Ever since my youth, I had been an idealist in some way or form. I had always believed in the greatness of life, it was something that man had never been born to or entitled to, but it was the inspiration for all dynamic and brilliant lives. It was a golden apple laying at the end of Eden’s garden, laying past all the sands many have believed to be essential.

CLASS WARFARE

It Was Meant To Be A Normal Morning Day

It was another morning day and I began to knot my eyes open. As I began to do so I began to notice a multiplicity of voices ringing in my ear. Due to my growing curiosity and confusion, I began to knot my eyes out. I began to notice that I had been in some sort of space. It was a dark metaphysical plane shaped like a cube. It looked as if it had been formed out of pure darkness, giving an almost mystical essence. Though to me I’d say it does look a little edgy. Just like something out of my dark past.

As I continued to hear the voices from earlier, I began to turn my head back. A number of silhouettes of light appeared behind me. I peered slightly towards their expressions, all of which were faces littered with looks of confusion and shock. They were huddled closely together, like football players at a game. With nothing else better to do, I began to cautiously near this group.

I approached them cautiously since I was a New Yorker at heart. And knowing ol’ York I wouldn't want to risk the chance of being shanked even though this wasn’t ol’ Yor-

A brilliant flash of blue light appeared at the corner of my eye. My body froze and I turned my head towards the source of the brilliant light. I began to squint my eyes at the brilliant flare that seemed to burn as bright as the day itself.

“Welcome! You have been summoned to another world!”

The image of a large blonde girl appeared outside of the dark dome. She wore an odd hat and an odd outfit. It looked like something that you would put on a D&D character, after all she looked like some kind of mage. She began to wince slightly as if she had been in pain before opening her eyes once again.

“Summoned to another world!?”

My voice stirred in pure confusion, as a torrent of convicted voices erupted after me. I reared my head back and forth as I began to notice many light silhouettes appearing right behind me.

“What do you mean by that!?”

“Is this some kind of show!?”

“Where’s my sister!”

“Don’t force my hand! I’ll get my lawyers to sue the crap out of you motherfucker!”

A raging torrent of voices screamed after me. A smile began to erupt on my face. It reminded me of a concert. After all, just like a concert, there had been just so many loud and annoying people screaming at the top of their lounges for absolutely no reason.

(Literally was the first one to scream.)

“You may be confused. But allow me to explain. You have all been summoned to another world by me, Ariel the Goddess of light. The reason why I and the other Gods in the Council of the Gods have decided to summon you all is due to the fact that your presence will be necessary to save a dying world. This world is in no way like the world you were born in as it is fundamentally a world of magic and fantasy-”

Magic.

I began to chuckle as a smile went across my face and my eyes began to stare away from the present and into the future.

Life as a mage would be something that I would completely love. After it would mean that I would be able to do magic. Be able to fly. And be able to be like the main character of JK Joking’s Hairy Poet!

I began to chuckle as I ignored parts of her speech.

“But despite this fact, you should mark my words and recognize that this world won’t be easy peasy lemon squeezy for you. After all, this world will be a world completely unlike yours in every shape and form-”

Wait. Did she say easy peasy lemon squeezy... I. Really have nothing to say.

My expression grew shell-shocked.

I thought a Goddess would be a lot more dignified and formal, to be honest. Rather than saying things like easy peasy lemon squeezy. It looks like she really is jumping off the script right now...

I thought as I began to stare up at her with a disappointed look.

“And now I will allow you to enter the First Void. A realm that you will need to clear to enter the world that is Riel.”

For some odd reason, I began to feel drowsy after she said that. My mind grew numb as my eyes were closed shut. Before I knew it, all that I could see was the void. And I was plainly wasted like a death in GTR 5. Grand Theft Reckage 5.

Was this meant to be some kind of defeat that the player experiences in the tutorial? Or is it meant to be some kind of plot device to advance me to the next scene?

(Literally described the same thing.)

--

“Hey buddy! Are you still alive!”

The voice of a girl came over me. Her voice was like that of an Asian girl in her twenties.

“Ugh...”

I groaned as I began to knot my eyes open for the second time in this chapter. My eyes opened to see her petite figure standing over me in what could be assumed to be the roof of this so-called First Void place.

After being forced asleep for the second time in this chapter, I began to realize that I didn’t exactly like the idea of being forced asleep for no good reason. It’s as if the guy in control of this place or whatever is just some sort of sadist that likes seeing me suffer... After all, waking up is something that I’m just bad a-

Slap

“Hey! What was that for!”

I said as I threw my eyes wide open and padded the spot where she slapped my face.

“Looks like you were awake. You should have responded earlier if you didn’t want to be slapped.”

“I was awake! You bi-”

She threw her back against the wall and began to press her surprisingly soft hands against my mouth.

“Sh. They’re coming.”

WHO!?
