Long was a very sentimental person. Perhaps she had willingly given in to Madness as a result of her love. But Hua Rong Yue personally felt that she wouldn’t torture to this extent herself over romantic feelings. Why should she have to make such warping changes for love?

It was to the extent that she had lost even herself in the process. Yi Ling Long was such a beautiful person, but the devastation that was left behind that she’d personally witnessed earlier was a nightmare.

— So if time permitted, Hua Rong Yue would definitely tidy herself up, and portray the most reliable and steady side to the other people.

In the beginning, this had been a method she took up to keep her distance from others. Gradually however, it had become something that reminded her to remain vigilant at all times.

And today, such vigilance was already become a habit.

Whether it was back then when she was being chased by both the good and the bad guys, or today.

Physician Qi and Wan Fu Lian were dumbfounded for the longest time. But their shock this time was a different type of shock from when they’d thought Hua Rong Yue had been buried. Even though the Hua Rong Yue standing at the top of the debris had her back towards them, Xiao Han was still taut and on alert.

Even though Hua Rong Yue had revealed his back, Xiao Han didn’t dare to dash over like he would have done so previously. Among the jianghu people, the most fatal mistake one could make during battle was to reveal one’s back — one’s blind spot. Yet, that was exactly what Hua Rong Yue was doing now, in fact, Hua Rong Yue didn’t seem to be on guard at all.

The situation earlier had even Xiao Han shaken. The outcome had deviated greatly from what he’d originally imagined. ♢ CHRONOLOGY OF A HUNDRED HERBS, CHAPTER 10 is hosted at ZHANLANN.COM ♢

Xiao Han realised that Hua Rong Yue indeed knew martial arts, and was very skilled. Despite Xiao Han’s own abilities, he still didn’t manage to catch how Hua Rong Yue had evaded his attack earlier.

As the young master of the Pinxi Escort Bureau, he’d definitely seen a lot before. He was too considered quite gifted in martial arts himself. He was also the only child in the Xiao family, so he was indulged in growing up, and got everything he wanted. Having tagged along during his family business’ work, he’d seen at least a good half of the various types of skills and techniques used across the jianghu.

But he really couldn’t see through this pretty boy. If he had to make any comments about the stunt previously, he could only figure out some things from the way Hua Rong Yue had landed.

—The qinggong Hua Rong Yue had used was a very advanced technique.

Qinggong techniques were also ranked by complexity and difficulty across the jianghu. The qinggong that people under Pinxi Escort Bureau used was already considered above average. But the qinggong that Hua Rong Yue had displayed earlier had easily reflected the stark difference in abilities. Even though qinggong was important for an individual roaming the jianghu, there weren’t a lot of people who would really spend too much time refining it to the max. It was very time-consuming, and requires a lot of effort and work; most people wouldn’t do it unless they had no choice. From his experience, those that would really need to refine such techniques to incredible heights were those that had to walk on blades and tread dangerously between the thin line of life and death.

Xiao Han had already started cursing away madly in his head. What the hell? Wasn’t this supposed to be a mundane and average pretty boy? Why did someone like this suddenly appear in Hundred Herb Apothecary? What exactly was his agenda coming here?

And the most important question was — would his presence put Xiao Lian in danger?

After recovering from the flash of memories, Hua Rong Yue came to and turned around. He was greeted by a dumbfounded Physician Qi and Wan Fu Lian, and an anxious Xiao Han, who looked as nervous as a husky that had accidentally tore apart the house. At that, Hua Rong Yue reached out to pick up the curved blade that hailed from the West — the one thatWan Fu Lian had placed down on the side.

The blade was heavy; it wasn’t the kind that Hua Rong Yue was familiar with. Hua Rong Yue had her own blade, it had a black handle and both edges of the blade were sharpened. It was very lightweight. That blade had been among Yi Ling Long’s iconic weapons. It was well known across the jianghu; the presence and attention the blade commanded was at the same level as seeing Yi Ling Long herself.

After she escaped from Heaven’s Will Tower, she was afraid that people will tail her because of the blade, so she’d randomly dumped it somewhere. She didn’t know who would find it later.

This kind of blades weren’t as familiar or comfortable to use for Hua Rong Yue, after all heavier blades were more tiring to hold. If she were to be on an assassination mission, she’d have to keep still holding the blade up the entire day. Yi Ling Long’s blade was renowned across the Jianghu. There was no other blade that would be any lighter than hers.

Even though this blade was heavier, she figured that it would be more painful if she were to fling it out; it’d hurt more when it hit people. Hua Rong Yue was particularly taken by the big gemstone encased on this blade. This blade was perhaps only so precious and valuable because of that gem.

She wanted to use the blade handle to give this wolf cub a proper beating.

When Hua Rong Yue walked towards Xiao Han, the latter was already on the verge of exploding.

Despite so, he was very courageous and did not attempt to dodge.

Hua Rong Yue swept a look around, oh, so Wan Fu Lian was watching from the sidelines, no wonder he didn’t want to dodge, it would be too embarrassing for him. Oh well, this played out to Hua Rong Yue’s favour.

She glanced at Xiao Han’s increasingly stiffened and taut body, mentally remarking that she was gonna leave him a memorable lesson, if not he wasn’t gonna change his terrible temper. This senior she shall teach him what exactly it meant to be a person of the jianghu.

Just as Hua Rong Yue was about to lift up the handle of the blade and whack him on his butt, a fan suddenly flew over from afar; the fan hit her blade, changed the direction of her whack, and she missed.

Xiao Han was absolutely startled, and immediately jumped up. Hua Rong Yue too was a little stunned by the sudden addition. She turned around to see whose fan it was, but was greeted with someone she didn’t want to see the most.

Yan Sheng stood at the entrance as he looked into the apothecary. His stern face was, as always, untelling of his inner thoughts.
